Panera Bread

I hate to give only 2 stars, but for the third time recently, I’ve encountered scary people in this location. I used to freely leave my purse at my table to go get my food or refill my drink, but no more. The first was a young woman who sat down at the next table and started to talking to me out of the blue. She had no meal nor did she look like she was waiting for an order. She started talking about her boss and clearly had some emotional problems. Fortunately, I was finished eating and I told her to have a nice day and left. Then, twice I encountered the same young man sitting in the remotest part of the restaurant — no food, clearly had not eaten or ordered anything. One time he was sitting with his head down on the table. The restaurant was beginning to get busy and he left when he realized that people were going to sit in that area whether he was there or not. He could have bought something — he had a cell phone, so money for that, but he has to shelter at Panera? My theory is that this is borne of their policy to allow people to pay what they can afford for the food. A nice idea, but here is the downside.

had apples. salad dressing was great but, the type was not on the receipt –Italian.

Consistently get your order wrong. 4xs in the last couple of years we’ve had to go back. As a value proposition, it’s not good. Very overpriced for what you get.

This place needs to retrain their employees including management. I’ve had 3 bad experiences at this location. On this particular night I went through the drive thru ordered two pick twos got home and half my food was missing. You can imagine how upset I was. Do the employees just not check the bag before they allow you to drive off with half you order you paid for missing??? This has happened before it’s unacceptable. So I call and ask to speak to a manager to let them know the issue and the manager says «oh yeah I figured you call because the girl working drive thru told me forgot to put half your order in the bag»… I’m thinking Oh yeah thanks that’s real helpful now that I’m home and hungry. He then proceeded to say well I can get you another food order the next time you’re here., ugh ?? Do you really think that: one that is going to help me in any way and two: that I would ever give you my business again??? I stated No thanks I just want a refund I paid for something I didn’t receive and all I want is my money back. He said he couldn’t do that. I’m like look I paid for something and didn’t receive it yes you can I’m not stupid after being placed on hold for a third time he comes back and says «we normally don’t do this but since you don’t want us to redo the food order on your next visit I guess I’ll just give you your money back «with complete attitude. Look PANERA you guys made the mistake not me I mean how hard is it to put food in a bag? Doesn’t take a rocket scientist or maybe it does.

Just finished a nice sized bowl of Soba Noodles. A bit spicier than the traditional Japanese style with which I am familiar, but very good.
We had an issue with part of our order not arriving with the rest of our meal. They handled the situation wonderfully. In the end we got credit for our delayed item, got the item, and a couple of free cookies for good measure. Thanks Panera

Clean place decent food. My only complaint is how small the portions are. Very good soups for a fast food place and decent breads and baked stuff. The lemonade is very good, and so is their green tea, which I don’t usually like.

Delicious bread bowls! They ran out, but the manger accommodated us. Very good service. The Acacia ice tea is refreshing and different. Mac n cheese is creamy goodness.

Visited the Spartanburg Panera while traveling for work. It is always a nice option to the traditional fast food options you find at every exit on every highway.
We ordered with no prob– I got the Fontina Grilled Cheese with French Onion Soup. We had a bit of a problem with finding a table as the place was super crowded. We almost ate outside, despite the cold weather, but a couple got up just as we were getting ready to jet. As we walked over, a staff member cleaned it quickly Score! Our food came out quickly, was oh so tasty, and we were on our way.
Fresh food, fast! Can’t ask for anything better while on the road. Love it!

Worst Panera experience I have ever had! Ordered a Frontega Chicken Sandwich and it was cold. Took it back and they burnt it!

Tasty lunch here. It was busy, but our food was ready quickly. I had the soup and salad combo, which came with a piece of baguette– perfect for dipping into the soup or mopping up extra salad dressing. The vegetarian black bean soup was spiced perfectly, not bland, not too spicy, and not too thin. I usually prefer the heartier black bean with ham served at Erik’s Deli back home but this was yummy. The salad was a fresh Greek salad with feta cheese in just the right size pieces. My only disappointment was the pecan braid — very, very sweet. Even when we split it, it was too sweet to finish. A slice of cinnamon raisin bread, without all the extra sugar would have been better, but I don’t think that was an option.

The service is always wonderful. The people are great, but finding a hair in your soup is not a good experience. If the staff hadn’t been nice enough to refund my money, I would probably never return. Next time, no soup for me.

This place gets my money at least once a week. They have a great sausage egg and cheese on bagel. Spiced chia is amazing.

This Panera is awesome, and the absolute best in the area. I love eating here. Excellent service, fast and hot food, and the environment is extremely clean. What more could you want from a restaurant?

I love Panera. Great food at good prices. This location is almost always busy because it’s right in the heart of Spartanburg’s biggest shopping district. The food is always good and the staff seems especially friendly here.
