Cotto has been our favorite spot ever since we moved to Stamford. Perfect place to take your family or some friends. Great ambiance, service, and the food is delicious. I’d recommend the arugula salad, nutella pizza, and Parmela pizza.

Have been at Cotto a few times and so far my favorite place to eat. Good to go with friends, your sweet half or to celebrate your birthday. Have a nice outdoor patio that makes you feel like being in Europe. Staff is nice and food is outstanding. I have the Truffle burrata with prosciutto, light and delicious. They just started having a lunch special were you can eat for $ 13.95 in 30 minutes service guaranteed or lunch is free. Love this place!!!

Very good food and service. Very nice to sit outside on a pleasant day or evening. Mostly Italian themed but varied cuisine menu. Consistently good over the last few years. Pet friendly on the outside tables.

Great spot for happy hour but it blows my mind that they won’t let you enjoy happy hour drinks on the spacious tables outside when they were empty. I get that they want to save those for people who want to order whole meals but it was completely empty with 30 minutes left of happy hour and for all they knew, we would have ended up eating dinner there. It’s a policy that doesn’t really make sense — they’re losing money forcing people to eat inside at a tiny bar on beautiful days. It made us want to get out as soon as possible after the drink special concluded.

If you’re looking for a casual, yet chic Italian dining experience l highly recommend Cotto’s Wine Bar. The restaurant has an intimate feel with a touch of urban/city design. It was perfect weather for eating outside, so we opted for dinning on the patio. Service and food are very good. Their staff is very attentive and they are accomondating. I needed to push back my reservation by 20 minutes and no problem. All of our dishes were fresh and seasoned to perfection. Loved their calamari and caprese salad. My friend enjoyed his crab cake appetizer. Our main entrees didn’t disappoint either. My husband had their surf and turf special and I had a homemade pasta dish. Our friend was pleased with his grilled salmon arugula salad. We were stuffed and didn’t have room for dessert. Maybe, next time. If you like a chill night out with tasty Italian, drop by. They also have a nice wine selection, but didn’t drink this time around.

I was there last night and I did not have the best experience. Well first, we made reservations for 9, the host did not even have our reservations in the computer! Finally, after the confusion we were finally seated and it took 15 minutes to have the waiter to come to our table to just take our order and 20 minutes after that to bring bread to our table. 30 more minutes, our food FINALLY arrived. We had our food by 10PM. I do not know why the service is so slow. And we felt so rushed, after that. I had to ask the waiter to fill my glass of water because they were so inattentive. The food is overpriced for pasta, and salmon and two drinks of wine, the bill. It was ridiculous. I have had better food and service in restaurants for half the price. The space is cramped and over crowded. And the service and wait was totally not WORTH it! Not ever coming back, Thank you but no thank you!

I stumbled across this place in downtown Stamford accidentally and was really happy with my choice. I had a tough time deciding what to order because there were so many interesting choices on the menu. I settled on the endive salad and the tagliatelle bolognese. Both were excellent and nice seized portions. The staff were charming and attentive. I would definitely go back again to try some of the other interesting dishes.

Have been here many times — generally is good quality food for an airport. Tonight I ordered calamari — it was completely overcook to the point that half of the plate was inedible. No time to go track down a manager. Their iPad ordering system works great until you have an issue.

I have been to Cotto at least 3 times in the last few months. I really like the relaxed but sophisticated atmosphere. I’ll say the pasta and pizza dishes that I’ve had have been really good. We usually get a bottle of wine every time we visit and never had a bad experience. The staff is friendly and attentive. Overall, great place for a date or taking family out to dinner.

Great food, wine and atmosphere. The waiters are all very nice and helpful. The food is all good and they have gluten-free options as well. I would definitely recommend getting a pasta dish, which are their specialities.

Found Cotto on Unilocal and overall I thought it was a solid Italian spot in Stamford. We used a Unilocal deal(40 for 50 dollars) which was a first for us and it worked well. Service was super friendly and they were really nice to the kiddos. Good was good(margarita pizza, Caesar salad, and two of their homemade pastas).

Best buffalo mozzarella in this area. All entrees are fresh and most pastas homemade. Try the coffee desert drink… phenomenal!

I don’t know why this place has such great reviews. Went here for dinner when it first opened and thought the food was way overpriced for what it was. Decided to come back tonight just to have a glass of wine at the bar. The Pinot noir I ordered was pretty sub par(caveat– I don’t know a lot about wine, but this tasted like cheap wine). But forget not liking the wine I ordered– the service was so rude. The waiter came back to ask if I wanted another glass of wine when I was only halfway through my first one. Thought that was strange until I realized they were trying to hustle us out. Problem was, it was only 10:15 and they are supposed to be open until 12:30. They then proceeded to bring us our check when we both had at least 1⁄3 a glass of wine left. Thought it couldn’t get any more rude or obvious than that until they TURNEDUPTHELIGHTS in an attempt to get us to leave. And there were still 2 other groups of people in the restaurant too! It was really off putting and strange. Why say you close at 12:30 if you want everyone to leave by 10:30? I definitely won’t be back.

Cotto is a reliable and appealing italian wine bar located off of main street in downtown Stamford. It has warm lighting, exposed brick and lots of candlelight. The pasta is all fresh and made in house. The ricotta gnocci geneovee are light and fluffy. The pizzas are also quite good. They are thin crust, crispy and not heavy or greasy. The house burrata platter is a great value and comes with olives, peppers, prosciutto and fresh arugula as well. The wine list is loaded with strong italians — Barolo, Nebbiolo, Brunesco, and even one Montepulciano for those looking to keep prices down. The service has always been very attentive and respectful the dozen or so times that I’ve been. Although I don’t think it’s the best Italian in Stamford, the small plates are fairly priced, the service is good, the food is reliable, and the cocktails are reasonably innovative.

I visited again last night, this time with a group of 9 to celebrate a dear friend’s birthday. I and two others arrived nearly 20 minutes early with the intention of sitting at the bar until the rest of our party arrived, however, to our pleasant surprise we were told that our table was ready and we were seated. Our table took up the rear right corner of the restaurant so although the place isn’t too big, we in no way felt cramped. Manilla, the sommelier really took the reigns in making sure that we had a wonderful experience. The food was exquisite as usual and she and the great waiters and other staff made sure that our glasses were never empty, accommodated our every need(which is hard with a large group), and were super friendly to boot! A few of the appetizers and main courses that we ordered: Caprese(always a hit) Fried calamari(seasoned well with a time aioli on the side) Grilled shrimp(sooooo good) Beet and goat cheese terrine(I didn’t try it, but they finished it all quickly so I’m assuming that it was very good) Cacio and pepe(My go-to pasta dish since I have a lot of food allergies. It’s so simple yet when the pasta is tossed in the parmigiano and oil and it begins to melt into a sauce, it’s magical… I add pepper flakes and blackened chicken and it’s perfect) Chicken scarpiello(all I tasted was a potato in the sauce, but spicy and so goooood. I definitely plan to order it next time) Penne grey goose(I’ve heard from everyone who’s ever had it that it’s the best vodka sauce they e ever had) Shrimp fra diavolo(got a good review from the person who ordered. I’ll try it next time) FYI — we brought our own cake and candles so no dessert review, but they did a great job handling the cake and even re-lit the candles for us so that we could get a better picture! All in we all had a great time. The birthday girl was very pleased and said that she is planning to return to the restaurant on a Sunday for the half price wine special. I’m so appreciative of the Cotto staff for putting a smile on her face. She deserves it :)

The burrata is the best I’ve had so delicious and creamy. If you’re in Stamford and looking for amazing Italian, look no further. Start with the burrata end with the tiramisu and you will not be disappointed!!! I made my second trip to second last week and my only regret was not coming back sooner. The prosciutto and soppressata were amazing as well. My aunt got the roasted beet & goat cheese terrine, I’m not a big fan of beets, but this was delicious! I also had a slice of the scarpariello pizza, awesome thin crust pizza full of flavor. For my main course I got the gnocchi special which was a butternut squash gnocchi which was out of this world. For the grand finale I had the tiramisu wow! I’ll be back real soon!!!

Had dinner at Cotto last night and was pleasantly overwhelmed with the experience. Great ambiance, my boyfriend and I ordered a bottle of The Saint Rioja, we had meats and cheeses, the octopus app, and the fresh pasta bolognese. Everything was perfectly cooked, the meat sauce did not disappoint and the wine-amazing. Cotto has a huge selection of wine.3 pages long. My kind of place. Lastly my boyfriend and I felt we had to write this review because of how spectacular the service was. Our waitress Manali was very sweet, attentive, she recommended dishes as well as wine, had obvious extensive knowledge and answered all our questions. Our bus boy/runner Jesus was also incredibly attentive sparked up great conversation and made the experience that much better. Thank you cotto for a great date night! We can’t wait to come back.
