We came in for a early dinner before we fly home to Nevada and the person who seated us wouldn’t even set down a personal phone call while seating us. Once seated he was rude to when taking our order. For was fast which was nice but it was just alright at best. Salty and bland.

Oh. My. Budha. I walk into the door, which by the way looks more like I was walking into a seedy porn shop, and I am immediately blasted with the heat of a thousand hells. Ok great. I can get past this. But then I look around. There is not a soul in this place. I then order to go and wham before I know it I am walking out the door with my food. …wwwwwwait a minute? I just ordered. Yup, that is right smart people. I was just handed pre-cooked Mexican food at a sit down restaurant. Microwaved. I bring the food back to my lonely hotel, literally across the street, and it is luke warm at best. I’d tell you my room number, but you’d REALLY have to be amazing looking and disease free. Any who, I had a beef enchilada that was sort of good. It wasn’t terrible. So, one star removed for having ZERO people at the dinner hour and for treating the customers, hehem customer, like we are ACTUALLY in Mexico on a HOT summer day. An additional star removed for heating my damn grub up. And the third star removed for luke warm so-so tasting num-nums. I left the two stars because they were nice people… but I may remove them if my food comes back out my… well you know.

It was 96 degrees inside the building. Yes, that’s right the thermometer hanging on the wall inside read 96 degrees. the person that waited on us was beyond rude. If you don’t want people to eat at your establishment, then close the door. When my child commented that it was hot in the building he said it would be fine if we just drank some water. When we finished our first pitcher of water and asked for another he brought it by and slammed it down on the table. He sighed and rolled his eyes at every question we asked him. Since it was unbearably hot in the bldg, we asked for our food to go. 2 of the 4 orders were amazingly wrong as in not even close. We were the only people in the place, so there was no excuse. There is a reason that there are never any cars in the parking lot. The food was barely passable as Mexican and the to go box/tray he gave me leaked and ruined the shorts I was wearing. I would not go back to this place if it was literally the last restaurant left in town. If I could rate negative stars, I would, but I have to give them at least 1.

I like fiesta charra. Been there twice, both times very good. Most recently, I had the seafood chimichanga. It was stuffed with seafood, and the sauce was very good. The first time, I had the soap albongida, it too was very good. It’s just a vegetable soup, but it was hot, fresh, and a great light meal. Restaurant is clean, service is good. In a quiet part of town. Will keep going back.

Hot, fresh Mexican standards. Out of the way location, but handy to the airport motels.

Mexican Food Gem in Spokane, WA I recently had to travel to Spokane, WA and I found a GEM of a Mexican restaurant. I was staying at the Econo-Lodge and it was in an area near the airport that really has nothing around it but some hotels. I asked the desk clerk about dinner options and she directed me to Fiesta Charra 2. It was directly across the street next to Motel 6. I saw it when I drove up to my lodge and thought it was some dive bar. It was a peachy pink building with no windows and a lit up neon Dos Exxis sign in the only tiny window on the side of the building. I was a bit skeptical since it didn’t appear to even be a restaurant, but there was no other place to eat(except for hotel vending machines) anywhere nearby. When I walked in, it was a bit dark. You enter into the bar then beyond is the restaurant. I was the only person there since it was a Sunday night and the nearby hotels were near deserted. The hostess was very pleasant and brought me chips and salsa right away. The menu is extensive. It’s not just your enchilada and burrito type place. I ordered the Camerones Mexicana and I was NOT disappointed. The shrimp were large and sauteed in garlic, mushrooms tomatoes and cilantro. It came with rice and beans and a small lettuce and tomato salad in the middle of the plate. The shrimp were very good, not overcooked and full of flavor. The beans and rice were good too. The price was very reasonable. After dinner she brought me a little dessert; ice cream on a large tortilla. Just the right amount for me since I’m not much of a dessert person. Highly recommended!
