Food was just OK, but the environment sucks. We were seated in the back room by the door to the bathroom door that provided and endless stream of obnoxious slams every time someone came and went. At least 50 times. Too distracting. The wait staff reluctantly moved us, but could have done without the pissy attitude. The is a reason the restaurant açross the walkway had a 2 hr wait. bummer because as locals, we won’t be back…

Didn’t ever get to eat there so can’t comment on the food, but the hostess/​service was horrible. Extremely rude and unaccommodating.
We were first quoted a 20 minute wait. Then 20 minutes later it turned into 45 minutes. After 1 hour we were still not called and walked out. The employees were extremely rude and didn’t seem to know what they were doing.
Maybe they were just having a bad day. It was very busy and I understand people get flustered when under pressure. However, there really is no excuse for poor customer service. And it seems like some better management would help.

Food was good. Service was horrid. Took an hour to get sweet potatoes fried appetizers and they were cold when they were finally brought to our table. another half an hour for food. Our waitress was MIA most of the dinner. Tri-​tip and pork belly tacos were good. I’d come back if the service was half decent.

First night on our recent trip to Tahoe that we spotted this place. Hadn’t seen it before, even though we visit Tahoe often. We really liked the set up inside. Our server was fantastic.
We ordered and shared the fire roasted cauliflower, pork belly tacos and kobe sliders… SO GOOD! This will be regular stop on our visits from now on!

Such a yummy place to stop at while in South Lake Tahoe! They had huge portions too, so well worth the price. I personally had he Bison Burger and it was delicious. My husband got the nachos and it was HUGE plate full! A perfect meal to share for two. Thumbs up Gunbarrel

This place is right in the middle of heavenly village but fails to live up to this billing. Food is okay, however the price is ridiculous for just «okay» food. We left feeling disappointed and ate at Basecamp Pizza the following day for WAY BETTER food and for less money. Go to Basecamp…

Been in here a few times but mainly for drinks on cold winter evenings, but this time we came in hungry and there was too much of a wait at Base Camp Pizza so we came over here and we sure are glad we did. We were just looking for some snack foods but they delivered! We ordered the Sweet Potato fries and the nachos. Needless to say we were beyond stuffed and satisfied when we left. The fries were fabulous and crispy and crunchy and the dipping sauces were good and a nice variety for anyones taste. The nachos were very filling and there was plenty for two people as a meal. The prices were pretty good for what you receive and the fast and friendly service made it well worth the visit. I will come back again for sure.

Great food, service sucks! Ordered a coffee drink and it was cold, plus no whipped cream. We decided to send it back and the other waiter says they have whip cream, it was hidden. Guess someone has a whip cream fetish!
Staff service was slow to give us menus, utensils and our order was taken wrong. Be ready to wait.

Salad portions was a little small. Very nice service and everything was pretty tasty.

Great band loved the service bartender was really nice. And would go again — had a great flavored beer and listened to a band, went with my sister up to Tahoe and loved that you could walk around and have a great time next to other places

I do not recommend coming here. The food terrible. I feel bad writing a bad review, but the food was just AWEFUL and the service wasn’t very good either.

Nice view, ok service but takes too long to get your food. Steak was burned out. Not happy overall

Came here with a group of girls for a bachelorette weekend. Erika was our amazing server!!! The kitchen made us a «bachelorette» dessert for us and it was the perfect evening of amazing, food, great service, and awesome trivia! We will definitely be back! Thanks Erika and trivia man!

We came here to order our food to go, I had some mixed feeling as the reviews were not too great! But I was surprised how good their food was. It might be not everyones taste as they put a little twist in their food.
For example goat cheese in their sliders, or blue cheese in their tri tip sandwiches.
While waiting for our food our children became restless which was noticed by the front of the house person. She gave our children some crayons and paper to draw and engaged them in a conversation which I thought was very nice of her.
Food was tasty and service was great!

We didn’t quiet plan the day we landed at Tahoe. We were pretty eager to hit the casinos and by the time we got out, it was pretty late in the night. So we strolled around looking for a place to eat and chanced upon this one. They told us that their kitchen was closed. Thought we’d give it a shot and asked the guy behind the open kitchen if they could serve us poor hungry folks in the cold something. He was awesome. He agreed, looked around and told us this is what he could dish out. He even rallied the other guys in the kitchen to help him out. When the manager (I guess) walked up and apologized that they were closed, this guy insisted that he could make us something with what he had. He even custom made a veggie burger which my wife said was pretty awesome. Figured this was kinda exceptional and worth a mention.
That being said, the ambience is great, the music is right, and the options are varied.

Enjoyed the bar. Short rib taco’s were very good. Jay the bartender was very helpful and kind as well.

A great chilled way to say goodbye to Lake Tahoe on my recent trip there with the girlfriend. We had just gone up the Heavenly gondola and wanted a reasonably priced lunch before the 4 hour drive back to San Francisco
Gunbarrel is located a hop, skip and jump from the Heavenly gondola station. There was no menu to view but we got one from the waitress
We sat outside in the sunshine but there is indoor seating available. In the evening, there are fire pits
We chose the chicken tacos and lamb lollipops from the small plates part of the menu. The lamb lollipops were more successful — moist, juicy lamb with a piquant sauce to offset the rich, slughtly fatty meat. The chicken tacos were a little dry but pepped up nicely with a squeeze of lime
Sierra, our server, was also fun and livened up our last few minutes in the stunning Lake Tahoe
