Very convenient location with lots of parking. The waiter was very knowledgeable in explaining the menu. Variety of sushi but a bit pricey.

Excellent food, generous portions and thoughtful service. I’ve most recently visited for lunch and had a noodle bowl. It was fantastic — and I’d highly recommend!

Went on a Saturday afternoon. Was a little pricey and the fish(particularly the mackerel) wasn’t that fresh. Bummer as Fugakyu is generally considered one of the better sushi establishments.

It shocks me that anyone would choose to go here over Oishii Too, just down the road in Sudbury. The quality is fine but nothing extraordinary. I’ll admit the only times I’ve been are on Mondays when Oishii is closed!

Used to go to this place for sushi all the time. Unfortunately my office relocated so I had to find a new place for lunch… Anyway, at Fugakyu, the food and service speak for themselves. The place is bright and very clean. I usually order the Sumo Combo or a bento box for lunch. Portions are just right and the price is fair for the quality of food you are getting. Be sure to save room for their green tea fried ice cream!

We went there twice last month, both on Saturday for lunch, after attended a family event nearby. The bento box was great, in both quantify and quality, we ordered 6 different types so far, really enjoyed their house special bento box. The only reason I gave 4 star instead of 5, was because of it took longer than expected to get the bento box, although it wasn’t crowded in weekend. I would definitely come back again. But sushi is not my favorite, so my review is for bento box only.

Rude sevice, We asked to sit at an unoccupied window seat and they said they were for larger parties 45 minutes later they sat a woman and a child at the window all others still open, on the way out we mentioned that to the management and she blew us off with out a real answer she obviously knew the person and ignored our needs so if you aren’t friends with the manager go to Feng in Hudson or Lavender in Sudbury Much Much better.

Used to love it here but the quality has deteriorated. Sushi is far too cold and is no longer melt in your mouth sadly.

For some reason this place is way less expensive than the Brookline location. And for the same quality food! The ambiance is not quite as nice but it’s fast, with great service. Good soup. Great tempura, ahi, and cali rolls. Menu could be a little more adventurous i.e. mango etc. in their rolls. But overall a good place for sushi and I would not give 3 $$$, more like 2.

The service was impeccable. The salmon terriyaki was over cooked and/or not good quality.

The fish was fresh, the service was good, but all of the food lacked flavor. I can appreciate the craftsmanship behind the sushi counter; all of the sushi was cut precisely and very pretty, the sushi rice had no vinegar at all. That is essential to the correct flavor balance. Perhaps this is an «Americanized» way to serve sushi, but it really kills the experience of eating it. Also, the shitake miso was clever, but the mushrooms were not cooked enough to release their wonderful flavor — again an insipid taste experience. I wanted to like Fugakyu, because they do a lot of things right. But sadly they let me down in the most important category: flavor. The search continues…

Last time I came here I vowed never again… damn, this place is overpriced! And the sushi is not that good. Also, we got the expensive deluxe sushi for two thing that they have there, and it was«chef’s choice» — it was a huge rip off for not only the amount of sushi served, but also the fish and shellfish they chose for the platter. I really almost complained to the management, I was utterly disappointed and underwhelmed. To the extent that I’ll never be here again. Takara is better. Also the spicy tuna rolls here are all crunchies and they suck!

You can tell if a place is a good sushi place right away — when they have no idea what real wasabi is. We asked for fresh wasabi — they made us more of the crappy paste that everyone serves at wanna be sushi restaurants. The food was fast. The parking is tricky especially if you have to park in the rear. Polite, friendly service. Soda water was $ 2.00 a glass — we bought lots of drinks — I was the DD — so no alcohol for me — but soda water — $ 2.00 per glass really. The food lacked real flavor. All the fish is in a display case — that’s another tell of a wanna be sushi restaurant is if the keep the fish in the display case getting dried out. Disappointed. Might eat there again if it was the last sushi place on the planet.

One of my best friends for H2OTown moved to Sudbury and I made the trek with the family to go visit. Since my oldest was leaving to go back to college the next day, we let him choose the type of food for dinner and he went with what everyone likes in our household … sushi. I have a favorite place in my town which gets rave review on Unilocal too so my standards were a little high but this place rocked. Everything I tried was spot on. The appetizers were perfect and the sushi was spot on(even my favorite sweet potato tempura sushi was a hit). I was not in a major sushi mood so I got the bento box of chicken teriyaki. The sauce was good and not cloying. The chicken was tender and not dried out and probably got my sushi place beat. The prices were a bit higher than my place but we went for lunch and those prices were very reasonable … Very pleased to have a place out this way to visit.

Fugakyu in Sudbury serves really fresh, hand-crafted sushi with some terrific personal touches on the makimono rolls. Our favorite is the spicy seafood miso soup, which we can’t resist on a cold winter day. The customer service is great as well — our waitstaff remembers what we ordered last and always come with new recommendations to fit our tastes. Hands down, our favorite restaurant in Sudbury — sushi or otherwise.

Amazing, really delicious. Great service, reasonable prices and very quick. Pretty place, too. I’ve been so many times, at least 30 times in the past four years I’ve lived in Sudbury and by far it is my favorite restaurant. Some of my favorite foods to order: — Bowl of noodles and steak — Gyoza — Teriyaki chicken I’m not a sushi person, but I always have many choices, too. It’s a very good place for kids, too… The waiters are all very nice and one is very funny, too!

Good sushi. Not my absolute favorite(like Feng Hudson or Oishii) but good sushi. Johnson L was a DELIGHTFUL server, and we went with one of his recommendations. I had never had a sushi roll with sweet potato in it — DELICIOUSLY crispy and creamy — sweet and savory in a roll. We ordered the duck tataki this time, and even though the duck was chewy, it didn’t lack flavor — steep at $ 12.50 but had about 8 slices of rare, cold served duck that were very flavorful. Food does not lack flavor. Rice is cooked a bit on the wetter side, but I like that much more than dry hard«old» rice some other places in Worcester use. Noodle soups are flavorful and light despite how LARGE the serving!

A much larger space inside than what you would think from the outside. The menu was quite large and although I do eat sushi I was in the mood for some hot soup. I got a huge bowl of udon noodles in a flavorful broth called the FuGaKyu Noodle Special all for $ 14! I got the seafood and it came with quite the variety. The soft shell crab tempura was also really great. Mr. G got a dish which was surprisingly sweet. It was good for the first few bites but then became a little too much. The kids got the usual Calif roll, edamame and seaweed salad which were all good and gobbled up. I did find the overall prices a bit higher than I had expected but for those special occasions this was a nice find.

**TAKEOUTREVIEW**** Because Super Fusion is so very far away, Fugakyu is my new go-to place out west. Had spicy tuna maki twice now. Second time around was a lot better and spicier(which I love). The original makes it with scallion on the outside, but I requested sesame 2nd time and liked it a lot better. Crazy Maki(shrimp tempura) was really tasty as was the mushroom maki. The person taking my order on the phone was so friendly, helpful and nice. The inside is super clean with a sushi bar that seats 4 – 6 people? and then there is a small seating area and one large open room. P. S. I like their to-go chopsticks! They’re better than average ones you usually get at other places. Plus, they have low-sodium soy sauce!
