I have been on Captain Murphy’s fireworks cruise for 4 years on my family vacation. We normally take 18 – 19 people. Every year it is the highlight of our trip. The kids range in age from college to now middle school, and they just love the music and dancing. Tonight we even saw dolphins on our way out ! The scenery is so majestic, the friendliness of everyone so hospitable and inviting, and the fireworks are truly dynamic. Captain Murphy personally owns this business and his years of experience are honed to a science in both navigation and providing the environment for the best memories ever. I can’t imagine a South Padre Island trip without his party boat. His boat has the best music(all types and very up to date) on the island and party environment. I highly recommend Captain Murphy and Isla Tours.

Fun… But too many kids & babies for fireworks/DJ cruise. I’m sorry, but if they advertise light show, live DJ, dance floor, BYOB= leave the kids at home! Tryin to have a good time & kids are trampling me. Other kids taking up the downstairs dance floor laying down, bored & sleeping. Maybe have a family cruise &DJ/BYOB cruise on separate nights? There also happened to be a family reunion or something on the boat when we went… So they«claimed» the top deck. It was a fun cruise none the less. I would go again… And hope for a different crowd ;)

Went on the $ 10 dolphin sunset watch and it was well worth the money. The trip was fun for all ages a a lasted about an hour and a half. You can purchase $ 1 sodas on the boat and the staff was friendly and knowledge about dolphins and the bay. We will do this dolphin watch in the future.

My family was on vacation in South Padre Island for a 3-night stay. I bought a Unilocal deal and made my reservation about a week prior. I asked about the sunset cruise and was given a departure time then I was asked for my name and phone number. The evening we were scheduled for our cruise I could find the business so I called, unaware that I was actually in their shared parking lot. But I was told the cruise was cancelled because they did not have enough reservations. I wasn’t told about the possibility of a cancellation and I wasn’t called about the cancellation. I rescheduled for the following morning. Prior to leaving the condo I called to make sure the cruise was still set for departure. This time I was told there was no morning cruise because of a charter. I was assured the other 2 dolphin cruises were definitely happening by a woman who told me,“I’m here now. They’re on.” So I booked for that evenings sunset cruise. This time I did get a call about 30 minutes before I was told to arrive. I gave up my husband called The Original Dolphin Watch Tour who got us reserved for that evening’s sunset tour. I get that business can be slow and they’re a small business, but I wasn’t told up front about the possibility of a cancellation nor was I called about the cancellation. And there didn’t appear to be any organization or communication between employees.

Pretty good for the price ! Went with kids and adults we all loved seeing the dolphins. The eco part was very educational. They had a net and showed the kids what was caught and talk about each sea animal and then they were put back into the water. Had bathrooms on the boat. Did not have snacks but did tell us we could bring our own.

We found out about this company on Groupon. We drove from San Antonio and went Bay fishing on the Hard Bottom Too. The weather was rainy and windy and the seas were choppy but Kyle and Jaime made the best of it. Much to our surprise, as we exited the boat only 4 of us(out of 20) put $ in the tip bucket. How sad! We had a good time and will definitely go out with them again.

Book the Friday fireworks cruise for a great time and boat ride. You get a sunset cruise and we also saw some dolphins, before heading to the bay to watch the fireworks. They jam some good tunes the whole trip. BYOB for fireworks cruise. Pack your ice chest to bring with you with some snacks. Great Deal.

I went deep sea fishing on the Murphy’s Law with Isla Tours and Captain Murphy. Stephen(Murphy) himself came down when I was having trouble catching fish, baited my hooked showed me proper depth and I promptly caught the 3rd biggest fish of my life a 10lb Red Snapper. I highly recommend Isla Tours

Did the Dolphin watch on the evening tour. It was beautiful weather and was able to. see a lot of dolphins and a wonderful sunset. If your going to do this I would recommend the evening launch. The crew was friendly and knowledgable.

We had a great time on our dolphin watch/Eco tour! We got to see and hold sea creatures pulled up from sea… squids and starfish! My three year old and 18 month old loved the interaction. We saw many dolphins too, and there were tons of man-o-wars floating around too!

I’m surprised this place only had one other review– they are wonderful! My husband and I took their sunset dolphin watch tour after another company cancelled an hour before departure and had a lovely time. The boat is smaller, so we only had a couple of families and 2 other couples with us. The small boat is an advantage once you get tot he dolphin cove because the captain can pull right up near the dolphins(one of their competitors was at the cove as well and had to stay back). We also enjoyed the captain and deckhand– both were very knowledgeable about the bay and kept us entertained with stories. Also-you are allowed to bring food and drink so my husband and I were about to enjoy our margaritas and shrimp cocktail while watching dolphins at sunset. A perfect SPI evening for $ 26 bucks(which covered both of us)!!!

We had a great time on the 2 hour sunset dolphin watching cruise. It was $ 15 each and you can bring your own ice chest onboard, including alcohol. We saw a lot of dolphins and the boat wasn’t overly crowded which allowed us to move around to get a better view of the dolphins and the sunset. The crew was courteous, friendly and helpful.
