As nice as the owner is(&she is), I won’t go back. I made an appointment a week+ in advance and even called back to confirm I had booked it correctly. When I arrived on time, my stylist was just beginning another haircut. 45 minutes later she finally acknowledged me, said she didn’t feel comfortable applying my color & asked me to rebook with someone else in a month. I wish I would’ve known that before I sat waiting for 45 min. . The other staff was friendly enough but it was giant waste of time. Wish I could recommend, but I do not.

I went to Tiffany for color and cut. She cut about six inches off, far more than she told me she would(Strike 1). I showed her photos of what I like and thought she understood but I ended up with darker hair than I wanted(Strike 2). After coloring, the shampoo person(my scalp is just now recovering from the pain) did not condition and then used a fine tooth comb. When I told her it was hurting she brought Tiffany over who told me she would be doing a gloss treatment and didn’t condition. She also told me I could comb my hair myself or she could do it(who tells the client that?). After someone dried by hair, Tiffany then used a flat iron to curl my hair(reminiscent of the 90’s). When she reached for the hairspray I told her I don’t use it but she told me I would never know the difference(Strike 3 — disregard the client). Three strikes and I’m out!!! I paid over $ 200 and now have to have the color redone by another salon. Not what I was expecting from the Charleston stylist of the year…

The haircut was good, but the stylist left a lot to be desired. Firstly, I made an appt about a week in advance, but had to wait 20 minutes past appointment time for her to be done with the person in front of me. When she did get me in the chair, she was pretty unresponsive and seemed sort of… irritated about something. By the time I left, I’d heard her bickering with her fiancé, I’d heard her tell me that if she’d got gray hairs like I did at 25 she’d «cry,» and that she had no plans for the night because her place of work exhausted her and she wanted to do nothing when she got home(she said this last comment in a way that made me feel like I was part of the problem). Overall not impressed, though maybe I just got a bad stylist. The others seemed friendly enough from what I could see/hear. Still, if I’m paying $ 40 for a haircut, I’d rather see a smiling face than a grumpy one. Won’t be going back.

I’d put off getting my hair cut for about a year because with my thick, curly hair is easy to screw up. A friend recommended the place and I’m so glad she did! Jenna was amazing! My stylist from Atlanta was so great, but even she wasn’t willing to go red on my hair. Jenna, however, was able to give me the perfect shade of Auburn! I told her I wanted to go Emma Stone and on the way home from, a random stranger at the gas station told me I looked like Emma Stone! Couldn’t be more satisfied!

Im also new to the area, i tried it out cutting my mid back length hair to my shoulders. I liked the place and the people. Online booking is a plus. My haircut was pretty good, except one thing. The hairdresser, a male, left 2 long(about 3 inches longer, a quarter inch thick pieces, then the rest of the cut) in the front framing my face. Not a good mistake. It was painfully obvious when I looked in my bathroom mirror. Luckily, I’m pretty brave with my kitchen scissors and clipped off the pieces. He should have checked the evenness of my layers an would have caught it if he was more thorough at the end. I don’t think I’ll go back after that. I heard they do excellent color though. That’s what the 3 other ladies were in for that were there the same time as me. I’ll give 4 stars for service and overall cut, minus 2 for the error. ///UPDATE! I got a call from the salon owner this morning regarding a review I left on their booking site. She said the male who cut my hair was new. I ended up getting a free haircut from HER when I come in next time. So plus 1 star for fixing the issue.
