We rented a condo but came into South Padre Island a day early and needed a place to crash for the night. Cheap place to stay and it really shows. Breakfast is only cereal and toast. My family and I were really glad that we only had to stay 1 night.

They don’t have breakfast they have a cereal dispenser with cheerios and raisin bran bread, butter, and a bowl of nasty looking grape jam and a pitcher of what smelled like sour milk the hotel was alright needs lots of TLC but not anymore then most of the island locations i think the economy hit SPI hard

Booked for Memorial Day weekend. Arrived told me I didn’t have a reservation, he found it shortly after stating he couldn’t. Arrived in the room carpet severely stained and dirty. Ceiling had water stains. Comforter was floral cover from the 90s. TV is an old tube television that sits really high. I will say the bathroom was recently remodeled it looks really nice! However they failed to install the shower door? So water gets all over the bathroom floor!!! If they had a door it’d be perfect… I paid $ 129/night. I really messed up coming here…

This place was disgusting. The room was ugly, the beds were sunken in. The restroom toilet paper holders were rusted. It just looked horrible. It looks like it would of had some great potential, but it is just horrible. Not to mention there was some brown marking on the wall and elevator my husband said it looked like«poop» on the walls.

It seems that this hotel exists almost solely for the spring break crowds. When I was booking through Kayak, more rooms offered sleeper sofas than not(and, those rooms also showed«only 2 more available!»). Being as how it was just me and I only needed a place to lay my head, I opted for a room with just a queen bed… for the same price as those other rooms. It felt like I was the only guest checked in that night and not in the«let us drop everything to cater to your every whim» sort of way, but in a «The Shining» sort of way. Creepy. My single occupancy room was located waaaaay off in a corner on the second floor and was very, um, mirrored. And dingy. The entire wall at the head of the bed was mirrored. The entire wall above the sink in the bathroom was mirrored. There was a mirror above the desk so, when you looked into it, you would see countless reflections of yourself, front and back, because of the mirrors at the head of the bed. I changed clothes in the shower, with the shower curtain closed. Too many mirrors make Quani turn paranoid. Seems my room hadn’t been used in quite some time, actually. When I flushed the toilet, it made that popping sound of air in the pipes… as did the shower and sink. As for the slightly more important stuff, it wasn’t the best night of sleep I’ve ever had. The bed wasn’t very comfy and the dinginess of the room creeped me out a bit to be sleeping in it. While they offer WiFi, it was slower than dial up. I would’ve canceled my reservation and gone to another hotel, but I would’ve been charged full price for the room anyway. I made sure that my door chain and bolt were locked at all times while I was in the room. On an, I suppose, more positive note… my room had a microwave and mini fridge. As Tommy Boy would say, «Hey, there’s even a fridge! This is great! You could put six packs of be… soda in here. Milk, yogurt. You could put candy bars in the freezer.» The fridge had a space on the door with a can dispenser, even. There was also a coffee pot in the room and a «box» television… I had to ask for a remote control and regular coffee at the desk, though. A tile entryway in the room was nice for coming in off the beach, which I only had the opportunity to do once during my stay. My room had a window seat, too with the ability to completely open the window to enjoy the warm, beachy air. Yup, definitely a place kept open because of the high volume of spring breakers. As for me? I’m sticking with chain hotels and probably paying a little bit more… you get what you pay for. Lesson learned.

Ok don’t believe the online photos you see. Most of them are from the lobby which of course is nice a pretty. The rooms are horrible sporting a tv from the 80s and the water from the shower smells dirty as heck! When u lay down on the bed it feels ur laying on particle board AND it is indented about 3 – 4 inches… I was laying by the pool which is okay and this family came by with their LITTLE dog. Well front desk found out and one gentleman came out and kindly asked for them to leave due to their no pet policy… then this other idiot came out and yelled at the same family that was already packing up then started yelling t the kids to get out of the pool! That was uncalled for! I am NEVER coming back again! These people don’t know how to run a business!

We stayed here in early Feb 2012. The staff was friendly and clueless at the same time. We were 1st put in a room that had not been cleaned from the people that stayed in the room before. The 3rd floor smells strong like a mixture of curry and baby powder. We were then put on the 2nd floor in front of the elevator. The room really smelled like baby powder but for the most part was pretty clean. The rooms look NOTHING like the pic on their website. The good part is in Padre you don’t spend much time in the room and you are only a block from the beach and there is a free continental breakfast(donuts, toast, bagels, cereal) every morning. Overall I would not stay in this place again but it wasn’t bad enough to give this place less than 3 stars

Clean, a block from the Gulf. Rooms were nice, all the employees were nice and there is a free continental breakfast. Don’t let the cheap prices fool you! I plan on making it my home base every time I am in SPI.
