The boyfriend and I wanted just a cheap date night and decided to come here because we thought the different name«scratch kitchen» was interesting. I used to LOVE cheddars, but oh my gosh it was so bad. The whole time we kept trying to find something positive from this whole experience. You literally get what you pay for here now. I understand this is a family restaurant and I love kids. But if you come here expect kids running around and screaming/crying. There were also a few waiters/waitresses cleaning/sweeping up right next to our table when the restaurant still had hours open left. We overhear multiple customers annoyed because of how inattentive they were. The only reason why I gave two stars is because thankfully, we had a very good waiter. I wish I had his name. Food wise, horrible. Never coming here again. I used to love their food! Super cheap and good food. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup and it tasted like straight up water and salt. There was probably 5 small pieces of chicken in there and mainly onions and soup. It was so salty that I felt sick after eating some of it. Also their seasoned rice is not seasoned, it was just plain rice with probably a small slice of butter mixed it. No flavor. Their cheese fries were pretty good. My boyfriend got the blacked catfish and he took a bite and could not eat it anymore. He likes salty food, but he said it was way too salty to even consume. We didn’t want to give our waiter a hard time so we just got our check and left. I hope they really step their game up. This was horrible and I won’t be coming back here again.

Wish I could give negative stars. This restaurant has severely gone downhill the past few months. The past few times we have been there was hair in my food, went back and there was again hair in my food and the service was so terrible we watched table after table leave. We would have left too but we had a crying 3 year old who really wanted her dinner. We never got drink refills unless we went to the bar to get them ourselves and our food came out a mere 47 minutes after we ordered it a mere 32 minutes after sitting at the table. Then last night my husband went to pick up Togo from there hoping the experience would be better if we just didn’t dine in and as he waited with my daughter the manager along with a hostess and two waiters stood in the front of the restaurant complaining about people. A customer went to a waiter and asked where their server was and about their food only to be told they are unaware why they were allowed to order something they are out of. The manager then went behind the bar, took a shot and asked the bartender jokingly if he was going to card him. We will not be back needless to say. After checking my bank statement a few days later they added a very generous tip to our card after we left to top off all the nonsense. So not only was the service less than stellar they stole from us. Beware people, and use cash.

I’m only giving one start because you can’t give zero. My BF and I walked In and there was no one at the desk. Which was fine. Then two girls came out one with long red hair and another with black hair in a bun. They both walked up to the podium and said nothing. They didn’t make eye contact or even acknowledge that we were standing right there. The phone rang and the black hair girl answered. Talked for a min. and hung up. Still not speaking. Then the phone rang again and she answered that as well. The red hair girl walked away and then the black hair girl hung up and walked away as well. By this point we still haven’t been acknowledged and my BF is ready to go. I try to give them time… the red hair girl comes back and grabs a clipboard and begins to write on it. Mind you we STILL haven’t even gotten a «hey give me a minute to seat you» or anything. It’s not even 5 o’clock yet and they were not that busy customer wise. The parking lot was fairly full and there were more empty tables than full ones from what I could see. If this is the new chedders then this company won’t last long with rude hosts. They’re the first people you see… needless to say we left. I was really looking forward to the pasta. Oh well.

Food: price is good. Lots to choose from. Taste is good too. Atmosphere: nice looking interior, but the music is so annoying that it is almost unbearable. It is really loud and I don’t know anyone who listens to R&B anymore. I think this place is for old people or something although my parents hate it so I don’t know what management is thinking. The service is usually pretty good. They are fast and reasonably friendly. I would keep going here but probably not until they change the music or just turn it down.

Hello everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience at cheddars. I went to cheddars this last week and it really made me think horrible of the restaurant chain. First of all they took for ever to sit us down, when it wasn’t even busy time/day. After sitting us down and the waiter taking our drink orders, we received food at the table that wasn’t even ours causing some issues with the table next to us. Due to our waitress pretty much being MIA the whole night we only got refills once during the whole dinner. They messed up our food and drinks while our waitress blamed everyone else(the bartenders, the runners, the chefs). The most disgusting thing was that when I asked for some ranch for my salad. My waitress came and brought it with half of her finger dipped inside of my ranch. It was disgusting! I am not sure if this Cheddars is under new management but I will for sure not be going back. Thank you all,
Jake L.

Good place to grab a quick bite to eat. Me and my hubby usually pop in on our way to the woodland mall and it’s always pleasant. Very sweet and polite waiters and food is always fresh and yummy. It’s good for the price and I always love seeing those huge fans and giant fish tank.

We came in today on NYE for a early quick dinner. Our waiter Austin was AmaZing! We will have to get him to serve us next time! He was diligent of our crunch for time and was able to take our orders and get our dinners out! Pretty impressive! Hence, the hostess who just clocked in and looked confused about seating us. They offer a lunch combo, that you are can still order for«dinner» as long as it’s available. That was pretty neat! I had the Monte Crisp sandwich and tortilla soup. Wow…can I say the Monte Crisp was like a donut bun! Super moist and sweet in a ham and melted cheese! Delicious! Definitely, not healthy for you! :D On a different note, should the staff bartending be drinking? I saw a gal take a shot with a customer. maybe it was her friend… who knows.

First time coming here. Our waiter was on a different planet recommending us shots at 4 in the afternoon when all we wanted was water. I ordered the spinach artichoke dip which came out with hairs in it. Told the waiter. He didn’t seem phased and asked if we wanted a new one. Of course we do. The new one came out with the food which defeats the purpose of an appetizer. We were never really checked on as I had to waive him down for refills and even silverware and napkins. Also the power went out for a few moments. Placed didn’t do it for me. Spend your money elsewhere.

Absolute five star service from Misha. Very attentive, great sense of humor and very professional. I would highly recommend this particular to anyone in the area. The food was to be expected, but her particular service is what sold me.

The bartenders were great and very friendly. I recommend the Cheddars Painkiller, it does the trick.

Although the food is great there is an almost daily problem with vehicle breakin at this location won’t be coming back to this one again. The Management did not show any concern what so ever when I told them that I had my vehicle broken into this happened between 12:30 to 1:30 in the afternoon. While awaiting the police to show up till they finished the investigation around 2:30 pm not one time time did the management check and offer any help for this Disabled Veteran.

We’re always ready to order as soon as the waiter comes for the drinks as we order the same thing every time. Tilapia and Key West chicken/shrimp. As usual, the service was so sllllooowwww. We waited 48 minutes for our food. Unacceptable! Watching our waitress even walk from our table to the back was comical, no hustle, no sense of urgency. We keep coming back because we really like the food/pricing but your establishment lacks in skilled servers and service. I would like to compliment 1 of your lunch waitresses, I think her name is Beisha? She is amazing, we try to come only when she is working and request her section. If you had 10 more like her, we’d eat here more often and I’m sure you’d have better ratings. Info, we’ll be back, we enjoy the food.

Cheddar’s has yet to disappoint me, other than them taking items off the menu that are to die for. The cheddars here is clean and friendly, and their food is fresh. The croissants are worth every penny, make sure you ask for some when your waiter comes to your table, you and your party will be thankful you did. They aren’t free fyi. Most of the time, this place is pretty busy during peek hours so prepare to wait a few minutes for a table. Bön appetit!

My friend and I came here after a Rockets game, trying to find some place open at 11PM. When we walked in, there was a policeman at the front, I figured he was there for security. But he was busy texting or something, didn’t even look up at anyone who came in. We were seated and assisted by a waitress immediately. The staff was very nice. My friend and I ordered the Veg. plate with Tortilla Soup. The soup was possibly the worst Tortilla soup I’ve ever had. It was a thick tomato soup based concoction,(think Campbell’s) and appeared to have pasta in it. It had a few shards of chicken and some green stuff — hopefully it was cilantro — but I could only eat a couple of teaspoons and I declined a take home container. The vegetables were very good, as was the buttery croissant, which was like a dessert. I had mashed potatoes, green beans, corn and broccoli. I take that ‘very good’ comment back on the steamed broccoli. It tasted old. The bathrooms were filthy. Toilet paper thrown on the floor with ‘matter’ on it — crumpled paper toweling over flowing volcano-style in the receptacle. I’m pretty sure no one at Cheddar’s cleans the bathroom during the day. It’s clean at 11AM when they open, and that’s all she wrote til closing time. All the toilets were dirty, unflushed, toilet paper all over the floor, and I think this definitely speaks to the clientele that frequent Cheddar’s. Hence the po-po a the door. The waitress brought our food, no napkins or silverware though. When will it ever end.

We were seated very promptly considering our party consisted of ten people and Cheddar’s does not take reservations. Initially, the experience started a little iffy because the seats and the floor were filthy! I had to request for someone to come and clean– they only cleaned the seats. It took awhile for our waiter to come out, but once he did– he was pleasant and willing to help. A couple more notes on the experience, my cup of water and saucer had food debris left behind, so that was a bit disgusting, and they forgot to put in my son’s order of kid’s chicken tenders. Yet I tried to look past these hiccups for an enjoyable night with family.

I don’t care what they say, but Cheddars is still a great spot for a filling meal & strong drinks for an incredible value. Service could definitely be more on point, servers could be more knowledgeable and their overall time management is pretty awful, but you get what you pay for. It’s still a friendly spot, chaotic but friendly service and good food. Will be back!

Here currently. First appearance when walking in was horrible. I should have turned around from the start. Tables where filthy, EVERYWHERE! Crumbs, food plates, glasses, etc. The greeter had an attitude and the other one said he would find us a booth. He comes back and says they are going to clean one off and points to it in the bar then he departs. Three minutes later a different waiter tells us to follow him to a completely different area of the restaurant. When we turn the corner, five waitresses are chatting at a booth on their phones hanging out. He places us behind them and they finally get up and leave. My first question is why was the place such a mess when there were five waitresses just hanging out? We finally get our food and it was disgusting and my order wasn’t correct. We tell them my boyfriend’s country fried steak was chewy, leathery and just flat out terrible. The manager comes out and asks us again, we tell her the same. She walks off and shouts to the waiter«JUSTTAKEITOFF, JUSTTAKEITOFF!» Absolutely terrible experience. Will not be returning.

I went today for lunch while my car was being serviced. I like Cheddars even though I only eat at one probably 2 – 3 times per year. Today I had the Dijon chicken with mushrooms. I also had a side salad which I usually get when I eat at a Cheddars. The salad was good along with the entrée. With a drink my total bill after tax was $ 12.75. My waiter Rashard provided very good service. Cheddars offers good value and good tasting food in a nice atmosphere. For a chain restaurant that serves a wide range of foods it is a good option for a meal.

Great food, cheap prices, wonderful margaritas! Dirty bathroom. :( Our waitress Dybeshelia was awesome! She was attentive and gave us tips on how to make our food awesome, like adding fresh Parmesan to our New Orleans pasta.

This Cheddars location used to have a good rep; however, today my family and I decided to come and we quickly realized we made a very bad decision. The wait was not extremely long, probably about 10 – 20 minutes. Once we led to our table, we hesitated for about 5 minutes before actually sitting down. This was because the tables were not even cleaned before we came. Crumbs were everywhere, water marks were splashed on the table, some even on the seat. We assumed someone would quickly come and clean the table, but we assumed wrong. It took about 5 – 8 minutes before we were given menus. Then 10 more minutes before a waiter came. Read closely – «A» waiter. Our waiter didn’t even show up! Some kind waiter who consistently checked up on us did. I doubt that our table was hers to wait on, but she saw the unimpressed expressions on our faces and came to the rescue. Food: It’s pretty standard. I got an appetizer because I had somewhere to go. Overall: Food is okay. SERVICEISNOT. And because of that’s it is DEFINITELY not worth going to.

This place is always crazy busy! Food and service tends to be inconsistent. It is a good place to go and just grab some apps and have some decent drinks.
