This Marriott is really nice! The complimentary breakfast is better than most and the seating is very cute! The outdoor pool was great, a nice seating area for those not swimming! The rooms were very nice, kitchen(even though we hardly used it) they were very nice! The bathroom was large but the sink was very small so if you have more than one person like me it’s hard to fit anything on it but shower was quite large. Bed was very comfortable and a queen! The staff was very friendly! Overall it was a great stay and very convenient for our destination!

Definately on the lower end of the Marriott hotels. The staff is very nice and cordial, but that is about it it. There is only one true suite, and everything else is a one room with a kitchenette. The fire place is odd because it really doesnt provide any ambience. Also, they have the most uncomfortable couched! Currently going under renovations, unfortunately the renovation work is shoddy which required for the maintenance crew to keep coming back. This is the first Marriott that Ive been whole heartedly disappointed in.

My husband and I stayed one night at the Residence inn. As other reviews mentioned, the facilities are a bit older and the exterior needed some work, but as we were there, we saw numerous people working on painting and repairing, so I expect that will improve in a few months. When we arrived, the people at the front desk were very friendly and accommodating. The room was immaculate, nicely decorated and well-organized. Everything smelled clean and fresh. The only complaint we would have was that there was a bird that started chirping at 5am for about an hour right outside our window, but perhaps the hotel could not be blamed for that ;-). We would definitely stay there again!

Residence Inns are toward the lower end of Marriott properties, so I knew what to expect but wasn’t disappointed. Simple, but clean and comfortable property. Price was right. They gave me a room upgrade since I’m a Platinum Premier member, which was nice but unnecessary since it was just a one night place to sleep stay. Breakfast ends PROMPTLY so make sure you know what time it does. One of the dudes was kind enough to bring me 2 yogurts, so that was good. Not many choices in the area as I recall so would probably stay there again if I was passing through.

Nice, clean, standard Residence Inn. Great for families of 5 or 6, but they also have standard rooms. Complimentary breakfast, while a bit cramped, has waffles, eggs, sausage, yogurt and assortment of muffins and Danish. Near the Interstate, convenient and clean.

A standard layout for a Residence Inn, we had an upstairs King Suite which means a single king-sized bed and a second, fold-out bed. Full kitchenette and a full sized bathroom. The remote control fireplace(electric heat, but a blinking light to simulate flames) was a nice touch. The room was nice and quiet with no outside noise or disturbance. Free wifi worked well for multiple machines. I’ll stay here again if I’m in the area.

Spent an excellent weekend at the Residence Inn. It’s very clean, friendly staff, nice amenities and pet friendly. Check in was a breeze, got in the room and everything was as expected. We were traveling with our dog and they provide door magnets to indicate a pet in the room to the staff. We’ve had problems at other hotels when traveling with the dog where the housekeeping staff would not enter the room even though we keep her in a kennel. I checked with the front desk here, they had the housekeeping supervisor talk to me, she assured me that they would have no problem cleaning the room. They charge a $ 50/stay pet cleaning fee, but that was fine by me, still cheaper than a weekend of boarding. And if I’m going into a room after someone with a pet, it’s good to know they take extra steps to clean after pets. They also have a large grass area across the parking lot for walking dogs. It’s fenced on 3 sides and has 2 poop stations stocked with disposal bags. We had no problems with hot water, the breakfast was above average compared to other hotels we’ve stayed at. It was a busy weekend in Spartanburg with the Georgia Southern-Wofford football game, some type of chorus competition and the Republican debate, but they didn’t run low on food or coffee. In fact, both days the breakfast area was well staffed, and the staff was extra friendly. Our only complaint was the herd of elephants staying in the unit above us. The complex is made up of a series of freestanding units with 4 ground floor suites and 4 second floor suites. I don’t know if the ceilings were just not sound proofed well or what, but whoever was above us stomped around like Bigfoot. At 3−4am. Sounded like they were running relay races in the unit. Overall, a very nice place to stay, we’d definitely stay again.

I gave 4 stars… because the hotel was nice, spacious and most of all clean. I stayed there with several family members, we were in the city for a wedding. The staff was very friendly and gave wonderful customer service. I must agree with the last review, the hot water was a problem. But, there were other good qualities that made up for it. The hotel has free wifi, a spacious kitchen and if you are traveling with kids a free breakfast… full breakfast not just donuts and coffee. I probably will not be coming back… the city of Spartanburg(let’s say boring). Enjoy your stay.

Typical Residence Inn format: room with a kitchenette including stove, microwave, refrigerator. I generally like this chain of hotels as they are roomy, comfortable and consistent. They also have free internet access and breakfast included with the daily rate. Pluses: The furnishings were in good order, the room clean, and clean sheets, convenient access to freeway. Multiple HBO channels, free microwave popcorn, happy hour and snacks late afternoon, and the internet was speedy with good connectivity. Plenty of free parking and generally quiet. Annoyances: Air conditioning unit is located in the room, and quite loud when on. The breakfast quality was OK, but they ran out of some items by 8AM and didn’t refill them. There was also some kind of domestic argument late one night outside of my unit, and they forgot my early wake-up call.
