The only reason I gave it a 2 star is for the setting. The set up outside is nice on a summer night. The food was less than mediocre. I got the avocado carpaccio which wasn’t carpaccio at all. It was 4 chunks of avocado and thin slices of cheese(which was supposed to be truffle cheese but didn’t taste of truffle at all) covered in a pile of greasy onions and mushrooms. I also got the grilled octopus which was cooked nicely and served as one whole tenticle with a little portion of roasted bell peppers which wasn’t my taste. My boyfriend got the skirt steak which was underseasoned but cooked nicely. The best part of the meal was the warm chocolate cake. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing? Not sure if I’d choose to go back for the food.

Always great food! What a wonderful lunch they have! I recently went here for lunch with my sister. We sat right next to the window and were able to look out on the beautiful day. The waiter was courteous and attendant. The lunch menu was so full of great choices I had a hard time picking. I chose the pulled pork egg rolls as an appetizer and then had a pita stuffed with steak, onions, and mushrooms, which was just as delicious.(I omitted the cheese since I am lactose intolerant and there was no trouble in asking to do so. The staff was extremely accommodating.) I will definitely go here again for lunch or dinner! I’ve gone for dinner a few times in the past and my reviews are just the same. Plus, the cocktails are amazing!

After our small courthouse wedding we came to Blue for a celebration lunch with about 30 people. It was an excellent experience and I wouldn’t change a thing. The waitresses were amazing, they helped us come up with appetizer platters for the tables and were extremely attentive all throughout lunch. Even though there were other diners there, it felt like we were the only ones in the room. The food was delicious and came out very quickly. Thank you so much Blue and especially the servers for making our special day perfect!

I love love love this place. Today for lunch it was my grand niece’s and my first time here. I have read the reviews and was skeptical about bringing her here for her birthday. Stephanie was our server, once we got into conversation I found out she was relatively new. From meeting her and seeing how well she interacts you would know it may be her first month here but not her first month serving! I had mentioned it was my niece’s birthday and she surprised us with a candle in the desert! It is hard to come across such personable people nowadays. Lindsey was also much help when seating us! Will be back, as well as my grand niece since she did enjoy herself so much.

Delicious fish, priced fixed meal was alright nothing to write home about but ok… I’ve had much better options else where, you only can choose soup or salad but the cod was very fresh and yummy. Dessert which was carrot cake and ice cream was not good and tasted strange.

Really really impressed with my first time at Blue tonight. Anything that had chews in it was amazing and can tell was really fresh. We had the grilled octopus and barrata which was absolutely fantastic. For entrée I had the lamb shank with cheese risotto and again amazing. The wife had flounder with crab meat and was delicious.

I think that’s the best place in Staten Island! We order a pre fix menu. I ordered a sop and my friend a salad. Salad was bad((and main course was lobster— it was amazing and very delicious. We were sitting near the window with a beautiful view to water and factories.

I really wanted to like this place. The setting is waterfront but the view is industrial during the day. You’re looking at energy storage tanks in Bayonne. But at night, despite the industrial backdrop, it gets very romantic at night. The tanks are lit, the suddenly don’t look so industrial. The tanker ships are also lit up and quietly cross escorted by tugs. On Saturday night the noise level is near deafening. Not pleasant at all. Maybe during warmer weather doors and windows can be opened to reduce the din. We had a couple of drinks waiting for a table. We were seated in a reasonable amount of time next to a window. My date ordered scallop purses as an appetizer. She said they were deep fried and that hadn’t been her experience at prior restaurants. I ordered the crab and strawberries which were on point. For our main course my date ordered the Love Letters: Clams, mussels, calamari and lobster tail, tossed with strips of Pappardelle, sautéed with fiery tomato sauce. Overcooked and inedible. We had to send it back. I asked my server what dish the chef thought was really good but didn’t get ordered frequently. She returned and said the Duck. I ordered the Duck: Roast of duck breast served with tri color tortellini in garlic cream sauce. The duck was prepared perfectly, Plenty of color on the outside and rare on the inside. I didn’t care for the duck sitting in the garlic cream sauce. I would have preferred a modest drizzle of sauce over the pasta. My date tried my duck and then ordered it for herself as a replacement for her dish. When her duck arrived it had no resemblance to the duck dish I had just enjoyed. Her duck was overcooked and chewy. Weird that we both ordered the same dish, minutes apart and hers was like rubber. So while the esthetics of the space are lovely, the noise ruins it. I haven’t experienced a restaurant where you can have a wonderful dish, and then a moment later completely blow that very same dish. I’m sure many diners have a wonderful experience at Blue, just seems a little like roulette where you might just get a dud. Not really sure I would want to take my chances on a second visit.

The food here is excellent and worth the price! The seafood is always fresh and the burratta is my absolute favorite. The staff is friendly and accommodating, not much else you could ask for for a great dining experience!

I am planning a surprise birthday for my mom and Blue Restaurant accepted a deposit to have a party at the venue over 4 weeks ago. With less than a week to go before the event, the manager is claiming that they are not able to accommodate the time that was agreed upon. Which for a surprise party, is a big deal. After speaking with the«manager,» I am told that the restaurant NEVER does evening events and that it is posted online. This is not true, btw. Our deposit WILL be returned and now the entire event is being relocated. I am horrified that a restaurant can have such horrible service after accepting a deposit and knowing there was an event was to take place there. I am so disappointed with Blue Restaurant and will never bother with this place again.

Nicely decorated setting with a great view of the ocean. Reasonably prices and worth a visit! The chicken was definitely a must try!

Husband and I came to Blue on a lovely day to celebrate our anniversary. The weather was very nice, and the view was gorgeous. Since its a celebration, we plan on splurging a little. We have ordered three appetizers, and two entries.(See pics) The appetizers were very good, seafood taste really fresh. Note that the portion of the food here are definitely consider to be small, so please be aware. One thing I notice was that, the mussels we have ordered, a few of them were not opened(meaning they are not edible). I would appreciate it more, if they can actually not include those in the dish. Since the portion is small, and a few of them were not open, so there were only about 6 mussels that were edible in the dish. In my opinion, if they charge 12 dollars for that, they should do a much better job on that. Moving on to the entrée. My husband had the steak, and I have ordered pasta with broccoli rabes and sausage. My husband liked the steak. But when my entrée came, right away I notice something was not right. Instead of broccoli rabes, they put broccoli in the dish. I notified the server, and his response was if I want him to go check with the chef. I thought the question was quite strange. First, he should know better what kind of ingredients came in each dishes, second, if it was not the right ingredients, he should be the one to ask the chef, not to wait for the customers to ask him to do so. When he came back, he told me that there is no more broccoli rabes. I am really shock at how this is handle. First if there is any items that has ran out, shouldn’t they ask the customers of they still want to dish first? And substituting broccoli rabes with broccoli is just absolutely not acceptable. Since it is our anniversary, we didn’t really want to make a big deal and ruin out day. We would expect some sort of complimentry for the mistake they have made, but unfortunately, there was non. On our way out, the servers didn’t even acknowledged the mistake, and didn’t even say thank you to us. We were fairly disappointed with our experience, I hope that the management would read my comment, and improve on this. Otherwise, I cannot see that I will come all the way to the other side of the island to here. The competition is really big on Staten Island, and I believe that having a good customer service is so important to keep their customers.

Waterfront property doesn’t disappoint — providing gorgeous views and adding to the overall atmosphere. The mesmerizing terrace with seating under pergola(one of my favorite features) is a must for outdoor dining during long summer evenings and on dinner dates. It establishes intimacy and provides elegant privacy screen. Food? Made for general admiration, with interesting twists, but not particularly risky. Simply put, this is a great place to have a delicious meal. The service is impeccable, but requires a little wait. From its interior to its attentive wait staff, Blue keeps an impressive vibe. The appetizers we tried were avocado carpaccio, shrimp and steak skewers — all little perfections. Shrimps were perfectly cooked and seasoned along with a tasty tomato and the right amount of pesto. Avocado carpaccio with caramelized oyster mushrooms, onions and shaved truffle cheese is everything you could possible want. Steak skewers were great and will fit anyone’s taste. Main dishes — shell steak, flounder and love letters. Shell steak was cooked to medium perfection and accompanied by baked potatoes and fresh feta salad. Flounder — sautéed filet topped with crab mean and served with parsley in lemon butter sauce — rich in flavor and hearty in taste. Love letters was an original, share-for-two, rich and satisfying dish. Also, check out their home made desserts and a list of coffee varieties. It is obvious that this place is loved by all and for a good reason. So the last thing you want, is to be without a reservation.

I brought my husband here to celebrate his birthday and we had a lovely time. We were seated outside with a view of the water(and ugly industrial NJ), but it was still nice to see the sun set and listen to some good old tunes(Sinatra, Etta James…). The ambiance was nice(minus the mosquitoes that attacked right as the sun set). We ordered the goat cheese and scallop purses which were both delicious. We shared an arugula salad with our dinner entrees(SUCH a tasty salad), he got the«love letters» and I got the flounder. We both really enjoyed our meals, but we found his to be a bit too much on the salty side. We were too stuffed for a proper dessert, but pushed ourselves to get some chocolate mousse, since we were there to celebrate his birthday. And that was scrumptious! The worst thing I ordered was the Azul margarita– super weak and not too flavorful. I might recommend sticking to wines/liquor. Drinks are nowhere near as good as they are at Bayou. The servers were all really nice and attentive. We definitely plan on coming back for more. Definitely check it out!

I was there last night for the first time. We got there at 6:30, it was a beautiful out so we sat outside. It was so nice watching the ships and tugboats go by. The Service was great. The server we had was very attentive and knew the menu. The food was amazing! Also, if you time it right, the sunset is beautiful from outside.

I’m so unsure why there were so many low star reviews. The restaurant has an amazing ambiance that is super romantic — you wouldn’t think that you’re in Staten Island. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We had entire prix fixe meals for such a low price, $ 20. I was definitely fine dining for such a deal! The food was so good and I was so filled with joy. I was glad that the«deal» wasn’t less quality /less quantity so it wasn’t a gimmick. Please come visit here and eat … devour the food and the view! Will def come back for the summer when the outside dining area is open! The mushroom soup was my fav!!! and before they used to have the risotto, which was cooked to perfection. Now I’m checking the menu and it’s not there :(Pesto chicken was pretty delicious too. That is still on the menu, so be sure to try that! The pasta wasn’t overcooked.
