Coworker has ordered Burek from here multiple times and brought it in, I am a big fan of Eastern European food, and this by far is the best burek I have ever had. Always delicious and my go to now.

This is a family staple for me, it’s a place my family and I would stop after church on Sundays. If you’re looking for authentic eastern European food, this is the place that will make you feel at home. I grew up on this establishment, without a doubt the place I would want my children to experience growing up with as well.

I am a new user to Unilocal, inspired to write reviews due to the recent influx of mediocre meals that have been popping up in numerous«good» restaurants that have been recommended to me. I’ve been to this place between 3 – 5 times on Sundays. The staff is okay, they do check on you occasionally. The breakfast specials are the best thing about this place. Cheap, and you get a lot of different combo options, however, the portions are small. Almost every person ordering from here gets the Burek though. Have not tried it. I decided to get the tuna melt, and it shouldn’t surprise me that all they can properly make is the meat pies. The tuna had some sort of wet substance(possibly mayo?) dripping from the overly toasted bun. It had no flavor, and wasn’t even salty! Left disappointed and not going back for brunch. Not recommended.

I absolutely love this place. It’s not only great food but fantastic service. I can’t believe I never reviewed this spot. Next time I am in, I’ll be sure to snap pictures! I surprisingly haven’t had anything I don’t like… OH, the coffee is good!

It’s an unassuming little diner located at the intersection of 15 Mile and Ryan in Sterling Heights that my family has been going to for years. I can’t believe it, but after all these years I had never actually had the burek straight from the oven because we never thought to call ahead. It was outstanding as usual, but after having the fresh baked burek this time I don’t think I could ever go back to reheated. The burek has the perfect blend of crispy yet chewy crust surrounding layer after layer of delicious doughy phyllo layers. We enjoyed both the cheese and spinach fillings this time around, though you can’t go wrong with any of their bureks. Outside of the various homemade Turkish böreks I grew up on, this is by far the best burek I’ve ever had, and I try to make it back anytime I’m in the area. Also you can buy the burek unbaked so you can bake it at home.

I could’ve swore there was a review of this place before… Anyway, I went here based on what I thought I read here with my only intention being to try the pleskavic. Upon walking into the place, I was approached by the hostess/waitress/cook(who was incredibly nice by the way) & asked if I wanted bourek — I guess they get a lot of carry out orders. I told her I wanted to sit & try the pleskavic. Since she had mentioned the bourek, I figured I might as well give it a shot. I asked for a piece of cheese bourek, too. She then recommended a yogurt drink to accompany the bourek, which I couldn’t turn down since it was a traditional drink to have with bourek. Does anyone else sense lots of upselling here??? I didn’t mind, though. The bourek was awesome — flaky, buttery, & cheesy. There were chewy parts & crusty parts. The texture was great & the flavor even better. I was taken aback by the yogurt drink since it tasted exactly like Lifeway’s plain Kefir. When I asked if it was indeed kefir, I was assured that it wasn’t and that it was cultured & cooked in house. Pleskavic is like an Eastern European cheeseburger. 2 large meat patties come to the table with raw onions & a nice chunk of Bulgarian feta cheese. No frills here. Meat. Cheese. Onions. Some mediocre bread is served along side if you want to make a sandwich or sop up some of the meaty juices. This is a great dish — the meat is well charred & has an interesting texture. The cheese is salty, sharp, & tart and work well with the onions. A tasty, well prepared dish. The pleskavic was on the specials board. I didn’t even look at the menu to order, but as I was leaving I glanced at it for a moment. If you go by the menu, Drago’s looks like a coney island. Pleaskavic did not appear to be on the menu. So if you visit Drago’s, ask for the pleskavic if you don’t see it on the menu.
