We waited 40 minutes for our food and once we received our meals, they were not warm to touch. The burgers were pink to a reddish color, which had we been asked how we like our burgers cooked we would have said well done. Ok, so our fault for not speaking up. Once we received our meal the server did not come back to check to see how we liked it. Upon clearing the plates the silver wear was spilled on our shirt, the hostess attempted to make up for it by offering free dessert– which was the best part of our meal, only now have a stained shirt… Accidents happen. I think overall it was the feeling of poor service that fuels our 2 star rating. Others were seated well after us and they received their food far before we did. We did not have a reservation, we waited 1 hour for this experience. Sincerely, Hotel Guests

Our server, Jeremy, was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO slow! It took 15 min(we timed it) for our server to ask us for our drink order. By that time, we were ready to give our food order. It took another 20 minutes after we had been waiting to get our check before he finally came over. We ask him for our check and he starts wiping tables and taking more orders before he brings the check. This other server was rocking her tables. This party of six sat down and had their food and drinks in less time than it took our server to come to our table for the first time. It was awful awful speed and service. Come on. Food was actually good despite everything else. Omg. Still here. Might die a slow death before we get our check and get out of here. Help… me…

Staying at Lodge and decided to grab a bite. Lots of folks there for a convention and a wedding. We had a cup of chowder, split a Caprese pizza and split dessert, lemon cheesecake. Had one beer as well. $ 50.00 including tax and our tip. Would do it again, food was delicious and service was great. Noise level, pretty loud, our fault for sitting close to the bar.

I had a cup of the salmon chowder and split the sliders, all of it was delicious and the ambiance was very casual and laid back for being an upscale establishment. My kiddo had some really really cheesy Mac and cheese, can’t complain at all about the experience. The view was great from the patio and we really enjoyed walking around the grounds afterward.

Above average food at fairly reasonable prices. Ordered the Bison Burger along with the Garlic Fries. Great beer selection, good service and a breathtaking view!

We stopped by for a beer at the River Rock. I am giving them 4 stars for their service and the knowledge of their bar tender. He was very attentive and described all the local beers on tap, and was genuinely interested in our feedback. Great little bar with bar food, and a great view of the gorge.

My wife and I have stayed at Skamania Lodge many times, and should know by now to avoid the River Rock restaurant. We took a drive up from Portland yesterday, and were once again disappointed in the food and service in the restaurant. It took about forty minutes to get our food, bowl of chili and a steak salad. I had the steak salad which consisted of a large plate of greens, one cherry tomato cut in half and three small, overcooked pieces of steak. One piece was all fat. The salad was $ 16.00. Like I said, I should have known better. Shame on me…

The cocktails were over-priced and over-sweetened. The wine was also overpriced, and the options were at best mediocre. The mushroom snack plate had some strong, strange, almost-inedible flavor I couldn’t identify, but the truffle fries were tasty.

We were here at the lodge for a marriage retreat provided by the Army. We were on our own for dinner Saturday night and my husband and I were dying to try to the River rock fries! It was my husband, 15 and 7 year old boys and myself. The service was amazing, our waiter was SO patient with us because I couldn’t decide what to order. My 7 year old ordered the kids Mac n Cheese which he devoured, my 15 year old had the Bison burger and before I could ask for a taste it was gone! Now my husband and I, we ordered the Hummus, the Land & Sea, The Grilled Portabella burger, with an upgrade to those yummy River rock fries and the Dungeness Crab Gibson. We were blown away by the tastes, the plating was very well done, the only thing I did not care for was the spicy Hunan sauce they served with the Land and sea plate, but that’s just me. The desserts were delish also, my boys had some chocolate crème something or other but they once again had it gone before I got my spoon. And since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary they gave us dessert on the house with a beautiful presentation. We did get to pick our dessert so that was nice. We had the Huckleberry Crème Brulee, it was Devine and my husband ordered us a nice Riesling to go with. Thanks to the staff here you all were fabulous and I’m looking forward to coming back in the future!

Came here for a late afternoon snack and to watch the 2nd half of the Ducks game last saturday. Services was extremely friendly and the food was decent and well priced. I would absolutely recommend this place.
