Partner and I have been here once. Owner was very friendly. He kept checking on us, making sure we enjoyed it and was personable as can be. The burgers taste great, fresh, like in n out but definitely a uniqueness to it. I’m sure we’ll eventually be back, just haven’t been eating burgers as frequently, but highly recommend. Great place for burgers shakes and fries.

I get my burger Johnny’s way. Normally I’m a ketchup, mustard guy, but the sauce goes well with the bun. I don’t eat alot of fries but these are good simple fresh cut and not over salted. Double meat, double cheese or single with cheese and chili are enough for me with the fries.

The fries are overdone for most people’s taste, the burger and fries are both small, too small to fill me up, and the patties are thin and low quality. I bit into several pieces of cartilage, which made me gag. I got just about halfway through, I couldn’t even finish it. It’s honestly not much different then a drive-through chain, so if you want to spend twice as much as you could at a place like in-n-out, be my guest. Neither are for me. Aside from that the atmosphere is one of pretentiousness, for the staff and even the customers, which consist of entitled teenage boys. Not my cup of tea. But when you’re spoiled by places like rodeo goat and twisted root, this is just a consequence.

My absolute favorite burger place, bar none. Don’t add a thing to the burger(meaning salt, pepper, extra mustard or ketchup) because the burger has a FANTASTIC flavor of its own. Especially the cheese burgers. Fries are good, but the burgers are the best. I always order 2.

Yum! Burgers are delicious(but I get it without thousand island, just not my thing). Restaurant is very unique and fun to explore all the pictures on their walls. Plus it’s a family business. What’s not to love? Better than pretty much any restaurant burger I’ve ever had, plus at a good price.

Went for lunch and had burgers and fries. Food is good as is the service. Just wish the burgers were bigger. My wife loves the cheese fries and wants to try a dragonburger

Spending the night at Great Wolf Lodge and kids wanted a burger. Similar to Five Guys. Buns on the sweet side. Thousand Island dressing standard on everything it seems. I had grilled chicken sandwich with the dressing and I wish I had cut the dressing. Chicken was good though. I took a bite of the burgers and they were pretty good. Should have just gotten a burger. Fries were yummy as were the shakes. Strawberry was excellent and chocolate seemed to be vanilla with Hershey’s syrup – my family was happy with that. They did give us small shakes in the kid sizes cups for $ 1.75. Overall – we would visit again. Cool diner feel. Lots of pictures on the walls. Quick, friendly service and yummy food.

I feel as if there are just so many burger places in this area and DFW as a whole. This place was just not that great for me. The price was definitely nice and one of the people we went with got a shake and said it was good, but I think the thicker juicer patties at Kincaid’s were just better for the area. Plus they didnt really have a ton of side choices here… Also be warned if you order the bunless burger they ground up the patty and put it in a paperboat with the toppings, definitely weird!

Anticipointed because of the good reviews. Purchased the burger combo. The burger was mundane. The meat was flimsy, breading was delicious. Shake wasn’t too far from a Wendy’s frosty. I like the atmosphere more than the food. Seems like a nice place to hang out and grab a quick bite.

Small burger for the price 17+$ for 2 burger combos — burger + fry and drink. Did not care for it due to bun. Think bum was a sweet potato bun. Took away the taste of the meat. Fresh cut fries that were okay, but had several small pieces that were to hard to be eaten.

Yum! This is what a «diner» burger is suppose to be like. Just loved it. Hubby had the dragon burger and it was messy but delicious! Definitely my new go to burger place in this area. Only reason it got 4 stars is that we were there at 8:15 on a Friday night and they started shutting down at 8:40. They had the iced tea already put away :(. Will try again another time and hopefully this won’t be the case.

Not a burger fan but figured there would be something I could eat for another working lunch for 3 — and there was… an AMAZINGBLT on their signature bun that was warm, soft & chewy, not big, dry and crunchy like some burgers. Then I noticed they said their hamburgers are the old fashioned thin burgers — which I do like — so will get on my next trip(yep, there will be a next trip). My co-workers loved their burgers. Four stars only because the cheese on my chili cheese fries looked like thin nacho cheese cheese; had some taste, the chili had a kick to it but fries got soggy under cheese. Overall just not the best I’ve ever had. But as I said, will be back.

Best burger in the dfw hands down. In-n-out style burger, except better. Good atmosphere and family owned. Best shakes too

Hands down the best burger in the metroplex, I drive 40 mins regularly to get the double with fries and a strawberry shake. This combination of the buns hint of sweetness and the perfectly cooked patties are really unbeatable. Sometimes I even get a little mad when I eat it too fast and have to order another. Southlake has a little hidden gem for sure! Been going here as long as I’ve lived in Texas and love it!

With the avalanche of chains as far as the eye can see, Johnny B’s is an oasis of original, family owned, simple and delicious burgers, fries and shakes. Highly recommended.

I have known Johnny for over 10+ years. Which is at estimate to his character. I worked there the first few years they were open. Such a role model and novelty to Southlake. This is by far the best burger you will eat. And I am not kidding. If you don’t like it, I’ll pay for it

I ordered the Dragonburger and chili cheese fries. Both were delicious! The cheese was so good, didn’t dry up. It is a bit pricey for a meal but I will definitely be back.

Our office lunch bunch(numbering only 4 on this day) tried out Johnny B’s for the first time recently. It’s a counter service affair; place your order, get a number, find a table, then come back to fetch your goods when your number is called. The décor is family friendly, and is heavy on pictures of people who have posed with the company logo in various(including some exotic) locales. There are also some nods to the local high school athletics programs(e.g. the«Dragon Burger»). The seats are comfortable and sturdy, and the tables feel substantial. But what of the food? I ordered a «Dragon Burger», which features a triple patty burger, cheese, sliced jalapenos and chili. I also ordered plain fries and my customary water to drink(the latter nets you a smaller styrofoam cup than the non-water folks, but not ridiculous like some places). The burger, as others have noted, features a modestly sized bun compared to the meat patties(which aren’t huge to start with). The chili is not very thick, so it contributed to the near demise of the bun. In the future, I’d probably order chili on the side for dipping instead. Yet the burger was quite good, with the meat being well done but not dry. The real star, though, was the fries. Fresh cut onsite(I could see them doing it from my seat), they’re cooked using either the«two dip» method or some other method that yields a nice crisp on the outside, while retaining a moist inside. They’re a good sized cut(larger than, say, McDonalds), which I also prefer. In the end, we all enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere. Further, we all like to support local businesses, especially when they’re putting out really good products. Check this place out if you’re in Southlake!

Good buns and fixins buuuuut the patty is super thin although the burger is somewhat tasty. Fries are a bit brown for my taste. Fast, friendly service
