Had been going elsewhere for my corned beef fix. Went back to Nu New York last night and had a 3 decker corned beef/pastrami. This is still the best value if you like corned beef and pastrami and don’t want to pay a premium for a «lean» option. Glad I revisited after a few years.

I lived on the streets for three years and I’ve eaten alot of garbage, but I think this may well be the first time I bought it. I can’t even eat this horrible sandwich. And I mean. horrible.

Don’t go here after you’ve been to the Original New York Deli in St. Clair Shores, you will be highly disappointed just as I was. They are NOT the same. So it started off that they obviously don’t like seating a table for one. They made a big deal out of having to seat me on the side that had booths for four. So I already was getting a weird vibe from the place. Then I ordered the tuna melt(because I was expecting it to be like the other one) and it came completely cold, with a cold slice of American cheese… Tuna MELT… cheese is supposed to be melted! And who puts American cheese on a tuna melt? I’ve always gotten a white cheese. Just didn’t taste right. So after almost finishing my side of fries, the waitress finally comes over. I say, isn’t this supposed to be melted? She has them melt it but brings me back my same sandwich with my bite taken out of it. I was just grossed out by this point. It still didn’t taste like a tuna melt. And who knows what they did to my sandwich back there. So, I will not be returning. Moral of the story here is, just because the name of a place is similar, don’t expect them to be the same. They clearly are wannabes.

NU New York Deli on 14 Mile Road in Sterling Heights, MI is fantastic! On Friday, September 11th, 2015 we had a great experience! The food was wonderful and the service by the waitress, Kim, was superb! We will be back!

This is a great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We have been coming here for awhile and really do not have any complaints. They always have a great selection of soups, which are delicious. They have specials daily and recently had a taco salad from their daily specials and it was awesome! Their paninis are delish too! Love the pickles they bring to the table.

Tried their carry out last week. I had the Arizona Lettuce Wrap, and it was fantastic. Super crisp, fresh lettuce, lots of meat and cheese… that thing felt like it weighed 3lbs. I ended up eating half and saving the rest for lunch the next day. My partner and I split the sampler appetizer and substituted the cauliflower for fried pickles… we got it carry out, so I was expecting it to be not so crispy, but it held up pretty well and they vented the box. The veggies(onions, zucchini quarters, pickle quarters, mushrooms) were all huge and fresh and obviously hand dipped/fried. VERY tasty. I can’t remember what my partner got, but I know he said the bottom bun was super soggy and he didn’t finish it. We will definitely try them again– dine in– and I will re-review.

This really isn’t so much of a «deli» as it is a «Coney Island». Big menu, lots of different choices, but if I’m going to a deli, I judge it on their corned beef. And this place only gets a 2-star rating in that department. My Reuben was just OK… corned beef was a bit fatty and a little cold — but OK. The russian dressing seemed bland — basically ketchup and mayo mixed together. Fast, friendly service — but for a $ 10 lunch you can do WAY better.

I don’t recommend this new york deli, go to the one in St Clair shores, the food is not that fresh, and the staff is rather odd, as they commented on our food selection asking if we were on a diet as we both ordered salads.

Very cute diner atmosphere and nice wait staff, which made the food even more dissapointing. First, all sides are extra while the main dishes remain overpriced. Food was very greasy but bland, just nothing to it in the flavor department. I left feeling I would have been better off making my sandwich at home.

We arrived around Noon on Dec. 30. It was busy but there was plenty of parking and staff on hand. We split a great corned beef sandwich and had bowls of beef barley soup. The sandwich was a great value at $ 7.19. Compare that to Steve’s Deli in Blmfld Hls where it will cost you $ 12.99. We even had cheese and slaw on it at that price. We’ll definitely be back. Service from Arta was prompt and friendly.

MONDAYNIGHTISSTEAKNIGHT! $ 10.99 for steak dinner. Good size and quality. You can choose between ribeye, new York strip, fillet, or en brochette. Includes potatoes, vegetable, and choice of soup or salad. Service is very good. I did not care for the zip sauce. Order zip sauce on the side. Best corned beef and cabbage dinner in the county. Good and cheap breakfast.

Haven’t been here in a while but I was taking a friend to lunch an wanted something with a large selection. The lemon rice soup was perfect. We each ordered a different sandwich to share but ended up taking it home cause they’re Hugh! The fries and onion rings were hot and crispy. Still love the pickle chips on the table. Our server was great and kept checking on us. My friend remarked that we now have a new OUR place to meet an catch up. Will be going back soon.

After getting a raving review from a coworker I decided to try it, and can’t help but really regret it. Nothing was fresh, it was all very oily, and my sandwich when just off the griddle was soggy. Wouldn’t ever go again.

Deli meat it is. Hot turkey using deli turkey — not the norm, but tasted good. Good in a pinch. NY deli sub really good deli meat. It is a deli place after all

Love this place! Sandwiches are huge… great when you are working —two lunches for the price of one. We ordered their deli trays for our employee Christmas lunch(we have a small staff) and it was awesome! Nothing left! New location is great for carryout… you just pull up to the window in your car! The other reviewers that are only giving it a 1 star must be really picky or high. I

Really not all that bad. My server was very attentive(they all appear to be girls in their 20’s) I had the corned beef sandwich, that was really good! I think it was around $ 8, which really isn’t too bad for a good sized sandwich. I could have eaten half and been satisfied, but it was very tasty so I went for the whole thing. The appearance on the inside is very nice. Its a new building, it was busy, although there also was a lot of people working. The past reviews don’t seem to have an effect on what they are doing now. Good Food, Good Portions, Fair Price and Fast Service

I used to go to New York Deli every Saturday with my parents when I came home to visit, because they had an awesome senior discount that made going here affordable. Recently, the joint was taken over by a new owner and moved into the old Hardees/Arby’s building down the street. The family visited on a Friday night and I think it’s safe to say we will not be going back. First of all, the prices are just outrageous. For the price of our meal here we could have had a much better meal at Outback Steakhouse. $ 3 for some redskin potatoes heated up on the flat top? Ridiculous. The service was also pretty terrible. The waitress took forever to get over to our table, and our food took even longer to get out to us. Salads and sandwiches do not take that long to cook, what’s the deal? What’s more is that tables who were seated after us got food before we did. Finally, the food is basically uninspired. For over $ 7, I got an antipasto salad with LUNCHMEAT!!! thrown on top. I could have had a way better antipasto at Buddy’s Pizza for less money. My dad and brother’s fries were cold, and they tasted as if the fryer oil had not been changed in a while. Before the move, this was an okay place to grab a decent lunch, especially with the senior discount. Now? Good luck staying in business.

The place is a disaster. The temp outside was cold and inside was colder.(how does that happen?) Had a julienne salad that was horrible. Well… it was great if you like a lunch meat salad. YUK! Needless to say… it was the first and last time there. Recommendation: Stay away… better yet. Pack your own lunch.

Even though I’ve driven past New York deli thousands of times I’ve never eaten here. This all changed the other day after a few co-workers suggested it for a lunch spot. Unfortunately, short of any Restaurant Impossible makeover I will never return. The reasons: Uninspired food, horrid décor and just an outright dirty dining room. My chicken sandwich was over cooked and under flavored. The Lemon rice soup was a disaster and inedible. This place has been around for years so apparently they have some type of fan base. I’m just trying to figure out why.
