My daughter had a noticeable underbite and our previous dentist tried having her wear some kind of appliance to fix it and it was so frustrating for us, very uncomfortable for her, and it never worked after a few months. Dr. Talim gave us a different solution to it using a headgear, which I see is pretty common for underbites, and after 6 months, the underbite was gone! My daughter’s smile looks great now! She still wears the headgear sometimes to bed to make sure it doesn’t revert back to an underbite, but definitely a success story so if you have a child who has this similar situation, I recommend Dr. Talim.

Came across Smile Academy on Unilocal. They don’t have the best reviews but seeing as they only have 2, we figured we would give them a try since our last dentist was a complete joke. The paper work isn’t the time consuming part. I sat in the chair for roughly 3 hrs. They did the xrays and all the other things they do for new clients, look over all your teeth, whisper some numbers and letters to the assistant that somehow hears them and then the waiting came happens. I’m not sure if they just have 1 dentist but goodness! The wait was a bit annoying, I really didn’t want to sit around for that long. They go into detail and really help you understand whats up with your teeth. Great teeth do NOT run in my family sadly so I have some receding taking place not to mention, I’m a hard core teeth grinder! I’m better than any coffee grinder on the market, I promise you that! Not something to be proud of and now my teeth are starting to show it. Poor teeth, I promise I mean no harm. Other than that though, my teeth are great! The dentist agreed that I need to take my fiancé’s advice and stop, «brushing my teeth like a yetti on crack!» go hard or go home, right? Wrong, don’t do that with your teeth people! Anyways, they did a great job. Seriously, the BEST cleaning I have EVER gotten. They pay attention to the spots that are a bit sensitive but don’t avoid them entirely like some of the other dentists I have been to. Location wise, they’re by the Acapulco in the corner next to a medical marijuana place.

The dentist is pretty good, although most of the time she wore her full mask and specs with magnifiers so I don’t even know what she looks like, so it was like having a robot clean my teeth. But she was gentle, knowledgeable, very skilled and friendly. My biggest problem with this office is the support staff. One time I made an appointment at 9:00 am, showed up only to be told that actually my appointment was at 12:00 pm, which is funny because the little card she gave me when I made the appointment said 9:00 am. It was either wait 2 hours for an opening, or come back at 12:00. One time I went in just to have my sutures removed(5 minute procedure right?). Well apparently my appointment meant nothing as I sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes with no explanation or apology. I’m also not entirely sure what I paid for when I finally had to bite the bullet and run up a whole mess of procedures and have teeth drilled and filled and some teeth yanked. I never saw a complete receipt, but being new to the dental scene(my parents never took me), I didn’t think to ask or look or anything. I was approved for a credit line and just told them to ring me up for whatever I needed. I have no idea if I was ripped off or not. But my mouth felt SOOO much better afterward that I didn’t make a big deal out of it. Like I said the Doctor is great. Lastly, this office tried to upsell me on EVERYTHING. Whenever I went in I was asked if I wanted Invisiline braces. Every single visit. I did, however, opt for the white filling, and not the silver filling. I’ve since moved out of the area so I changed dentists(who, of course, I haven’t seen yet), but I have a feeling that I would have changed dentists even if I had stayed in the area.
