Came here for lunch with a co worker and we were both pretty impressed by this tiny joint. First off the parking is bad. At a busy intersection and sharing with a bunch of other businesses. We walked over a few blocks from where we were working but I noticed the parking lot is limited. The place is tucked away in a mini mall. Has only 4 tables of 4seats. Maybe u can cram 3 on the booth sides. But seating is limited. I called in the order 30 mins before because I expect to have to WAIT for freshly made food. Mind you this is not KFC. We showed up about 10 mins late. The man behind the counter said the food is almost ready. He had prepared the chicken but waited to cook up the fries because he didn’t want to serve em cold. I ordered the chicken strips with Cole slaw and my buddy did the buffalo wings and fries. The chicken strips were great. Large thick pieces in a tasty rub, cooked perfectly and not dried out like ALL chicken tenders are. The Cole slaw was good with a slight tang of southern vinegar making it not too sweet. The buffalo wings were a good sized wings and drums, the buffalo sauce had a nice kick to it but not enough to linger and burn too long. And the big basket of fries, with a shaken seasoning on them were great! They have hot sauce on the side and it was very tasty. And I don’t usually do hot sauces. Their bbq sauce was very strong herb tasting. I didn’t care for it but it was something defiantly different. And for all that it and drinks was around $ 22. Very reasonably priced for the quality, quantity and taste. For a tiny place in studio city, I was pleased. I’d like to try their larger chicken, ribs and other sides another time. People, sometimes the best doesn’t come fast, but is always worth the wait

Excellent BBQ and fried chicken. Red beans and rice are on point too. This is unpretentious Southern cooking at its best — family run and operated. My kids said the chicken and waffles are better that Roscoe’s — easily. We got the combo plate with yams and red beans and rice, and 2 orders of chicken and waffles for the kids. Everyone was super happy. With all the fancy/expensive BBQ places opening up around the Valley it’s nice to find real and authentic food — plus our bill was only $ 40 and we were stuffed!

Yes the service is pretty abysmal but the food makes up for it. Definitely call ahead. Try and call early for the gumbo on Fridays. Full of shrimp, sausage, and crab legs. Really delicious. Their fried chicken is awesome. I tend to go for the fried chicken sandwich which is served po boy style. Great spot for great Food.

I never knew BBQ – not prepared from following some secret, sacred family recipe in my family’s backyard – could taste so delicious! I got the tri-tip dinner because it came with 2 sides(I ordered greens and potato salad) and I was in lunchtime heaven. I hate store bought potato salad and have only crossed paths with a few people who actually have a greens recipe so I usually stick with meat at BBQ places and if I had done the same here I would have missed out. Let’s be clear though, this place is tiny. Definitely not a dine-in recommendation, but the food is DELICIOUS! And that is what this review is about, helping you eat some great BBQ!

This is the only place in North Hollywood or the valley where I will have barbecue. It taste like your mom made for you. I always get a quarter chicken white meat with no skin I think I might be kind of famous for my order, and it’s the best thing every single time. The macaroni and cheese is awesome. I also like the two guys who work there Marcus and Joseph. Owners?! They always have a smile for ya. Go there you won’t be disappointed. By the way you will have to wait for your food. Nothing is premade there you have to wait 25 — 30 minutes for your chicken breast to cook/barbecue. It’s all home made from scratch. If you know you’re going you can call in the order and They will have it ready for you. Also great to go. I’ve been to a lot of other barbecues and none of them really hold up to this one and I’m a picky client. Lol

Went there for dinner on Friday night 11÷20÷15 and I should have left when the lady said that they were out of gumbo and it wasn’t even 6 o’clock got the catfish nuggets instead. Took almost a hour and a half to get it. Got home and my fish was black they cooked it in dirty grease. Will not recommend nor order anymore.

A friend of mine asked me to pick up some food from this place. She called in the order and let me know that it would be 45 minutes before the food was ready. It seemed a bit odd that a fast food order would take 45 minutes. I was only about 15 minutes from the place so I decided to head over and check it out. Upon arrival, there were two parties sitting inside eating and another person placing an order. I walked to the counter and asked about the called-in order and was told that it would be at least another 20 minutes before it was ready. This was my first time here so I asked if this was normal. The one and only man cooking must have gotten offended. He replied, «I told her on the phone that it was going to be 45 minutes, I have a catering order that has to go out first.» I refuse to wait 45 minutes for mediocre( Unilocal rating) fast food when the staff is rude and accusatory. It is unfortunate that they lost a customer simply from their lack of customer service.

Uncle Andres saved my life around 8pm 10÷19÷15. It was a long day at work. I needed barbeque. Not the fancy ish. Some good olé fashion porch barbeque. Some family reunion barbeque. Some of Uncle Andres ribs or Aunt Melba’s. I definitely didn’t want any«southern style» no salt barbeque. He deliverrrrrrrreeeeed. Well, not really. I picked up. But he deliverrrrrrrreeeeed on taste. The barbeque melted in my mouth. Baby my baby back ribs. I am loving and living because of you. #lifesaved #homecooking #hashtag I was happier than a skinny girl in LA. And the baked beans and Mac complimented each other quite nicely as well. Honestly, I could of passed on the greens and what taste like CANNED yams.(My grandmother would be ashamed). But er thing else was(yes I said«er» if you got a problem wit it … nevermind). Yes I had some good Q tonight. Thanks Uncle Andre. And the lemonade was just nostalgic.

I decided to come here after work on a Friday because I remembered that’s when they have gumbo. I ordered a large gumbo($ 17) and the half chicken dinner($ 12). I had to wait almost 30 minutes for the food to be ready. I do like the fact that you don’t have to pay until the food is ready. The fried chicken looked burnt, but it’s not. Not sure if it’s because I did take-out, but the chicken wasn’t as crispy as I would have liked. There was still a crunch, but not like what you get at Church’s or Popeyes. I also ordered the mac n cheese and red beans & rice. The chicken was quite tasty, but on the salty side. It was moist and not dry at all. It’s definitely not the best I’ve had. I prefer Church’s more. The mac n cheese is also salty. Nothing that wowed me. The red beans & rice was ok. The beans are on the sweet side, like baked beans. The gumbo was probably the highlight of the meal. Although it was salty, I still liked it and the side of rice that came with it lightened the saltiness a bit. There was a lot of shrimp and sausage in the soup. I will come back here for the gumbo. But if I want good fried chicken, I will go to Sweet Mo’s on Lankershim. Maybe I’ll try their ribs next time. By the way, they charge $.50 for credit card usage. Parking can be a bitch as the lot is small and it shares it with at least 6 or 7 other tenants. Street parking is pretty much non-existent.

The fried chicken here phenomenal! Please order it, the flavor is absolutely perfect. This is a small business so those complaining of wait time have to consider all the food being prepared by one person in the kitchen(from what I could see). The owner is so nice and accommodating, if you don’t have time to wait definitely place a phone order. It’s totally worth it!

Cheap and good BBQ! Good fries, too. Service isn’t stellar, but it’s fine with advance ordering and take-out. I’ll definitely be back!

Amazing delicious food. The service is definitely amazing but the wait time can be a factor, when deciding where to spend my money. Definitely the best bbq spot in the valley. I will definitely visit back, just not as often as I would like because of the wait time.

I had to wait an hour for my food on a very busy night but damn was it good. I was annoyed at first having to wait so long but you cannot rush perfection. I got 8 chkn wings, boneless beef rib dinner with mac n cheese n collard greens, and a pulled chicken sandwich with fries and shared all of that with my gf. The fried chicken was a symphony of pepper-y flavor in every bite. The beef was so perfect, i legit teared up a little. Mac n cheese was heavy as hell, but the bites i had were fantastic, I’m not that into collard greens but my gf says they were her favorite. Sandwich was good, fries were crisp and well seasoned(no soggy potato bs here). Would definitely come back, and will do it soon.

This BBQ place is epic! Why oh why did it take so long to finally eat here? Uncle Andres’ has been under our noses for 25 years! The food is amazing, the music is perfect, and Linda, the owner, is as delightful as can be :-) We will definitely be regulars that’s for sure!

I really, really, really LOVE Uncle Andre’s BBQ. It’s one of my favorite hole in the wall BBQ joints. It’s not really a sit down restaurant, it has a couple of table and chairs and a window into the kitchen where you place your order. The smells that come out of that kitchen are mouth wateringly delicious. I can’t even begin to describe. If you don’t call in your oder ahead of time, be prepared to wait, but let me tell you, the wait is totally worth it. Here a few items that I would highly recommend: the baby back ribs, the fried chicken(the juiciest fried chicken I’ve ever had), and the hot links. I LOVE the hot links. Just the right amount of heat, and with the BBQ sauce? PERFECTION. Also, the fries are perfectly crispy and the baked beans? Dead. So good. Sweet, a little salty. The perfect baked beans. Why not five full stars? The last time we were there, the BBQ sauce was a little«fruity». The Tri-Tip Sandwich was a little too salty, and slightly chewy. Maybe it was a one time deal? But don’t let that stop you. Can’t wait to go back for some more hot links and fried chicken. Remember, calling in your order will save you a lot of time!

Ribs, brisket, hot links and chicken combo with 2 sides is usually my go to meal because I’m greedy like that. They do BBQ right and I’m even more ecstatic that they’re right around the corner. Parking is kinda whack, since it’s in a small strip mall, but street parking is usually available. I wish they had more beverages, but I’m not complaining one bit about this place.

First time I tried this place and I loved it. Anybody that whines about the wait time, especially for the fried chicken, it takes time to make fried chicken and it’s worth the wait. 3 nice sized pieces and 2 sides for 7.50 means you get 1 meals out of it. I can’t wait to eat the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Highly recommend this joint!

I came here to have a quick dinner before I had to go to work. As I walked in to this tiny spot with only a handful of tables, I noticed that I was the only person in here during dinner time. Score! No wait time as others have mentioned in other reviews. I ordered the shredded chicken sandwich, which came with seasoned fries. The total was about $ 8-$ 9. I should have known that the sandwich would consist of bread, chicken, and BBQ sauce. Nevertheless, the chicken itself was juicy and the BBQ sauce was tangy with a little bit of sweetness. They had my favorite kind of fries(a little bit thicker than skinny fries). I really enjoyed my meal and it was under $ 10. I’ll definitely return to check out the other items.
