The Owner is an EVILWOMAN… unbelievable really! Stay away from this place! If you send back food they will force you to pay for it as well.

The lunch special is the best in town, but dinner can get a little pricey for a family of four!

The sushi was not anything special, it was actually pretty underwhelming. The service wasn’t all that great either. I should not feel intimidated by the wait staff to ask for things(i.e. more water, sriracha, correction on an order), but I definitely did while I was here. I will admit, however, that the Chinese food on other tables looked pretty appetizing, and if I were to return, that’s definitely the route I’ll take.

Went here with my daughter after she won a gift certificate at school. Very happy she won because it meant we didn’t have to pay as much for a terrible meal. Sushi was way too chewy and overpowering on flavor. My daughter’s salmon entrée had low quality fish and tasted like dirt. The sweet and sour chicken had way too much batter fried on. Even as an option for Americanized Chinese food this place is one to avoid.

Really good sushi! The place was quite busy on a Friday night and I noticed more sushi, etc. Than Chinese dishes being served. Great service, too. Pricing was very reasonable including a good selection of sake. I’m sorry that Koto closed, too, but I’ll be going BeWok when I’m in the area.

I come here pretty often. Had an issue with hair in my food that I did not feel was handled correctly. I’ll continue to eat here since it’s the only sushi in town(man why did koto close). I investigate my food and assume I’ll get bad service every single time I go since that’s the norm for them.

This Asian restaurant is unassumingly located in an old strip mall. Don’t be fooled by tired front business exterior. Looks like another Asian all you-can-eat restaurant from the outside. Our soup, tempura and sushi rolls came out unexpectedly flavorful and delicious. The ambiance was a bit busy and tense, so I’m glad we were seated towards the wall. I’m glad we discovered and tried this restaurant in Sonora. Will be back.

We thought we would give this place another try for lunch. The soup that we had was just luke warm and very skimpy for won ton soup. We have learned that you cannot complain here as they could care less and never have any intention of correcting the issue. The waiter took are order and we WAITED for lunch and then we waited 15 min. for the bill while the dirty plates sat on our table – lousy service! We have local friends that have eaten here and will not be back because of similar experiences. I really do not understand how the local paper can rate this place as the best in the county as there are 2 others that are much better!

Their food is good. Lots of attitude and Not to generous on asking for some extra fish eggs for my sushi. 3star is appropriate.

I’m bumping up my rating based on multiple excellent trips and an even faster to-go order. Keep it up!

Be Wok has become one of our regular stops for dinner. Their sushi is always good, the entrees are always consistent and yummy, my absolute favorite is the mongolian beef. It is cooked to perfection, crunchy onions and delicious! The service sometimes can lack, but all in all the food is still worth it!

3 stars for food being ready however I love proper Chinese food but the following Hot and sour .not impressive bland no hint of vinegar or heat just temp wise hot also had a weird ish taste also not shure in the mushroom they used also no meat??? No shrimp nor beef chicken? Dissapointing. Pork fried rice. With white rice rather then brown rice ??? This should of sounded the alarm how many Chinese food places use white rice I’m there pork fried. General tso. was descent at least cooked all the way threw but still heat aka peppers etc. Maybe cause it’s sonora. they had to dim down the heat and flavor or maybe I choose wrong product. but these are items I always choose from and debate going back. Well onto the next.

I’ve eaten here a few times. The place is clean and the service is good. I’ve only tried the sushi. Its decent for the area but nowhere near top shelf. There is a substantial menu with many choices for all tastes IMO.

I’ve been a frequent visitor here for the last 6 years. They’ve been pretty consistent– however, that’s all changed in the last year. I’ll echo the previous Unilocal reviews– roll sizes have changed — they’re smaller. They will nickel and dime you on anything. It’s like pulling teeth to get extra sauce for volcano rolls, etc. The capper today was that we were not only yelled at but we were screamed at because we wanted the pan fried noodles that were 15 minutes late(we thought they were forgotten as was the coke my husband ordered) sent back… …wrong thing to do apparently. Oh, and note to BeWok — don’t scream at patrons. Especially when your server has ignored them the *entire* meal. Your«argument» that the noodles are a meal and the soup, egg roll and tempura veggies we ordered as an appetizer is useless… really. It is. And really, tell your servers to stay off their damn phones. We can see them when they’re 8 feet away from us glued to them and ignoring us the entire time we’re in restaurant.

Have only tried the Sushi. Visited twice and was rather unremarkable. Not horrible but not what I would define as good. Passable sushi, that if anything was just bland. Everything looked nice, and was presented well. Surprisingly solid wrapping for the younger Sushi Chef’s working both times, but was just… bland. I don’t know if this was well presented and handled frozen fish, or just off in some way. I wouldn’t bad mouth it, but can’t say anything else positive about it either. The definition of a «meh» experience.

Used to love it, now probably wont go back. Rolls have shrunk in size and gone down in flavor. My spicy tuna handroll tasted like canned tuna, I thought they had brought me the wrong thing! The Bento Box lunch was still pretty amazing but I think I would rather get grocery store sushi from now on.

Awesome, I even got my ex husband turned out on sushi here… and he is a simple minded country boy that is scared to try new things.

I’ll give them two stars for their sushi. Then let’s deduct a star for giving me food poisoning. Not the sushi, but the Udon with Seafood($ 1 extra.) You know that awful feeling when you wake up in the middle of the night sick? I had a long time to appreciate the irony of paying MORE to be that sick. Really, I’d pay much, much more to avoid the poisoned seafood. I’ve eaten here often over the years. I usually have the sushi. That’s never made me ill. But two weeks ago when I got poisoned, I made the mistake of ordering something«safe.» Frozen seafood is hard to foul. Service at this place gets worse and worse. It seems like every time I’m in there, the group of young men who wait tables are either eating or they are invisible. It’s tough when you have to order every element while your waiter is walking away. When one orders iced tea, should you really have to say, and please bring me a straw, sugar and something to stir it with? I kept joking that it was like getting a cheap HMO doctor who constantly had his hand on the doorknob, trying to bolt as fast as possible. The best thing about the food poisoning at this place, means I won’t be back to suffer through such poor service. Never again. But if you choose to risk it, sit at the sushi bar and avoid the poor service too.

If my parents didn’t give this place their seal of approval I would not have had sushi while in the California Gold Country. They eat here fairly regularly. We sat at the sushi bar so I have not feedback on the Wok portion of the menu. Mom and I shared two special rolls and each had some plain sushi. Dad stuck to the Volcano which he really enjoys. Everything tasted fresh. It is not the best sushi in the world, but it is pretty darn good, especially considering where it is located. I would go back for sure.
