DoubleDave’s Pizzaworks – Sugar Land

The best pizza I’ve had in Sugar Land. I was starting to think there weren’t any good pizza places until my cousin brought me here. We also got the cinnastix desert pizza and it was amazing! It reminded me of the Godfather’s dessert pizza. We ate there last night and the pizza was so good that we’re getting more tonight. Service was great also.

New owners — great attitude and wonderful pies !!! Texas pizza and drinks makes for a family atmosphere as well as a place to watch the game and have a beer. I recommend for social functions school events and after church lunch plans

Get the pepperoni rolls they are amazing. Fast delivery. Great price. I order from here all the time.

OMG! We drove from South Houston to get our DD’s fix. We made it their like 15 minutes before the buffet was closed. Gil at the counter was so AWESOME! He said he noticed us running from the parking lot. Gil asked did we want anything special that wasn’t already on the line, but he did tell us what he had coming out. Told us about the new/​monthly Smore’s pizza. He even had a fresh one coming out soon. We were never rushed out, nor did they start cleaning the line before hand. It’s always a good experience at Double Dave’s!

Excellent lunch buffet with quality choices. Food is well prepared and the staff is friendly.

Ordered two dozen pepperoni rolls on Sunday– five of them had no pepperoni; just some kind of spicy cheese. That had never happened before. Yuck.

The pizza and pizza rolls still kick ass, great service and nice employees. As good or better than any pizza in the area, give this place another shot if you haven’t been on a while.

Oh man do I love double daves! I remember how much I missed this spot when they closed for remodeling a few months ago. My personal recommendation is the Philly cheesesteak pizza with onions and green peppers. Hits the spot every time!

Cost: $ 10 and some change for Sunday buffet and drink.
Pros: all u can eat buffet with numerous pizzas, Philly calazone, desert pizza & salad bar.
6 – 7 TVs to catch the game
Choc-​O-​chip dessert pizza tasted like a fairly good cookie. Was the high point of a poor experience.
Staff was pleasant and announced every pie as it was being placed on the buffet.
Cons:
Thin crust pepperoni isn’t as good as a frozen jacks pizza IMO. Not much taste and HANDMADE crust was average at best
Pepperoni Roll: dough, not very spicy or good tasting pepperoni, and cheese. Ate 2 bites of a 5−6″ long roll. Had to bail
Philly Calazone had way to much butter on dough and maker was heavy handed with the garlic salt. Honestly was borderline inedible
Ate 2 pieces of pepperoni thin crust, 1 piece of handtossed cheese, 2 bites of pepperoni roll, 1 piece chocolate desert pizza and two slices (1″ x 3″) Philly calazone.
Went there because it got pretty good reviews from Unilocal members. Some went even went as far as saying the best pizza they’ve had in the area. I wasn’t expecting a life altering pizza buffet for less than $ 11 but i will never return to Double Daves. It was not the least bit good and I walked out feeling somewhat sick from the butter & garlic calazone overload.
If u want the best pizza that I have personally had in Sugar Land the head to Grimaldi’s Pizza. It cost a little more and isn’t a buffet but it is the best pizza I have ever had in my entire life. It is better than the world renowned Lou Malnatis in Chicago IMO. It will be my go to from now on. Wish Double Dave’s success, but the basic pizzas there are bland and lack flavor and the right amount of crust to chew ratio. As mentioned before, tone down the garlic on the Philly calazone

Been to this place several times. The food is decent, however the quality is very inconsistent. I typically only come in for their lunch buffets.
Some times they’ll have several fresh gourmet pizzas on the buffet tables, and some times the pizza selection will be poor, and sometimes dried up by the heat lamp.
Prices are average for a pizza joint. Service is good, however the only thing that could use a little improvement is they don’t seem to have active table bussers like some other places, i’ve seen tables with plates piled up and nobody cleans off the table until the people are gone.
I would love to give this place a higher rating, however as I said they have work to do keeping up consistency.

The guys working there were fabulous and the food was wonderful! I would go back more often but I enjoy it to much therefore eating to much, so I will only be able to visit occasionally. Never ever will I go to a CiCi’s pizza again. Also they have the option of dine in without the buffet and daily specials! The Philly cheese steak calzone it the best!

Came here on a whim wirh the Hubbs and it was definitely a pleasant surprise… fresh and Good Pizza, clean restaurant, and friendly staff!

I have lived in Houston for 9 years this is the BEST Pizza I have had since I have lived here– cant wait to go back! The Pizza is fantastic, the service is fantastic and the atmosphere is wonderful! These guys really have it together. Very reasonably priced.

I have been to this location many times and it was ok, but not great. Went in today and WOW! They either have a new owner or manager, but they have stepped up their game. The staff (everyone of them) was friendly, engaging and seemed to really care. The place was really clean and they kept the buffet nicely stocked. It was more crowded than I have ever seen it, so people must be noticing the improvement. Keep it up as I will come more often now.

I’ve loved Double Dave’s since college in the 90s for their pepperoni rolls. We’ve been coming to this location for 4 years since it is now the nearest location to us.
Under the previous ownership, the food was still good but the place pretty run down (needed new paint, bathrooms not very clean, etc). I’ve noticed some reviews here commenting on it not being very nice, and that is certainly true under the old ownership.
The new owner took over around September 2014, repainted, fixed up the bathrooms, and just gave the place a thorough cleaning. I wasn’t even aware it had changed owners, but noticed how much nicer it was one time and commented on it to the new owner.
The food is still good, but you can feel a pride of ownership in the place now, which is really great to see. They even put out a basket of apples with a sign saying to take one with you for a snack later in the day. Totally unnecessary, but a really nice touch.
Great to see this location back to great condition as I teach my 7 year old the joys of having a nice pizza joint nearby, as well as me getting to visit an old college haunt.
Keep up the good work guys!

First time at DD’s and what a great experience that was! Now under new management they seem to go above and beyond in terms of customer service!
My father and I visited on a Tuesday to squash our pizza cravings.
We entered and were greeted by the staff with a very warm welcome. The manager then told us about their specials and actually up-​sized our pizza to the largest size! Very cool!
We had the hand tossed original 18″ meat lovers pizza with 12 pepperoni rolls and a chocolate chip pizza for dessert. All for $ 35! Including two drinks! Great deal!
The pizza was delicious. Very fresh and they were very generous with the toppings.
We haven’t been able to sample the chocolate chip pizza yet, because we are so stuffed, but it does look delicious!
Also, on a side note, their restrooms are very clean and come equipped with a soap and hand sanitizer dispenser.
Will definitely return!

Now re — open under new management. The pizza is better than before. Salad bar better 5 than before.

I think they’re outta biz?

I love this place. My boys and I come here every Sunday for the buffet. Most pizza buffets are horrible (Cici’s) but this place puts out fresh pizza made with real ingredients. It’s also a good value at $ 9.70 and included a soft drink or draft beer. The staff is very friendly, especially the young lady that works the counter.
My only complaint is the heat lamps are to hot and ruin the pizza after about 10 minutes. The pies are great right when they come out but not so good after sitting on the buffet.
