I called Harper Services on Friday morning to setup an appointment for them to survery the work I had in mind for my home and get back to me with an estimate. When I called, it was obvious that I’d woken him up, Alan, I assume. He sounded fairly disoriented. Odd for a working man on a Friday morning around 9 am. We setup the appointment for Monday at noon. On Monday, having not received a confirmation phone call, I phoned him at 11 am to confirm. Alan said he had scheduled me for the upcoming Saturday instead. My husband and I do not conduct any sort of business on Saturdays, so that was most definitely his mistake. Anyway, trying to be flexible, I rescheduled with him for Tuesday(today) at 11:30. Today, again no confirmation phone call, but since I’d called to confirm the day before, I figured it wasn’t a big deal. I reach my home at the appointed time, 11:30. Alan is not there. I proceed to make my lunch and try to be patient. At 11:45, still without a phone call, I called him to make sure he wasn’t lost or something hadn’t happened. I got his voicemail, and left a message that I would stick around until noon, but after that I’d head back to work. I waited until 12:15, but he never showed up and never bothered to phone me. This is a very unprofessional way to run a business. This was his third strike. I will obviously not be recommending this business nor will I bother trying to reschedule. This resulted in two botched lunch hours and 30 minutes wasted time away from work.
