The cheeseburger combo was excellent. It is a very large burger. The hamburger meat is refrigerated, it is not frozen. The hamburger was cooked perfect. I could not eat a double. The lettuce tomato pickles and onions were fresh. The bun was large and fresh. Surprisingly, the French fries also we’re good, however a little salty. The price of the combo was $ 6.69. It is a very good value. It puts McDonalds to shame. I hate to say this, but it is better than a Whataburger.

This place has great burgers. Hand formed thick patties cooked to order. Everybody from lawyers to landscapers chowing down. There is also fried chicken burritos and such but I only go for the burger. Go hungry.

Our favorite take out burger place in Southlake. Call it in and pick it up about 20 minutes later. Order the double meat cheeseburger and share — HUGE and delicious!

Shell Burger is a bit of a Southlake anomaly. It is well known and popular with teenagers as it is cheap and close to the high school, but entirely out-of-view to most other folks. I went here probably dozens of times during high school and it is one of my favorite burger spots. The store’s clientele consist mainly of Hispanic workers that indulge on cheeseburgers with sides of egg-roll, french fries, and fried rice. The burgers are huge, a single being enough for all excepting the most ravenous eaters. The meat is fresh and pretty mediocre, but this is a tasty burger that is very cheap. The fries are thick cut and I like the egg rolls. I wouldn’t get the fried rice, but they do have sriracha sauce so you can pretty much eat anything. For its value, this is hands down the best burger place in Southlake.

Since there are only 2 reviews & one is incredibly critical, I thought I should offer my opinion of one of my favorite burgers. Amazingly enough, it is found in a Shell convenience store in Southlake. Lunch time attracts quite a crowd from the construction workers & outside laborer segment. In the afternoon/early evenings it is best to call ahead to make sure they have not already turned the grill off. To my surprise I found one of the best burgers around(& certainly a value for the price). The patties appear to be fresh and they don’t go on the grill until the order is made. The single patty offering is more than adequate in size(a double is difficult to complete in one sitting). The taste is flavorable imo and the freshness of the burger & toppings is noticeable. The only reason I don’t go all the way to 5 stars is I do think the fries and onion rings could be a bit better. The station is run by a Vietnamese family(I think) that came to TX from Calif several years ago. Their other offerings include fried rice and egg rolls in addition to some tex mex choices — I have not tried the other offerings but I have seen a rather large crowd come in for the breakfast tacos. Next time you are contemplating a fast food burger & you are near Southlake Blvd & Randol Mill Rd, you might want to give the Southlake Food Mart a try.

I was intrigued after reading the other review. I live nearby, as well, and drive through this intersection numerous times weekly. Who knew there was a burger joint at the Shell station? There’s nothing outside to indicate a restaurant inside. And I like the occasional burger for lunch. Anyway, so I stopped for lunch the other day right about the noon hour. The place was packed so I had to wait about 15 minutes to get my order once I placed it, but no big deal. I misread the menu and ordered the #2 combo thinking it was a cheeseburger, fries, and drink. While I was waiting, I looked at the menu again and noticed that the #1 combo is the cheeseburger(not ‘hamburger’ like I misread) and the #2 is the DOUBLE cheeseburger. Woops! Oh well, I thought, how big can it be? So this is a takeout order and the guy behind the counter is giving me a strange look as he hands me the bag. Well, of course I thought I was just looking good today(actually I really thought it was because I was the only female in there). After I took the bag, I knew why. There must have been 2 pounds of food in there! And this was one burger and one order of fries. So I get home and open the bag. There are enough fries for at least 2 people. And the burger? Well, the burger is HUGE! Remember, this is a double. A single would have still been very large. I estimate that each patty was about 1⁄3 pound(times 2). Sadly, I had to take one of the patties out of the bun. How did it taste? The fries were rather good. They were freshly cooked and lightly salted. I wasn’t overwhelmed by the burger, though. The meat seemed a little too lean, maybe because while they cook the patties they keep squishing them down with a spatula. Seems to me like that squishes all the flavor out. Whatever the reason, the meat was a bit on the dry, crumbly side. The other thing was that the meat was way too salty for my taste. I didn’t like the cheese, either. It was your basic day-glo orange kids-type cheese(like the kind that comes individually wrapped). Granted, next time I could order a cheeseburger without the cheese(hmm, I guess that would be a hamburger — strange that they don’t have a hamburger combo…), but dry, salty meat does not cut it for me. The burgers do come with lettuce, onion, tomato, mustard, mayo, or any combo of these but it’s still not that great of a burger. Too bad. I really wanted to like this place.

OK, so my employee is calling an order in on her way home from my Shop and I ask her about it. She says the Southlake Shell Station near my house has the best cheeseburgers her family has ever eaten… they love the fries too and the burgers are HUGE. Well, wait a minute. I live 2 miles from that station on the corner of Southlake blvd and Davis blvd and had no idea. So of course I tried it as take out and found lots of my friends in the small booths inside this«gas station» and we all start talking about how unusual this is. A small family owned business they do have amazing burgers, fries and fast food made fresh and wonderful. This is my family and friends new fav place for burgers and the price is right, though difficult to finish one in a sitting. Yum!
