My brother and I frequent this buffet often. Great service, always clean, good food and it’s always rotated properly. We’ve been to over a dozen buffets over the years. This is by far the best. Anyone that says otherwise just needs something to complain about.

6:00 Ate there. 7:00 Blasted it — violently — against the back of the bowl. I used to love going there… but I guess the artificial grossness of the«food» just started catching up with me. Grody.

so, i went in, the counter agent upsold a to — go cup of whatever i wanted for 1.99 more. i could of said no… but just went with it… it cost 15 $ something… which portlands fred meyer is offering for the next three sundays at their second level 20th street bistro, and i went for the soup, none of them looked good. Clam Chowder, chili… none of them. i ended up making a taco salad too. It wasnt super awesome… more like on the verge of throwing up Cream of Mushroom soup texture… and i threw up. went to see a movie at 2:50 pm right afterwards.

Hometown Buffet is rumored to be about to close some of its locations. That would be unfortunate if the one in Springfield, Oregon were to close. That would take away about 1⁄3 of my eating out habit if that happened. I don’t go there for breakfast because I have found that the waffles suck and I don’t do breakfast buffets without waffles. They need a lesson from Izzy’s or Marie Callendars on how to make good waffles. The rest of the food at lunch and dinner is just fine. If you are a picky eater, you can eat 100% GMO free(by the EU or Measure 92 definition of what doesn’t need a label). There is baked chicken instead of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans, a fruit salad bar and a salad bar, all or most of that is GMO free, though the animals raised for some of that may have been fed GMOs.

Food is always great, minus the popcorn shrimp being on the salty side. I love that I can have unlimited cups of milk. Unlike other restaurants you pay $ 3 for one glass no refill. My biggest complaint is that this location is in a newly remodeled mall and they did not do a face lift to this place. Ripped chairs and the bathroom was so awful. Will I come back«Yes» but I will make sure to go to the bathroom before I show up.

This is a good alternative place to compared to the other buffets around the are that mostly consists of Chinese food items. Breakfasts are really affordable; dinner is great; you sometimes get prime rib or steak. They also have a veterens discount and a senior citizens discount. It’s a quiet place; not too loud.

Despite recent(?) renovations,(we haven’t eaten here in years, so who knows when they redid the décor), the place hasn’t changed much, if at all. Same uninspired, overcooked, dried-out and tasteless crap they’ve always served. Oh, I take it back, the PRICE has changed-considerably! It used to be that drinks were included. Now you must pony up $ 2.50 per person should you want anything besides water. For our family of four we paid over $ 57.00! This for gluey mashed potatoes, fried chicken that was so overdone and tough it could easily pass for jerky. The macaroni and cheese(well, the goo covering the pasta was orange; guess that passes for cheese at HTB) was straight out of the can, and the fusilli pasta was so overdone it dissolved in my mouth immediately. I suppose that’s a convenience for those who hate the tedious chore of chewing one’s food. There’s that. Spare yourselves the disappointment and go someplace else. If «all-you-can-eat» means a tiny bite of each terrible entrée, then it’s just not worth it.

This restaurant has improved over the last couple of years. The improvements they’ve made have really helped to bring it up to being much more modern and clean. They have raised their prices over the years, but who hasn’t? They no longer include drinks in with the price. You pay for those separately now, and the price is a tad high for them. The food seems to be fresh lately, instead of looking stale and old, like it’s been sitting under the warming lamp for way too long. The salad bar is clean and has a lot more options for additions and condiments. There are still some things that I don’t eat here, such as their stir-fry type of thing, pizza, and any other«specialty» items that belong in a specialty restaurant. Stick to the classics, and you’ll do just fine. I always enjoy the sliced ham and mac and cheese. My husband loves their chicken fried steak and fried chicken. It’s a place that my family and I go to once every couple of months, and will keep going to. The staff is friendly and helpful. More so than they used to be a few years ago. It’s one more thing that has improved. The manager, Keith, is a great guy who takes the time to talk to customers, obviously knows his regulars and genuinely cares about what they have to say, and takes the suggestions or problems and takes care of it immediately.

What they lack in quality, they make up for in quantity. And it’s a buffet. There’s infinite quantity. Enough said.

Pizza and macaroni and cheese were sub-par. Lighting was good with a nice backstreet boys playlist in the background. Highly recommended raspberry slushies. Cooled at the perfect temperature. Flavor really explodes when it hits your tongue

Very disappointed. Raised the price but didn’t raise the quality. Food are tasteless or too salty. Never consider going back there.

I don’t know about dinner but lunch sucked. If you want to overfill your stomach with lots of different, low quality, stale food, well this place is for you.

Daily good, not gourmet. It hits the spot if you’re in the mood for a wide variety of comfort food.

This is a tough place to review. Plenty of food and lots of choices, you can surely eat your 12 $ worth of food. Is it good? Well, its a pretty low quality buffet. Alot of their hot food options are warmish and over salted to make up for the low quality and taste. They have a pretty decent dessert bar and salad bar and usually the carved meat of the night is decent enough. You can also save a bundle by signing up for their club emails(kids eat free, dollars off, etc…) The fact that you have to buy an extremely overpriced drink($ 2.50) on top of the entrance fee to the buffet is ridiculous, though I tend to only drink water, so I like that they don’t charge it in the entrance price. This town doesn’t have any great all you can eat options, so with that in mind, this place does lead the pack of mediocrity. The place is generally clean and, while crowded at times, I never feel rushed to leave. If they lowered their prices a tad or upped the quality a tad this review would be 4 stars.

$ 2.50 for a drink… are you kidding??? and 99 cents extra to go? I drink water. Lots of food, plenty of salt and everything has sugar in it. Advise to HTB. Buy a pizza oven or don’t serve it, the crust is rather raw or burnt. Ok if gluttony is your goal. Look for BOGO coupons And yes I would give an extra ½ point for real butter, Places like Sizzler use margarine aka(crap)

So I got an email asking about my last visit. It has been a while and I don’t think we will be back. It was shortly after changing their recipe for mac and cheese. It was not the same or as good. My kids also tried the pizza and spaghetti and chose not to eat that either. All they had for dinner was a few bites of melon. I took them somewhere else to get something to eat. We were in there at least 2x a month sometimes more and have not been back since June and don’t think we will, at least not with the kids. Don’t want to pay for a meal that they wont eat.

I always enjoy going to HTB, I always make a «mashed potatoe bowl». The stuffing is my favorite However last time I was there(we go about 3 times a month) we had to bus our own dishes even though the waitress continuously walked past. It’s not always like that, so I can accept one bad service night ;)

I am pretty sure I threw up after I got home. I love stuffing my face with mashed potatoes and mac n’ cheese! sucks though you have to pay for a drink now days instead of it being included.

I used to be a fan of the breakfast. But, now, they’ve separated the drink price AND raised the breakfast buffet price AND reduced the selection. Food is decent, but not 8.25 decent. I can eat better for that amount.

Pics are much more attractive than the food. Great selections but most of them taste either cold or bad. You get what you pay for, but the buffet in UO is cheaper and much better. Still a good place to feed kids though.
