Do not waste energy to even walk in. Such a great location with so many good choices to eat in area. Just total disappointment.

My husband and I went here a few weeks ago because we were in the area and couldn’t resist the delicious scent of pizza as we were passing by. We went in and ordered a large cheese pizza. We asked if they had breadsticks and the guy said they didn’t, but offered to make us some. They were the best breadsticks we’ve ever had and tasted even better than the pizza! Guy, if you’re reading this, you should seriously consider putting that on the menu! The atmosphere was nice and not brightly lit. We were SLIGHTLY put off by the fact that the drinks were in cans and the plates were paper place, but I think the restaurant is meant to be casual.

We were walking through Town Center trying to decide where to eat when we came across Windy City Pizza and decided to give it a try. I had not heard anything about the place before then, nor had I looked it up online. The restaurant was fairly empty when we entered and we walked up to the counter right away. The guy taking our order was efficient, but not particularly friendly. After ordering our pizza and water to drink, we found our that we were charged for bottled water. Apparently, that’s all they have. For me, this was the biggest negative about this place and, frankly, it was quite off-putting. We then sat down and I decided to look to see what others on Unilocal had to say about this place. The 2 star rating and the host of negative reviews scared me. But then, our pizza arrived. We had ordered a deep dish pizza with a few toppings. The pizza was excellent. It really was. Someone even came by our table to see if everything was too our liking, so not too shabby on the service either. As we went through our pizza, I couldn’t help but wonder why this place had so many really bad reviews. They do sell pizza by the slice and maybe the people who had a bad experience got those. I still don’t get it. Sure, this place does have some negatives. They need to offer glasses of water to people, or, at the very least, tell someone who asks for water that they only have bottled water. But overall, the food we got was really good and the service ultimately was fine as well. I’d recommend giving this place a shot if you’re in the area and in the mood for some pizza.

You know, I don’t know if this place was having an off day or if the pizza was actually not good. I stepped in here to get a couple of slices after a meeting in the area. I had my hopes up with a name like Windy City Pizza. I ordered my traditional two slices(without even knowing how big they made the slices). They were decent size, I guess average for pizza place, but the server also cut them in half, which I thought was odd. So, it was like I had four slices. Anyway, up until that day, I’ve managed to avoid bad pizza. Not counting microwave pizza. I almost felt like going all the way to Frank’s for some retribution slices. But that’s just the pizza, they’re other dishes might be better. It’s got a nice ambiance, and they do have wine for those oenophiles.

This place is still open? Really? I ate here months ago and forgot about reviewing and after reading other recent reviews, doesn’t look like much has changed so here goes mine… I will never come here again. Too bad because I just happen to love pizza as do my kids and when we went here it was just bad. I had 3 kids with me and my husband, ok 4 kids… hehehe. I ordered a large cheese pizza for them. They are all under 9 years old. I also ordered a slice of veggie. The cashier said they didn’t have one ready but that she could make one for me. She explained how she could get a cheese pizza and add veggies to it. I’m hungry and I want a veggie pizza so I say ok. I see her make it and give it to me and I look at her finished product and think to myself, what the what? She basically sprinkled raw red onions, green bell peppers and black olives on a cheese pizza. No extra cheese to melt the ingredients, just casually strewn about raw ingredients on my pizza. I could blow the ingredients right off. This was the worst pizza ever. Windy City pizza ain’t got nothing on my frozen $ 1.00 Totinos Party pizza. Then when my «large» cheese pizza came out, the one that took forever, it was an extra large cheese pizza. No wonder it took so long. I said large. Why would I order an extra large pizza for 3 tiny mouths? Why? Duh, I wouldn’t. Then the server who delivered it said he could ask them to make us a large. That would mean waiting another 15 minutes? That’s ok. The kids enjoyed the super large pizza and we brought home the leftovers. I guess I should have paid more attention when I paid almost $ 40 bucks for bottled soda’s, a slice of «veggie» pizza and a «large» cheese. UGH!

My boyfriend and I were on our way to Café Express when we instead, decided to eat at Windy City pizza. We couldn’t even finish a whole slice of their pepperoni pizza because it tasted so disgusting. Complete and total waste of money. I have eaten better pizza on Bourbon Street and the pizza there sucks! Needless to say, NEVER returning!

Some pizza after a night of drinking next door does not sound like a bad idea. It’s with this in mind that I anxiously went to grab myself some pizza. There were a couple other patrons that were also filling their munchies from too much drinking but the line went by pretty fast. I saw one of the employees kneading the dough and throwing it in the air, but the slice of pepperoni I ordered was already made. Like another review said, the pizza is reminiscent of school cafeteria pizza in looks but I think this pizza tastes much better. The dough is lacking in flavor and it was a little greasy but at 2:30AM, who cares! I was hungry and this hit the spot. I did think $ 4.50 a slice is a little much but for the convenience of being next door to Blu, I didn’t mind it. This is a small establishment that took over 1901, the previous pizza place. A little pricey for the food but conveniently located next the Blu lounge. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here but after a night of drinking, I wouldn’t hesitate to make a small pit stop.

I have to say, Windy City PIzza was like when you date a really hot-looking boyfriend/girlfriend…aaaaaaand that’s about all there is going on. No brains, no personality. Just. UGH. Prime location in Sugar Land Town Square? Check. Great storefront whose window can open up at beautiful, breezy weather days/nights? Check. Clean and attractive indoor and outdoor seating? Check. The pizza itself? That would be a negative. I bought a Groupon for Windy City a few weeks back and was psyched to try it out this past weekend with my boyfriend. Being that we live in this area of town and didn’t feel like driving into Houston for dinner and drinks, we figured we’d have dinner here and hop over to Flying Saucer. Thank goodness I had a Groupon, because I would have felt totally ripped off if I had to spend $ 20 on what we got. We ordered the medium pizza with pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, and onions. The pizza came out piping hot and LOOKED absolutely friggin delicious, but that’s where the positives stop. The problem here wasn’t that the pie tasted bad, but it had no flavor at all. I felt like i just kept eating and eating hoping to find a taste of some juicy pepperoni or italian sausage, maybe some seasoning or maybe some cheesy goodness. Zip. Zilch. Nada. To add insult to injury, the crust was rolled out much too thick to call it a thin crust New York style pizza and they definitely skimped on the toppings. Sigh. Also, heads up, yes, you can get water to drink, but there is NO ice. Fantastic. So, I went for a bottle of water… which I didn’t think twice about cost, but when I got my change back, I realized cost $ 2.15. Really? Also to note, apparently they don’t serve salads after 10pm. The guys making the pizzas were pretty nice, but I have to say the guy taking my order that night? Not so much. He actually came off a little rude and short when he was speaking to me. I really had decent expectations for Windy City Pizza, but I was really disappointed. Maybe the pizza would taste better if I were drunk.

I hate to say this but: Windy City Pizza kinda blows.(Pun intended) I will start this review with my one and only compliment. The pizza sure does look good. I mean if looks could kill this pizza would be a runway model. However, this model has absolutely zero personality. Everything about my first experience was terrible. My girlfriend and I ordered a four topping medium pizza which was just under $ 20, which I think is a bit pricey, especially for a medium pizza. I typically don’t order a drink and usually go with water. So I was thoroughly disappointed when I learned that not only do they have no ice and only tap water(no soda machine), but then a bottle of water was $ 2.15! I have never heard of bottle water costing that much and the problem is that only gets worse from their. From first bite into a Windy City Pizza, you immediately know that something is off. I say that pizza starts with crust and this crust is way off. It is incredibly thick and one of the most bland crust that I have ever tasted. They put very little sauce on the pizza and they are incredibly shiesty with the toppings. The toppings to sauce to crust ratio is way off and the toppings don’t taste very fresh at all. Overall, the pizza was terrible and I am thoroughly disappointed that another pizza place in Sugar Land sucks. It would be great to have a tasty pizza spot in Sugar Land Town Square however something tells me that this place, like 1905 Pizza Bar that came before it, will soon bite the dust too.

Imagine the pizza they served you in elementary school. The dough is very pale and lacked any flavor. The toppings were very mediocre. We were the only group there during lunch and it didn’t look like they wiped down the tables from the night before. They serve tap water with no ice in dirty glasses. I can’t see this place staying in business. Grimaldi’s is just a few blocks away.

As far as pizza goes, they do an okay job. Their deep dish doesn’t quite compare to Star Pizza but it’s a good choice if you don’t want to go too far away from the Sugar Land proper. And their thin crust is delicious only when freshly made. Otherwise, meh. However: the chicago beef sandwich is not worth the money. At all. While the beef and bread are okay, bread better than the meat(which is.. . odd). The hot and sweet peppers you can add are cold, canned and somehow.. . burned. Yes, burned. I don’t know how or why but that’s what it was. The giardineir(I spell that right?) was also okay. Its saving grace is that it is open quite late compared most everything else in Town Square so, you may give it some credit for that.

Evidently, the locals know this is not a very good place, because it was empty while everything around it was hopping. Ordered a slice of pepperoni and it came out lukewarm, yet the crust was burnt in places. Someone else finally came in when I was almost through. They ordered the same thing and I saw the cook pull a slice off a pre cooked pizza and throw it in the oven. I’m guessing that customer had the same lukewarm-burnt experience as me.

Went there earlier today with my partner and was not impressed. Windy City pizza took over the location that was formerly 1905 Pizza Bar, which wasn’t much better either. First, the selection of pre-made pizza was scarce and for veggie friendly me, cheese pizza was my only option. They had it to where you could order a full thin crust but A) I didn’t want that much pizza and B) it took at least 12 minutes and I wanted to get in and out quickly to run errands for the day. The chicago style thick crust took 35 min if I remember right. First, the drinks were hot and they didn’t offer any ice and the bottle drinks were over $ 2 each, which is overly expensive for not getting refills. The guy at the counter was apathetic and best and didn’t really pay much attention to us until we ordered… no hello, no is this your first time, would you like a suggestion, etc. Then came my pizza over ten minutes before my partners. Needless to say we didn’t want my food getting cold so he watched me eat and I did the same for him. My pizza was ok at best but $ 4 is a little steep considering what it was. He got a chili and cheese hot dog, and it was so tough that he had to really dig in knife and fork through it to cut it up. Plus the hot dog was cold. He said it tasted ok, but James Coney Island was much better for a fraction of the cost. It was also freezing in there and I had a thick shirt and jacket on. It was a cold day and they had not only the windows open but the front door too. I couldn’t wait to get back into my warm car. I also noticed that they closed early like at 8 or 9 depending on the night. Considering the late night crowds, I don’t think that was wise. I don’t think this place will last long.
