I have to admit that Dominick’s Bakery was certainly an island favorite of mine– whether for their breakfast, cappuccinos, baked goods or lunch/dinner. I was an avid customer and always enjoyed their variety and creative menus. The service was always mediocre as to be expected from wait staff who most likely never attended high school or college(«yous» isn’t a real word– FYI.) I started slowly but surely getting annoyed at «Dom’s» as my friends and I would once call it. First, I had to wait 45 minutes for breakfast without any update from the server. I decided to walk out seeing as to how I had an Organic Chemistry final I was already late for. When I told the server I could no longer wait she replied«you ordered something Paleo, it takes long». thanks for the warning, hun. Next I was there with friends for lunch and ordered a cappuccino. It came out ice cold with no foam– when I returned it to be warmed it came back microwaved and legitimately vile. The icing on the CAKE(pun intended) was this past weekend at my best friend’s baby shower. Her baby shower cake from Dominick’s was nowhere near what she ordered. Her cake was supposed to depict a heaven scene with a lot of pink icing with the phrase«Thank Heaven For Little Girls» however, what she received was nowhere near. The cake that was brought to the venue was not decorated, cracked and had old buttercream and what appeared to be a drunk person writing with icing piping. The irony of this situation is that this was the second time Dominick’s messed up. A month prior they brought the right cake to the correct venue but the only thing missing was the party. I felt awful for my friend and her family who spent months planning this amazing shower but I am so happy for all of the support she has received in exploiting this horrible business. Dominick himself was unapologetic, unreachable and just a «typical Staten Island jerkoff». People like Dom are the reason the island has a bad rap. After writing this review I am so annoyed that I have to pass this establishment on my way home from work. Time to change my route so I don’t have flashbacks of awful buttercream, ruining a baby shower and cold cappuccinos.

I once thought this was a reputable bakery. However, a friend ordered a custom baby shower cake from here. First mistake — one month before the shower the cake arrived to the restaurant. The actual day of the event — the cake was delivered TOTALLY different from what was customized. There were added strawberries, which so happens to be something the mom-to-be is allergic to. The design they asked for — was just not on the cake. The icing was OLD, hard, and cracked !! The cake was not presentable, was embarrassing, and it was such a shame for such an important event. The best part of this was when they spoke directly to Dominick himself, not once did he apologize for the stupidity of the staff who apparently could not read a piece of paper and follow it, and offered only about 30% of what they paid back. Too cheap to give the entire refund for something that was ENTIRELY the fault of the staff of the bakery. Money aside, the principle is that this should NEVER happen in such a reputable bakery of Staten Island. This is a disgrace. This put a damper on the entire day. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Staten Island is also small enough to spread this disgusting information. You just lost over 100 customers, whom of which some did not even have to attend the party.

Ok I don’t know what happened here but I usually really enjoy this place and today was a disaster. I ordered for pick up a mozzarella Fresca panini and fried raviolis, the panini came with fries so I got mozzarella cheese on them. When I opened the box there was American cheese on it that annoyed me to begin with so they take it back and give me new fries but then I take a bite of the panini and its ice cold so I was beyond annoyed then I put that to the side and ate a fried ravioli and it tasted like it was microwaved… Seriously? Disaster.

Some of the bakery items are exceptional. The Boston cream donuts are the best you will find anywhere as is the flag cake. Tea biscuits are also among the best I have had on the island. Cupcakes are dry and don’t have a lot of flavor. The bread items are pretty good. Prices can be high so order carefully. I had one experience with the sit down restaurant. The place is always crowded so it seemed logical that the food would be great. Well, it isn’t. I ordered quiche, which more closely resembled the taste and texture of a sponge. I have no idea what they put in it to make it taste like that, but never have I had a quiche quite that bad. It came with a side salad with a ramekin of oil and vinegar mixed together so of course the dressing was not mixed but merely a separate mess, and tasted awful. My friend had a sandwich which she said was awful, and frankly was not pleased that I took her there. For the bakery items they do well, it is worth the trip. Skip the restaurant.

Great cookies and Italian pastries. I haven’t had the opportunity to sit and eat there yet. The place is always full of people so it must be good.

Ate lunch here with my college aged son. Nice mix of people, young and old, multiethnic. Many options on the menu for lunch including paleo and gluten free options. I had a blackened Cajun wrap with fries and my son had buffalo chicken sandwich. Both freshly made to order. Many delicious looking bakery items in the display. Prompt friendly service too! Great find on my visit to Staten Island.

This place is delicious! Went for dinner with a friend: got a chicken cheese steak wrap and side salad. Both were so yummy and the dressings on the side were incredible! We split the rainbow cookie tartofu for dessert and it was also fantastic. Staff was friendly, cute quaint café atmosphere. Excellent pricing. Only drawback is finding parking nearby sucks.

My husband and I have been coming here for years. We always order either the chicken pita, roast beef/eggplant/mozzarella sandwich or the vodka parm hero, always consistently delicious. It is a no frills place to grab lunch, breakfast or a quick dinner. Their baked goods are very good as well, we prefer these cookies over Royal Crown and Cookie Jar.

They make a mean almond cookie. In the sense that whatever recipe some old Italian grandma came up with 100 years ago that all the reputable places use, is the style in which they make it here.

I went to Dominick’s Bakery. I purchased the vanilla chocolate Fudge layer cake for my daughters 17th Birthday. I made sure I asked the salesgirl if inside was vanilla cake, She said yes. I asked her again to confirm. That night we cut the cake and it was chocolate inside. I was so upset I called the Bakery. The young lady said sorry if you would like to return it we close in 10 minutes. I said I live to far. I said please explain to your boss what happened so this mistake is not made in the future. She replied I will, thank you, sorry again, and hung up. I was so upset that she didn’t even say hold on will let you speak to a manager. I give Dominick a lot of business and am always please. So for me this was upsetting!

I didn’t like this bakery at all. I went here just to check out the prices, bakery isle(cakes and breads). And I could tell I will never come again because of rude service. I bought only one bread that day and the cashier who was very nice with the customer before me, didn’t say Thank you or come again or even Happy Thanksgiving(it was right before Thursday). At least respond to me when I said thank you very much. I guess they only paying attention to those who buy over 20 $… Maybe, but if you can’t see small, you will never see big…

This is a great spot for a healthy breakfast or lunch or a decadent dessert. The lunch menu is huge — filled with delicious, healthy dishes. Lots of salads and sandwiches, plus pastas, pizzas, soups and some entrees. The chicken lo mein, which has spaghetti squash as its noodles, is excellent. I don’t even like vegetables, and this is chock full of them — but it’s great. Very filling but healthy. The desserts are amazing — we got the chocolate cream pie for my Dad’s birthday and it was fantastic — very chocolaty and creamy and the crust was rich and buttery. I also bought the oreo cake and can’t wait to try it. I had good service both times I was here — it was very busy but they were efficient and friendly. They have tons of cookies, cannoli, cakes, pies, etc. Everything looks amazing. Go for a light lunch and take a dessert with you!

Dominicks is the best place to grab lunch with great service and great food. What makes Dominick’s so so is all the sauces they have for the sandwiches and the wraps. Such great choices and different sauces that make the wraps so delicious. The appetizer of the buffalo chicken tenders are incredible as well. The pastries alone need their own review. So so delicious after a wonderful meal.

Not a very good place to go to. Unfortunately I’m a glutton for pain, I have to keep going somewhere before I realize how bad it really is. Like all the other reviews stated, the service is horrible. They were very rude especially the older lady with tattoos. They seemed very blah and as if they were uninterested in being there. The food is hit or miss, sometimes good sometimes bad. I guess it depends on what you’re ordering. One thing I did like about it is that it’s cozy and the atmosphere is relaxing. If they hired some new help and stepped their game up, they would be a much better eatery. I guess these owners don’t come to these websites to read their reviews.

I am not sure what happened here, but I recently ordered a prosciutto hero with fresh mozzarella. The bread was a soft hero style roll, not what the used to serve a sandwich on. The mozzarella was sliced thin and was not fresh, and the prosciutto was so rubbery, that the fat would not break down regardless how much you chewed on this horrific excuse for a lunch. Waitress took my plate, looked down and sees that I only ate about 6 bites, and did not even ask how my lunch was. Again, way better options on the Island. Avoid.

I was a bit confused by Dominick’s. It’s a place that is trying to be too many things at once. I went to try paleo menu, so I will stick to reviewing that, very unimaginable and actually horrible. I was very disappointed. I had the meatloaf with came with two sides, the sides I picked kitchen ran out of(happens), ended up with stuff mushrooms and broccoli. Just not satisfying meal at all, did not bother finishing it. My friend got portobello burger, I don’t know where the portobello was and the burger was so dry! Everything was under seasoned. There are truly good paleo recipes worth exploring that I suggest Dominick’s looks into. Great desserts! However, not paleo at all. Service is seriously lacking and could be much better, i.e.: after being directed to a table we sat at a table for quite some time before we were notice by our waitress and service to begin with; had to asked three times for a refill of water before getting it.

Omg we had the Lobster Tail(croissant with cannoli cream) and a mini white chocolate mousse fruit tart — so delicious! People are super kind and the vibe is so perfect for a weekend morning. $ 10 credit card minimum which stinks. But awesome desserts nonetheless!

Had Breakfast here on 2 occasions. 1st time the service was close to non-existent. The Breakfast was not bad, so few months later decided to give it another chance to impress. &…Same exact results! Think there niche is a Bakery, should stick with that, and stay clear of being a «No”-service restaurant !

One of my absolute favorite lunch spots on Staten Island. The café itself has adorable décor, something you would see in a trendy spot in Brooklyn. Really cute places to grab a lunch date. Although I always order the same thing, my personal favorite items on the menu are the Portobello Chicken Panini with an ice tea and a cannoli explosion for desert ! Always super fresh and yummy!

Not to happy about this place at all… Came here for dinner… I know why the hell did I go to a bakery for dinner… the place is like a mini restaurants… full of baked goods in the front and bread as well and in the back dining area… The dining area is small… chairs are uncomfortable… went here on a Monday night and there was actually a good amount of people there… So I was impressed… I thought this might be a good eating area… So I sat down and started ordering I got a grilled eggplant sandwich .with a side of French fries… the waitress was slow… I asked for something and she just doesn’t delivers it as I wanted… I waited about 45 minutes for this freaken sandwich … I mean the menu said for good tasting food takes time… but geez… I never knew it took like 45 minutes to make a freaken sandwich… after the long wait my sandwiches served with fries are finally here. I was not impressed at all… the food was tasteless and my fries was brunt… It was actually one of the worst restaurants I ever been to in Staten Island beside Z one lounge… That place is always horrible to me… The reason I gave this place two stars is the cute décor and the nice evening setting for dinner… Other then that… would I come back… no!
