We still take our dogs here and wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. They are some of the nicest, most compassionate, capable, wonderful people you will ever meet. I can’t say enough good things about Dr Pope and Dr Fox and how hard they have worked to take good care of our dogs during some scary situations. The entire staff is incredible and will love and care for your pets like they are their own.

Very much appreciate the kindness and professionalism of all staff from front desk to techs and vet. Our cat was diagnosed with diabetes and everyone was patient with our questions and concerns. No charge for a «hands on» tutorial on giving her insulin shots. Staff obviously care about animals and have experience in treating them. Highly recommend.

Do not go here they are such a rip off and just want your money. We took our puppy to get his first vaccinations which was 26 $ and asked if they could clip his nails which was an additional 20 $ that they didn’t tell us till after. and within 30 minutes he threw up so we called them and asked if we should bring him back in and they said they highly recommend we come back just to make sure he is okay so we did and they looked at him for not even 5 minutes and said he was fine and wanted to charge us 45 $ with a medicine for 30 $!!! We will no longer be coming back.

My most favorite vet I’ve ever been too. There service is great and they really seem to care about the animals.

The last reason you ever want to go to the vet is because it’s time to put your dog to sleep. We decided not to go to our regular vet because the doctor there didn’t seem at all sympathetic while we were going through the treatment and surgery of our sweet Bailey’s struggle with cancer. It felt like we were just another number. The doctor even made a comment once about how he missed his lunch because the surgery took so long.
So based on positive Unilocal reviews, and our initial conversation over the phone with the Stevenson Ranch Veterinary Center, we decided to go there. I wish we would have discovered this place sooner. Everyone was absolutely wonderful. No matter what putting your dog to sleep is not a good experience but I think the staff made it as good as it could possibly be.
From the moment we arrived, everyone was so kind. Dr. Jennifer Riedel loved and hugged and even sat on the floor with Bailey. She explained the whole process to us. She left us in a clean room with a fluffy doggy bed to allow us and Bailey to be comfortable and have some time alone. She even gave us some treats and a can of Easy Cheese. Bailey was so happy and excited; we played with her and gave her some treats and tried to remain happy and laugh until the sedative helped her become extremely relaxed and almost asleep. They left a wireless doorbell and told us whenever we were ready for the Dr. to return and complete the process, to just ring the bell. This was so no one would keep interrupting us during our final moments to see when we were ready. A small thing right… but, so thoughtful on their end. We said a little prayer, then pressed the button on the doorbell. When Dr. Riedel returned, she slowly gave Bailey the final injection. Bailey then was completely sedated and then slowly Dr. Riedel gave her more until she peacefully passed on. She left us to grieve and told us to take as much time as we needed.
Two days later we received a sympathy card in the mail along with the most beautifully framed cardstock image of Bailey’s paw print. I wish I could post a picture of it; it was so sweet. It was hand written and signed by Dr. Riedel herself.
We are so incredibly happy to have found this place and although the experience of losing our dog is not a good one, the manner in which everything was handled was perfect.

We brought a very sad shelter puppy to visit Dr Pope and company, straight from the shelter many years ago. Our Sadie continued to be under the care of Stevenson Ranch Vet ever since that first day!
Dr Pope and friends have been such a blessing to us and we are INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL for all their support and wisdom for the past 16 years!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Stevenson Ranch Vet! They are the most attentive and companionate vet, and their nursing staff is great too!

Wow what a difference in how they made us feel welcomed here at Stevenson Ranch Vet. Unlike the other place we had visited a few weeks ago. The vet at the other place barely spoke English and didn’t give me a lot of information. I felt he just wanted to run tests and the tab up. I’m so glad we came to Stevenson ranch vet. We felt welcomed and informed. We also felt that the Vet Dr Jennifer Riedel we saw was very caring with our fur baby. Thank you Dr Jennifer Riedel for reassuring us that there are vets out there who really do truly care.
We had to bring our cat back and she was in pretty bad shape. Dr Pope not only comforted me but she helped my kitty to get back where she needed to be. They are very sweet and compassionate. They were there for us in our time of need. It’s been a horrible year but they helped bring some sunshine to our lives by helping our kitty get healthy again. We are grateful. Thanks for the rainbow on a cloudy day!!!

I came in on an emergency basis. Dr. Fox was so helpful. Very nice staff and upfront about all costs. Highly recommend.

When it comes to our animals, quality care is most important to us. We have been using SRVC for years because the are best. We trust Dr. Pope and she has been very thorough when caring for our dogs. Recently we had an emergency with one of our dogs. We took him to an advanced 24 hour emergency vet. Although good, they cannot compare to the quality of care we received from SRVC.

I had just moved to Stevenson Ranch and needed to take my two dogs for a checkup. Dr. Riedel was so nice and I felt really safe under her care. The front office staff was great as well. I didn’t feel as the cost was over what I have paid before. Very happy with the results. The called my old vet and got my records very quickly and were able to review them before my visit.

While perhaps my original review was harsh, it was written shortly after a harrowing experience and I think that is important for people to see.
Dr. Pope wrote a very sincere and appropriate reply to the original review, which can be found below attached to it. After some months distance from that awful experience, I appreciate this very much and wanted to make sure to update the review to reflect this. I added a star because I think that her response and the more recent reviews show that maybe our visit won’t be repeated for someone else.
I do feel that our personal experience was described accurately, though. While our concerns over our cat’s symptoms may have been misaligned with standard vet procedure, we were never given a careful explanation of this. The conversation instead seemed cold and dismissive, and my girlfriend never had a grasp of what was happening or why. She didn’t feel that options were discussed, rather «ok now we’ll do this» without any answers to her questions about the symptoms. If we had been there for shots or a checkup, this probably would’ve been fine — we would have been much better equipped to deal with short bits of information and would have processed things much more quickly. But we were terrified that we were losing a member of our family, and I am firm on this review because our experience was terrible and left us even more scared and upset than when my girlfriend walked in.
I hope that our experience and Dr. Pope’s seemingly genuine desire to make things right can help her in the future. Losing a pet is one of the most traumatic things I have ever dealt with. My dog back home (with my parents) in Washington State died of cancer just two months before we lost Olivia, yet that experience was… I guess as close to peaceful as one can get. Our vet back home was very clear, slowly explaining options, and making sure we understood what was happening every step of the way. It is never anything but insanely painful, but a little extra time and care to ensure that our scared and upset brains can somewhat understand options and procedures really goes a long way.
Judging from more recent reviews, it does look like Dr. Pope has shown more caring and understanding during these difficult times. I hope that is a continuing trend.

Dr Pope has been our trusted Veterinarian for years. Her attention to detail and the care she has shown our family members are unmatched. We recently lost the love of our life and Dr Pope helped us through the process, returning calls at all hours and keeping our loved one comfortable. When the end came, it was Dr Pope who helped us through it again. Her caring and compassion helped us all through a very difficult time.
Now we have a new member of the family and we wouldn’t go to anyone else! Our family will continue to rely on Dr Pope and her wonderful staff for all of our Veterinary needs. We look forward to many healthy, happy years with our new baby and we know Dr Pope will be there with us every step of the way!

We’re relatively new to SRVC, but recently had to have our cat euthanized there after battling kidney failure. I wrote about or compassionate experience with Dr. Fox here:

My wife and I have been bringing our dogs to Stevenson Ranch Veterinary Center for a little over eight years. Our dogs have received excellent care — the staff and doctors show genuine concern for my dogs, and there is a lot of love in this place.
When I take my dogs for unexplained problems (a limp, a cough, lethargy, etc.), the veterinarians are very thorough during the examination. In most cases, the doctor always asks me if I want a certain test (although I concede I’ve never been told the price of one at the time it’s recommended) and gives me the opportunity to refuse it. I rarely refuse since we have pet insurance, and anything that will help determine my dog’s problem is worth it to me.
Sometimes there can be a bit of a wait when an emergency patient comes in and preempts my appointment, but generally I get seen at the time for which I’ve been scheduled.
SRVC is not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. The equipment is modern, all records are computerized (including X-​rays and exam reports), the exam rooms are appropriately isolated so pets can feel safe during all the poking and prodding, the staff always has a smile for me and my dogs when we arrive (even on those extremely busy days when everyone’s pet suddenly has an emergency problem), and the surrounding area is clean, safe, and upscale.
Perhaps the parking lot could use slightly wider spaces to allow owners to take pets out of their cars’ side doors, but that’s the fault of the landlord, not SRVC.
One additional story — a stray cat decided to adopt my back yard as its home about two years ago, and I wanted to make sure it was safe around children and other animals. So I managed to coax the cat into a crate and took this feral stray to SRVC. The cat was very aggressive and ornery with me, but the veterinarian knew all the tricks and had complete control of the cat, even managing to get a blood sample. Good thing, too, because it turned out the cat had parasites. I paid for a round of vaccinations, and then I bought food and medicine to give to the cat over the course of two weeks. When I brought the cat back (who was now much friendlier having been fed by me for two weeks!), he tested clean for parasites and was healthy. As a result of this excellent care by the veterinarian — who was not afraid to give a feral cat an examination, thank goodness — I was able to find a home for kitty instead of having to take him to the animal shelter (which would not have ended well for the cat).

This place is a money grab. GROSSLY over priced and they are in denial about it. I asked them to be more competitive with the other Vets in the area regarding the costs of their services. I expressed my desire to keep my business here in Stevenson Ranch rather that drive 1.2 miles to Valencia to receive the very same exact service for nearly half the price. Nope, no give… they must make soooo much money off the clients they have that they dont care about losing business from those of us that have the wherewithal to call around and quote another price. Shame on them for letting their neighborhood clients drive across town to save a couple bucks. Btw, they quoted me $ 539 to neuter a 9 month old dog. I had the same procedure done, right down the street, for $ 260. In a facility that is just as clean and professional. Somebody please explain that to me…

I have been taking my dog Boscoe to Stevenson Ranch Veterinary Center since she was a few months old. We have also had the best service care possible from the doctors here. They were able to diagnose her hip dysplasia incredibly early at 7 months, and have always shown the upmost care and concern for my baby.
Dr. Pope in particular is wonderful. She genuinely cares for the animals she treats and recently when I brought Boscoe in because she wasn’t eating, she personally called with the test results (negative) and followed up a couple of days later just to see how she was doing.
Boscoe actually gets excited about going to the vet, which is a testament to how well they treat the animals there.

The first time I went to this vet, I saw Dr. Robbins and she was wonderful. She has a more holistic approach and my dog, Pierre, has a heart murmur so she recommended I give him Omega 3s vs. heart meds since the heart meds have dangerous side effects. Pierre did very well for one year on the Omega 3s.
Then one day he woke up and was having difficulty breathing so I made an immediate appointment for him at the same office but with a new vet. Dr. Robbins was only a visiting vet and was no longer there so I had to see Dr. Braunstein. I had a 10:30 appt. and expressed the urgency to the receptionist. Even so, I had to wait 20 minutes past my appointment time to be seen. Dr. Braunstein had never seen us before and didn’t even bother to read Pierre’s chart before coming in to see him. She told me he had a very serious heart murmur (no kidding, that’s why I was there). I told her his history and asked her to take a few moments to read his chart. I was furious at her lack of care and concern and horrible bedside manner. She ordered chest x-​rays and showed me that Pierre had gone into heart failure. She prescribed heart meds and lasix to relieve the fluid in Pierre’s heart and lungs. This was the only thing she did right.
When Pierre’s prescription ran out, I went in to get a refill and asked for Dr. Pope (she owns the practice) to call me so I could address my concerns. I told the receptionist that I felt nobody cared about my dog or my concerns about Dr. Braunstein. She told me she would have Dr. Pope call me and said they definitely did care. I felt a little better and hoped I could see Dr. Pope at our next visit.
That afternoon I received a call from Dr. Pope’s assistant who gave me a major kissoff. She reinforced the feelings I have about this practice by telling me that Dr. Pope didn’t think she could help Pierre and that he should see a Cardiologist. Well she never even saw him to begin with! I feel that the vets at this practice are uncaring and rushed and don’t bother to get to know the patients or their history. I have never been treated so poorly by a vet. Needless to say, I won’t return here and I’m searching for a new vet.

I started taking my beloved doberman Draven here about 6 months ago for some intestinal issues he was having. I am friends with 3 of the staff members who also love my dog so I wanted to take him somewhere I knew had a caring and knowledgeable staff.
I have been nothing but pleased with Dr. Wheelbarger and the techs here, despite my dog’s diagnosis of metastatic disease. I really appreciate that she has always given me treatment options and not made me feel bad for asking about what reasonable and affordable. The price is what you would expect for medical care, but the service is beyond what you’re paying for. Thank you Dr. Wheelbarger and the staff of SRVC for being SO helpful!
