Found amazing pieces for a space I am working on. Worked directly with Ray, the owner, who was wonderful and very helpful. He is even delivering to Chicago. What a find!

Good prices and lots and lots of one of a kind artifacts. Great place to find many things to repurpose.

Fun to browse, big foot print of buildings. Prices have some wiggle room. Lot’s of great old farm gear as yard art, nice collections of random groovy.

I have only been to a few junk shops. I liked this one. They had a bunch of metal junk spread out all over the place. 3 – 4 separate buildings with more junk in them. Anything from an old treasure chest to old metal bead posts. Plenty of signage too. They barter so you can get it cheap.

This is one of those places that, if you look up the word ‘eclectic’ in the dictionary, it gives the address of Sunset Junque. This is a true treasure hunter’s dream. Old farm tools, implements, doors, windows, whatnots, geegaws, musical instruments, bizarre medical apparatus, sculpture, antiques, car parts, boat propellers — just about as random a scattering of unrelated artifacts as you could dream up. And it changes every time I visit. I think they are open daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and then weekends until the weather gets too bad. Best to call first if in doubt. But definitely go here. And bring witnesses if you want your stories corroborated.

A rambling location with multiple outbuildings, filled with trash and treasure. There is a certain neatness to the display of «junque» — I could spend hours there poking around at all the things they have for sale. Just to name a few things we say: Old horse carriage, assortment of old wood doors, art work, glass jars, old beds, antique tools, old sheet music… a weird giant figure standing in a tree with a decayed head… This is just one of those places you always stop at — some times you find nothing, but every once in a while you are just so thrilled with what you find, you can’t get over your good luck. :-)
