This place has been here for 26 years ! they sure are doing something right I stopped in for a polish change, I did call ahead just to see if I would be able to get in & I did ! I got the pleasure of having my nails done by Steve who paid great attention to the shape of my nails. While the color options weren’t that fabulous to my liking, I was able to go with«Sweet Romance«it is actually a gel color but I got it normal. $ 7 for polish change, good parking, lovely staff and all around good time

I’ve been coming here for more than 5 years. The place is clean. The employees are friendly. You get fast efficient service for a reasonable price. Grace is the best.

I enjoy my time here but it the length of time spent in here depends on who you get as your technician. Some are much better than others.

Great experience and great mani and pedi! I grew up in the area and came back for a holiday weekend. They did a great job and I’ll definitely go back when I’m in town.

Salon visits are not typically business I can get done over a work lunch hour, unless I judiciously stretch the definition of «hour» to «all afternoon.» When I kept missing out on getting my eyebrows shaped due to a manic schedule of work and private engagements, I tried to find a decent salon without a twenty minute drive for all of ten minutes of work. California Nails has convenience on its side, and proximity to a Subway and Café Thai never hurts. I wish in retrospect I just went into Café Thai and ordered the spiciest pad thai they had. Burning my eyebrows off would have helped me more. California Nails follows the template for every other nail salon: pale walls, white tables, suspicious massage pedicure chairs, and a wall of OPI nail polish. I decided to bite the bullet and go into the back to the private room used for waxing. The blanket covering the padded chair looked in need of a clean. Warning number one. Number two was the communal wax pot that was probably a knockoff mini Crock Pot left to bubble for the last eight weeks. It’s always a bad sign if the wax is a cauldron for every stick and every person, but I was already overdo and lacking many options. The girl performing the waxing was gentle and fairly thorough. I’m hardly high maintenance when it comes to waxing — I let them decide the shape and method they want to use — but I appreciate people who take the time to pluck stray hairs and do more than slather on wax and a gauze bandage. She did a nice job getting the shape, and spent a reasonable amount of time cleaning up my brows. She also did a fine job getting smears of wax into hair at my temples. Mine is long, and I usually try to pull it back. There will always be wisps and pieces coming free, hence the use of clips and hairbands. I couldn’t do much about the short wisps, and I spent the next two or three hours picking out fat globs. She mentioned something like ‘Oops’ while she was working, but I would have appreciated more notice or time to at least fix the gunk instead of walking out of there with a mess snarling up my tresses. I won’t be going back.
