Spa Vargas Wellness

We purchased a Groupon for a couple’s massage and facial. It was a bit hard to find in the resort, but it was clean and pleasant. Kim and Jenny did our massages. We both really enjoyed them. They also provided us with non alcoholic mimosas. I was disappointed in the facial. I have had many facials in the past and typically they ask you questions about your skin before they start. She didn’t ask me any questions about my skin type. It felt rushed and not very thorough. There was no steam used. Also, there was only one esthetician so we had to go in one at a time. Overall it was an average experience but a nice massage. The receptionist was also very sweet.

I went in at noon today, a Friday, and there was no one there. Maybe it’s the slow season? Anyway, I had a gift certificate for an eyebrow wax, and it was great! I forget the gal’s name — Kim, maybe? Kate? Something short and common.
Anyway, the place is clean and well-​maintained. There’s a nice scent in the air and atmosphere. You have to walk down stairs and around corners to get to the little waxing room, but it wasn’t anything weird or creepy. The room itself is very nice — great table to lay on, and the job was so quick! Great results, too, for this bushy-​eyebrowed gal!
There was no trouble with the gift certificate and no pressure at all to be upsold — a huge plus for me. Everything was painless — except for, of course, the wax itself. ;-)
Just a note about finding the place itself — it’s inside the Pheasant Run complex, and it’s kind of far away from where my GPS led me in to park. Staff was very friendly giving directions, though, and it’s a really pleasant place!

I just had my eye brows done by Kim. She’s awesome! The owner of the spa is very kind and polite as well as incredibly knowledgeable in wellness care. Highly recommend this place! Even as a guy it was very comfortable!

Is fantabulous a word? Fantastic and fabulous is how I would describe my massage experience at Spa Vargas. Their attention to detail is unmatched. .. very calming experience and they listen to your requests. If you want a deeper rub, then ask they deliver. I will definitely be a repeat customer. Kudos to their entire staff!

My mom and I had services at the spa this past weekend. I received an oxygen facial by Alfa and it was one of the best facials by far! It was not only enjoyable (included a foot massage) but she was also very educational and informed me on what I need to do to take care of my skin. She recommended products, but wasn’t pushy. My mom had a back and neck massage and she commented that it was the best massage she’s received. We both had pedicures afterwards. I did not rate it 5 stars because my first service started late (but wasn’t cut short), which then resulted in my next service starting late, and that service was cut short. But otherwise, it was a great experience and I would recommend this place!

I normally do not write negative reviews, but I felt compelled after my recent experience with Spa Vargas. My girlfriends and I planned a nice weekend trip to Pheasant Run and obtained Living Social Deals for a Manicure and a Pedicure. Some of the girls chose to have massages and they had positive feedback for the massages they received. However, 3 out of the 6 girls (including myself) experienced our nail polish smearing off of our toes and had to go back, it was very odd. We heard the front desk person and one of the nail technicians discussing this and it turns out there is nail thinner added to the polishes to make them last. I was surprised to hear this considering this is supposed to be a more upscale spa. The nail technician who worked on me was very nice and pleasant, but her skill level was surprisingly very poor. I honestly have never experienced a bad nail job anywhere I have gone. Quite a few times I had to stop her and show her the spots she was missing, once my nails dried I could see that during the second coat she did not get all of my nail. It looks bad! I honestly could have done a better job on my own. For the amount of cost for a manicure and pedicure, I would not recommend getting your nails done here! As for the other treatments, it was positive.

My friend and I purchased a Groupon for Spa Vargas and were looking forward to a mini spa day — massages and facials. As soon as we arrived at the Spa our hopes went down a bit. We were ‘greeted’ by a schleppy receptionist who showed us to our changing area. We had to laugh when we were offered tea in Styrofoam cups and given our choice of random Lipton tea bags.
We changed into our robes and walked out where we met our ‘masseuses’. I was a bit worried that my masseuse was wearing a ‘fitness instructor’ t-​shirt, but I went with it. We were taken in a room and told to relax and they would be in. About 15 minutes later they came back in and began our massage. Calling this a Swedish Massage is a giant stretch of the term. There was no technique and barely got beyond a light rub. When my masseuse said she was finished I laughed. My fiend concurred that it was the worst/​weirdest ‘massage’ ever. To make it worse, when I looked at my phone the total massage was 32 minutes. We asked our masseuses and they said it had to be over by 1:00 due to then next appointment, then why leave us in the room alone for 15 minutes?!
Onto the facials. Our esthetician was very nice, but she started by asking ‘what concerns or issues do you have with your skin?’ I explained I had some congestion in my pores, she felt my forehead, agreed, and then said, ’ well this is only a mini facial so we can’t address that’ Great, then why even ask?! The mini facial was basically just cleaning your face and a mask that didn’t seem to do much. Like I said, she was sweet but it was a waste of time for no results.
Truthfully I felt ripped off. I can understand you may get a little less with a Groupn but this was a joke. When I googled Groupon reviews for Spa Vargas I saw that they actually added a new Groupn and raised the price — ridiculous! Spend a little more and go to a reputable spa that won’t make a joke out of spa services and out of you.

My wife and I spent a weekend at Pheasant Run Resort after finding and purchasing a couples massage groupon for Spa Vargas. While the layout and facilities are unusual for a spa, the quality of the services and actual massages we received were very good. The upstairs area, where guests check-​in, wait and pay the bill, is set up like an atrium, with large greenhouse windows in the ceiling that let in sunlight. This looks nice, but makes the entire floor uncomfortably warm. The changing rooms are strange, both the men’s and women’s changing rooms only accommodate a single person. After guests change, they are led down a back stairway that appears to double as an emergency fire escape. The layout of the rooms, which feel like large closets randomly positioned throughout the winding hallways of the basement, are confusing and a bit unorganized.

Had a groupon for $ 149 for couples massage and facials. Great value. Staff was friendly and we felt the value for the services was great. Will consider returning.

This spa is not willing to accommodate their customers. I was willing to give it a try but they make it difficult for you to schedule services. It is a real shame. Mario Tricoci had a very nice set up there.

Very disappointed. I mean the concept of s spa is there, but it is not executed like a true up scale spa. The blanket on the couch where you wait in your robe was torn in several places, it wasn’t the cleanest of venues (the used robes and slippers were piling out of the basket and all over the floor), not to mention it was cold in the massage room. There was a heated pad that you lay on, but it’s so cold that my toes and nose never shook the chill. It didn’t help that the masseuse’s hands were freezing (and kinda clammy/​rough). All in all very disappointed that I purchased the groupon for my husband and I to enjoy a little pampering. Even with the ‘deal’ we got — not worth it. Will never go back.

The Wellness programs developed and lead by Lori have changed my life! Lori, and her Associate, Debbie, have a genuine passion to help others. I have enjoyed working with them on my personal wellness goals… our healthy eating plans and exercise programs in 2013 have inspired me to knock it out of the park in 2014. Looking forward too our morning work out classes next week! I encourage anyone looking for a warm, encouraging and supportive team to reach out to Lori, Debbie and Spa Vargas!

It seems Spa Vargas has worked out the kinks since they opened at Pheasant Run. Went in today & had a wonderful Classic facial with Kelly. I had been having issues with my skin with the sudden chance in season & I walked out with my face looking & feeling great. I actually was so happy I picked up one of the products she recommended. I was handed over to Jenny where I spent 90 minutes in heaven during my tranquility message. Ah… Hot stones are the way to go, the knot in my should melted away, until I had to sit in rush hour traffic but I guess the galls at the Spa Vargas can fix that;-) can’t wait for an excuse to go back!

Go here for massage! I have been twice now and each therapist I had was so caring and good that I can’t decide which was better. I think I am addicted to massage now! The spa was relaxing with music and aroma and it really gets you in the right mood. I will be back with girlfriends who thought they didn’t like massage before, they will now!

Their service is so bad, after arriving for our appointment we walked right out. Do not waste your money here. Seriously bad service and overall waste of time.
