Prior to writing this review, I thought I would scroll down to see what people were saying about this place, and to my surprise, there were many a people discussing the service. Their service is the return I will return here time and time, and time and time, again. So, it was a Friday night — around 10:15 p.m. right after my brother’s graduation. We’d initially made reservations at Kasra for 15 people a week in advance, and that fell through due to the WORST service(I’ll be reviewing them afterward), and we were out of a place. A friend suggested we come to Turquoise, so she’d call in and made a reservation — despite it being so late in the evening, they were able to accommodate our large party with literally open arms. It was so refreshing. The owner and chef, Jim Dokuyucu, greeted us the second we got there. We mentioned to him it was my brother’s graduation dinner, and he said we could take over their DJ station to play the music we wanted, and if we wanted to dance, he would make enough space to accommodate that. He mentioned that there is no closing time and we were welcome to stay there as long as we wanted. I mean, after the horrendous service we received from Kasra, this was literally the best thing. Once our entire party arrived, Jim went through the menu and gave us some good options to order from to ensure we had enough food. We chose to go with ordering three orders of their platter #1, which came with beef, lamb and chicken kabobs, along with salad. We also ordered their hummus and babaganoush, which were all very much on-point taste-wise. They also served the table with bread and oil, which were out of this world. We’d ordered a small amount of their soup of the day, which was tomato basil, which was also delicious. We were consistently checked up on and our requests were all accommodated in a timely manner. The good thing about this restaurant in general is that their Turkish/Mediterranean menu has a lot of options for any taste — they have flatbreads and pasta to all the traditional dishes, all wish that middle-eastern twist, of course. The prices are also reasonable, and it’s a cozy place to eat, as well. They also have special brunches and dinners during special days, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and even New Year’s Eve, which all include live music or DJ and prix fixe menus or buffets. They’ve just started the New Year’s Eve celebration, which will be a fun, yet cozy, way to celebrate the night — food, music and dancing, without all the hype of a typical NYE celebration. All in all, I’ll definitely come back, especially thanks to the awesome service we were received with. For large parties or small, I highly recommend Turquoise Grill.

Turquoise makes for a great thanksgiving lunch! They have a traditional thanksgiving buffet with a few Mediterranean additions — hummus and baklava — and also offer their standard menu. We started with a sampler platter which is perfect for a group of 4 — lots of variety for everyone. We enjoyed most of the items except for the hummus. The falafel(tasted very fresh and not as fried as most places) and fried shrimp were my favorite from the apps! For our entrée we shared the Family Platter Three which has grilled shrimp, fried shrimp, grilled salmon, blacked talapia and rice and veggies. They staff was very accommodating and happily swapped out the shrimp for chicken kabobs at no charge. All the meats were cooked perfectly and very moist. The rice and veggies were delicious… and quite oily. There is a free parking garage next door for the town center area.

They were great when they first opened. Food was great and the atmosphere fun. I went a few months later with my mom and we were both severely disappointed by the food. The beef was chewy and cold and it was extremely difficult to get any service from the staff. Might give it one more try sometime later

What good is having great food when the service is so awful. When we arrived there was one table occupied inside and we were greeted by a charming young lady who was the only person that seemed to care about our party of four. There was a man behind the bar who I assume was the bartender. Two of us ordered martinis and two ordered Vodka on the rocks. After about 10 minutes the martinis were delivered and we waited and waited and waited for the other 2 drinks. The young lady brought one glass which had foam all over the top of the drink. Had no idea what that was so we send it back. The«bartender» was walking around and on his cell phone. Young lady brought the other two drinks about ten minutes after the martinis were served. Meanwhile the manager or chef came out of the kitchen to see if everything was ok and we explained to him that it wasn’t. He apologized and we never saw him again. The food was great. Everyone loved what they ate and the young lady who served our meals was delightful. But I would never go back.

Fantastic food. Sometimes the service is a bit slow, but man, the hummus is the best, the food is amazing, and Jim(owner) remembers me every time I walk in the door. A very nice evening out with the family, including the kids. Great location too in City Centre. I always get the mixed grill platter. It’s a lot of meat, but for a Texan like me, it is certainly worth it. The kids love their pizza, of course.

I came here one Sunday and I had ice cream and their chicken Kabob it was excellent. The Waiters are always so helpful, nice people. The Turkish tea and baklava was great. The location is very good. We love to sit outside in patio area. Specially now the weather is so nice. Also, we love to come here for a dinner with our family. They invite a musician and he is so good. The music is so nice.

Turquoise: Our experience at Turquoise for our 5 monthiversary was excellent! Two things that made this review an A+ experience: The Jazz player(live on the patio almost 365) + The owner’s enthusiastic service towards us(as well as every guest in his restaurant) We had a reservation, so the staff made every accommodation possible for us with VIP treatment from ‘welcome’ to ‘see you next time’. Next time we go, however, it will be for lunch. Why? Dinner plate prices can be too high. Dinner Menu can be confusing and inaccurate* *menu said gyro meat would be served on skewer with pita, but it was not*. Our server did forget about us once or twice, but it wasn’t a problem when a insane jazz concert is going on in front of you. I recommend lunch for the prices and ease of ordering, and dinner for a romantic evening with live music and fantastic service.

Best Greek Food in Sugar Land. I came with several office colleagues for a lunch meeting. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food and service were. I have had the lunch trio special, the gyro and the Greek salad. All were excellent. The portions were huge and the price was so low I about fell out of my chair. Seriously, for the cost of a whopper combo, you can have a three course meal and take some leftovers home.

Love the stuffed grape leaves and gyro platter. The baklava was delicious. The 3 course lunch special was only $ 13.95. The service was excellent.

Stopped in for lunch for the first time this week. The host, Jim was incredibly warm and made me feel at home dining alone. I ordered their lunch special that included a trio of skewered chicken, lamb gyro and greek meatballs. The meat was perfectly spiced and super tender. Fresh grape leaves and baklava for dessert. Great experience and welcoming staff!

Still a gem. Had the Turkish salad added feta and gyro. So good. Father in law loves the blackened tilapia. Service is always great too. Come in!

Overated It looked beautiful Staff was clueless They didn’t make their own hot sauce Their hummus was clunky — had a v ordinary tomato salad Their lentil soup was ground too fine and had a revolting after taste of turmeric They ran out of mash potatoes in the beginning of their dinner service The best thing was their Hayadari or labneh and their fresh baked Pita

Went here for a family lunch for eight. We ordered baba ganoush, calamari, the appetizer sampler, Platter Two, tiramisu, and an oven browned rice pudding to share. Even though the platters are meant for 4 – 5 people, the food was more than enough for all of us, especially since we were greeted with a huge(and delicious) complimentary flatbread. The lamb chops from the platter were my favorite — tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. I also really enjoyed the bulgar included with the platter. The calamari was also perfectly fried and surprisingly tender — definitely one of the best I’ve had. It was my first time having ganoush, and I personally was not a fan, but that had nothing to do with the quality of the food. The desserts were just mediocre. The mascarpone in the tiramisu was frozen — not sure if it was meant to be that way? The service was wonderful. Our waiter was friendly and joked around with us, and the owner himself came to chat with us. He told us a bit about Turkish history and even jokingly told us we could stay at his house if we ever came to visit! However, service was a bit slow once the place got busier. The ambience was pleasant and aesthetically pleasing — the walls and serviettes were fittingly turquoise, and lovely Turkish art bedecked the place. Overall, I would recommend Turquoise if you want to try some authentic and yummy Turkish fare!

Been coming here for a couple of years. The food has definitely gone down and so has the service. The dishes are skimpy, cold and unappealing. I most likely won’t be back again.

Merhaba! This place was excellent at its Kirby location and even more excellent at the Sugar Land location. The food here is hard to beat. Especially since its main competition is Italian and Mexican fare, which lacks the wonderful quality and spice of a good Turkish dish. This place has a great menu and the owner is one of the nicest men you will ever meet. You can see he love his work by the way he cares about the small details and his welcoming personality keeps people coming back. He also airs futbol games which brings customers in as well. As far as specifics, the wines from Turkey are delicious and the Lahmacun is excellent. The other Turkish dishes are great too, including the Sultan Beyti Kebab which I order most of the time. The restaurant also includes a bar, so I imagine it is good for happy hour. The only way to go wrong is to order something traditionally American like Salmon… Not that it’s bad, as it is quite tasty. But why order something you can get everywhere in America? I think this is on the menu for people who play it safe. As we should all know now: Turkish people don’t eat bad food. So try something new here if you aren’t familiar with Turkish food because it is one of the best food cultures in the world. I have had people go and regret not ordering the Turkish specialties on the menu, and they were regretting it after they saw the food come out. I know many Turkish people, and people familiar with the food, would likely argue Turkish food is THE best food culture in the world because of its many years of rich culture and tradition, and not to mention its transcontinental location that has exposed it to a variety of other food cultures. And it is a compelling argument. The food at Turquoise Grill is good evidence to start with.

Greek salad was good and fresh. Red Lentil soup was good. Soujuk Pide was bland; do not recommend. Spinach Feta Calzone was delicious and full of flavor. Looking forward to trying other things on the menu.
