Holiday Inn Express & Suites I-26 & Us 29 At Westgate Mall

If I could rate this hotel without a star I would do so. I was looking for a hotel with shuttle service to GSP airport and the reviews on the hotel website were good so I booked. I arrive at the airport and every other hotel in the city has their shuttles coming and going, so I call Holiday Inn Express and the desk clerk doesn’t answer until 10 or more rings. I explained I had a reservation and needed the shuttle, he then explained I should have made a «reservation» for the shuttle (that info is not on the hotel website.) the clerk said he would send the shuttle and call back when he spoke with them. Over 20 minutes elapsed before he called again and told me the shuttle was on its way. An hour and 15 minutes later the clerk calls and says that the driver is there and has been waiting a long time. I told him I hadn’t left my seat at the curbside and he then tells me the shuttle bus has «Hampton Inn» not «Holiday Inn» on the side as they share the bus. Finally arrive at the hotel and ask for the shuttle to take me back to the airport the following day and am told that the shuttle doesn’t run on the weekend but a taxi must not be too expensive maybe $ 15.00. I get a phone number for a taxi and call and am told it is a $ 40.00 fare to the airport. My advice is to pay a little more for a better hotel which will end up being less expensive and a heck of a lot easier to get to if you don’t have a car.

Check-​in was easy and pleasant, but I am a Priority Club member and had a reservation. As a PC member, I was given a small bottle of water and a package of goldfish.
My room was clean. Décor was a little older, but not obviously dated. The wall AC unit was quite loud, even at the low setting, so I just turned it off. The central air for the building was cool enough that I didn’t need the AC on a September evening.
The fitness center is a little tight, but it does have a bike, a treadmill, and a weight machine. There is 1 TV right in front of the treadmill. It shares the space with the washer and dryer. They have towels and a water cooler. It’s right next door to the indoor pool, which I didn’t use.
Breakfast was your standard HIE breakfast. Employees kept the area well-​stocked and neat.
Rapid Check-​out meant I only had to drop off my keys.
I would stay here again if in the area.

Feels very dingy. The staff was super nice and friendly but unfortunately I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was getting hep c by walking barefoot on the carpet.
