This is the third and last time we will eat here. First of all the prices are ridiculous. We didn’t get the sauce we ordered. The server dropped our food to us and didn’t return until we were finished. I pointed out it wasn’t what we ordered, she said«oh, that is totally my fault, I wish I would have caught that cause it would have been easy to fix» The food was bland at best. They even charge $ 5.50 for olive oil and bread. Server was rushing us out at 8:30 and made no attempt to help us with the wrong order or even an apology. If you want excellent Italian food in Springfield go to Avanzare, the price is about the same yet the food and service are ten times better.

Well I’m from Chicago(you can tell by all my reviews) LOL, So I have been spoiled with some of the best food in the nation. So what did I think of this place? Hostess was very nice, greeted my girlfriend and I with a smile and a nice personality. Waited about 5 minuets on a Friday night for a table so that wasn’t to bad. Upon being seated we were greeted by a friendly waitress, so we opted to order pretty quickly as we were very hungry. I was hoping the bread would have been a little better due to other reviews, don’t get me wrong it was good but not great. A little to dense and soft for my liking. No crunchy crust goodness here !!! The house salad was very tasty and the dressing was homemade. We both ordered the eggplant parm, I ordered mine with meat sauce($ 1.75 extra) which I thought was kind of ridiculous and my girlfriend had the alfredo sauce. Was it good? Yes the food was good, the eggplant was tender and had a nice breading and it melded together nicely with the meat sauce, the sauce was ok but nothing to write home about. I did taste my girlfriends even though I’m not a huge alfredo fan and it was very good. It did not have the thick and pasty texture, it was more of a buttery and garlicky goodness. We also ordered a side of two meatballs with Marinara and they were VERYGOOD !!! But $ 7.00 for two meatballs is a little steep. The marinara was much better than the meat sauce, alot more flavor. Next time I will definitely opt for the marinara. One thing about our server that struck me as being very odd, she had a friend walk up to her while we were ordering and she just gave her a hug and started talking to her and just ignored us while we were trying to order, VERYRUDE !!! And they chatted for a good 2 minuets or so. Anyways dinner for 2 with one diet Coke, two meatballs and a Cannoli to go came out to $ 51.00, that’s kind of steep for what you get. It is good but not quite $ 51.00 good. Maybe I’m nit picking a bit but hey, it’s my opinion, take it for what it is worth. But yes I will probably go back.

Delicious! Hubby and I went here to celebrate an anniversary. The food was so fresh and paired nicely with the easy jazz crooning above. Waitstaff was friendly and close by, but but hovering. Everything moved at a nice pace. If you have room the tiramisu will not disappoint!

I went to a fund raiser hosted by Sammy and the entire crew. They raised $ 8,600 for a former employees daughter McKenzie. At the auction an autographed Joe Namoth jersey from his Notre Dame days was purchased by the owner Sammy. I mentioned an event at the Denver Mile High Stadium I was attending the next week. Sammy handed the jersey over to me and the rest is history. Great food, family atmosphere.

Yum! Yum! Yum! I was in town to run a marathon so we were looking for pasta the night before. This place was fantastic! You have to get the garlic and olive oil for the bread! It was amazing! Great service. Great food. Reminded me of being in Little Italy in NYC!

I love this place! Eggplant parm was eh… but they have AMAZING Ruben sandwiches, and creamy pesto sauce!!! The Ruben Sandwich was not made with rye, instead homemade Italian bread — that’s to die for! Inside, there is plenty of seating, and low lighting. If you don’t like a dark place, I’d take the meal to go.

Let the record show that I’m rarely disappointed with Springfield’s Italian options, and I think Digiacinto deserves being in the top 5 or 6 or so. It’s not as good as Bruno’s, but I came here for the first time last week and really enjoyed it. First of all, this restaurant is huge, and the kitchen is right at the entrance so you can see everyone cooking(always a good sign, my friends). There’s also a display case right by the door full of empty cannoli rolls that I REALLY wanted to investigate. I saw those and instantly knew I was in a place of happiness. Alas, the cannoli story goes nowhere. I just wanted to remember them for a second. Okay, fast forward. Our waitress was sweet and unassuming and kept our drinks filled. The menu was pretty typical of more high-brow Italian: seafood pastas, options to select your sauce preference, etc. I went with the aforementioned seafood pasta, which was essentially spaghetti, marinara, shrimp and scallops. I’m all about dat scallop lyfe. Although our dishes took quite a while to get to us(it was pretty busy, so no biggie), I’d say my pasta was worth it. The pasta itself didn’t really compare in flavor or texture to the shrimp and scallops, and I ended up doing that unfortunate thing where I ate all the meat without touching the pasta. Oh well. The scallops were PERFECT, so hat’s off to the chef on this particular night. What I was really into was the salad that came with my meal. The greens were fresh and the viniagrette was tangy and light — all good things — but what really won my heart over were the sprinkling of carrot disks and squares of salami and cheese. It was an excellent salad. It’s true that Digiacinto has sort of steep prices, so in the mean time you’ll find me at Bambino’s. Great portions, good food and good service otherwise.

The food here is absolutely terrible. I had chicken parmesan and the chicken breast wasn’t even breaded(looked just like it was cooked on a flat top grill). The spaghetti sauce was very watery and had no flavor. I just don’t know what people see in this place. If you want really good Italian food go to Gilardi’s Ristorante or Nicola’s Ristorante.

Good Atmosphere. I came in for lunch and was greeted quickly. I liked the menu. Ordered the Ravioli Trio. The seafood Ravioli was outstanding the rest of the trio was just ok, nothing special. The whole menu seemed a little Pricey for the fare. I would have expected bigger portions or higher quality for the price. HOWEVER, the service, and homemade bread was good. I will come back to try it again with the wife.

Meat balls were good. Everything else was just ok. I don’t see a reason for coming back. I like the place but I just don’t love it. It was expensive for the basic atmosphere.

If my wife and I are fortunate enough to get a date night from our child, this is our go to place. They have the freshest ingredients and a certain ambiance that makes you feel like you are in a little Italian diner in NYC. They are a little higher end but fantastic. Great service is also a huge perk. Every experience is stellar. If you looking for good Italian food that is isn’t the typical over produced food you get at chains, this is your place.

I’m slow to do this review, but I think it’s worth noting why I won’t be going back to this restaurant. My grandmother and I used to love coming here, her more than myself. We would usually go at lunch, but one night decided to go in for dinner. My grandmother ordered the«special» which was linguine and shrimp. I had my usual linguine with clam sauce. The reason for the 2 stars is that when I got the bill, her entrée was $ 29.00. I about fell out of my seat! $ 15.00, maybe but $ 29.00 was crazy. I never told my grandmother about this but whenever we talk about going out to eat, I always try and steer her to somewhere new.

The bread used for the sandwiches is «east coast quality». Try a meatball sub and see if you agree with me.

Pricy for what it is. It was good but wasn’t worth the high price.

Until about 6 months ago, I would recommend Digiacinto’s above and beyond any other restaurant in Springfield. The food is phenomenal, the prices great. Then… I noticed a change. Not in the quality of food, but the prices! $ 13.95 for pasta and meat sauce?! $ 14.95 for linguini and alfredo?!? That’s without any meat! I simply can’t afford to eat here anymore and I’m very disappointed about that.

Ate here recently for the first time. I should start by saying that I’m not normally too into Italian food, especially overpriced Italian food(pasta has such a low food cost), but my boyfriend and I just flew through the whole series of the Soprano’s and lately I’ve found myself craving it more and more. Anyway. I had a half order of linguine with meatballs and my dining companion had a veal dijon dish. I basically thought it was boring. Noodles, red sauce(not as good as I’ve made at home), and one meatball sitting in the middle. For like eleven dollars. Yeah, I’m poor, but I think that would seem outlandish even if I wasn’t. Boyfriend liked his(or at least pretended to so the 22 bucks it cost him wouldn’t seem so sad). They give you bread and salad with your dinner, which is cool, but nothing to put on the bread except for little butter packets(olive oil, anyone?). I won’t be suggesting we eat here again.

My last name is long & Italian like the name of this place — so I know what grandma’s sauce REALLY tastes like, and this is as close as I am gonna get unless I start driving over the hill and thru the dale… It’s the details that makes the restaurant. Years ago, this was the ONLY place in Spfld one could get a real salami sub with real Italian salami(Volpi), on real Italian home made bread. That’s the attention to detail the owner shows — I have no idea how much trouble it was for him to get the stuff back then, but he either got the right stuff or wouldn’t put it on the menu, no compromises, no excuses. The take out orders are done up like they should be — once again, detail, like the pickle wrapped up separate so not to get pickle juice on stuff. This guy really, truly, selects the foods he serves — sub par, off brands, etc don’t goto the table. And he makes sure it is prepared with the same detail. It really shows from the sauces to the veal to the beef cuts. Even the relish is a constant. The atmosphere is really great, too. Same level of detail. If someone offered to take me to any Italian place in Springfield, free, I’d pick this one over anyplace more or less expensive. This is the kind of place that you say on Monday«Let’s go there Friday» and you look forward to it til Wednesday, can’t stand anymore, and wind up there 2 days early, and by Friday you’ll rationalize that was your original plans anyway… Really, this is one of the best dinning experiences in the«metro» area, of any type.

My favorite restaurant of all time. I should really change my profile«last meal» section because it would basically be anything that DiGiaCinto’s serves. Or everything… Though everything on the menu is fantastic, my favorite dinner items are seafood ravioli, eggplant parmesan, and spinach lasagna. All are amazingly delicious! The owner, Sam DiGiaCinto, got all his recipes from his Italian grandmother, and you can’t beat them. His alfredo is so rich and creamy, you can die happy after eating it. The tomato sauce is simple, yet fabulous. Not overfussed with unnecessary ingredients. Lunch at DiGiaCinto’s is great too. Their sandwiches(Philly cheesesteak or the Russo with hot pepper relish is my fave) are very tasty and satisfying. The only bad thing about DiGiaCinto’s? That they’re not located inside my house.
