We’ve ordered pizza from Top Speed and it’s been tasty. But what yields the five stars is the fact that we called them, asking if we could buy some pizza dough from them to make pizza at home. I’ve had pizza shops willing to sell us dough before for a few bucks. When I got there to pick up the pizza dough, not only were the Top Speed guys very nice, but they gave us the pizza dough for free. We’ll be heading back!

I ordered a chicken caesar wrap and it tasted gross. I came to discover that there was a rubber band inside the wrap. So disgusting! Never ordering from here again.

Top Speed was our first choice for pizza and chicken parm subs for years, but then the quality started to slip. I’m happy the new manager seems to have things back on track. We love their tomato sauce and great pizza — the garden salad is pretty good for a sub shop and quite reasonable at less than $ 6 — and it feeds two.

Who cares about getting your pizza fast when it’s not prepared well(and it arrives cold)?! They shouldn’t worry about the speed so much, and focus on making better food…

Pizza is overall 7.9 out of 10. Delivery was not that slow as people say it is. I ordered from Somerville to Charlestown. The taste is good, the sauce is good. The bread is the only issue I can notice. Is not it is bad tasting or anything, is that the bread might be too thin. 16-inch pizza is true to size. Delivery man is respectful and called our phone, when we didn’t answer the door.

Been a regular customer since past 2.5 years. Delicious crispy dough and amazing sauce! Loved the pizza and subs. Quick delivery — what else you want. You name it and they have it.

I ordered delivery from them, only to see half my order is missing. Only to my suprise my mother finds the rest of the missing food lying on our front steps exposed to the elements. I was disgusted and hoped to get my money back, they refused. Worst service and disgusting service– it’s appalling.

The reason they are«top speed» is because they rush through making what could be good food. My meatball sub came in a soggy roll that literally fell apart. Upon first bite I tasted cheese, sauce, soggy bread, and wait… no meatball? I open the first half of the sub to find two tiny meatballs that obviously weren’t homemade but rather from a frozen bag. I couldn’t even eat the sub because there wasn’t enough meatball and the roll fell apart. My friend ordered the ravioli. Tiny mess. Better off with mcdonalds and it’s cheaper.

Ordered delivery with very detailed instructions on where to go. Get a call from the delivery driver who could only say«I’m here» but wouldn’t let me finish explaining he was in the wrong place and what to do, hung up. This continued 3 times and he was still in the place I said NOT to go. Finally he drives by me as I went outside the business to find him, and I am waving him down. I yell out, «right here!» He pulls up gets out and THROWS the bag at me. I say«what is with the attitude, you keep calling and hanging up on me». He never responds and pulls off. How about hiring people who can read, read, and UNDERSTAND the English language, who be rude to customers when they can’t communicate or understand? Somehow, this is MY fault as the customer. NEVEREVERAGAIN and I will make sure EVERYONE I know knows never to order from here either.

I should have read the reviews for them here on Unilocal before ordering. ugh. lesson learned

I gave this place another chance… more out of desperation than anything. Basically, we wanted frozen yogurt, and Café Kiraz’s yogurt maker was broken. I called Top Speed, which is 3 blocks from my house. I was told 45 minutes, which was fine for a Saturday night. Well, it took 2 hours!!! First the driver went to the wring street, then the wrong town!!! 2 hours!!! When I called looking for my order the person on the phone said, «Whaddya want me to say? The wring address was entered!» No apology! I didn’t even receive an apology from the driver. I’m a local customer who will never order from this place again.

Top Speed has some Top Notch Pie! The sauce and the cheese combine for a great taste! Nice thin crust! Where have you been? I had just about given up on Somerville for pizza! Try it, you’ll like it!

Ordered delivery, took them 1 hour to deliver two pizzas a mile. I fall asleep, and the driver doesn’t even think to knock or ring the doorbell to say, «Hey, I’m here!» Isn’t that common sense? Or do its delivery drivers not have that?

If you want to wait over 2 hours for a small cheese pizza and fries, then get repeatedly hung up on when you call to inquire about your extremely delayed food, go for it. Oh, and it will be cold and disgusting when it arrives. I will never order from here again.

I noticed the clock was past 10:00pm, and knowing I wanted to order a pizza in Somerville, realized to my dismay that«Top Speed Pizza» was the only place I could order from. If shitting and waiting are hobbies of yours, you will love«Top Speed Pizza». I ordered at 9:50pm, still waiting for the pizza to come. I’m so hungry that I’m almost looking forward to it. If you’re in the area, try«Roast Beef Pizza King». They can be kind of terse on the phone but the food is incredible. Long story short, don’t bother. edit: the food was late because they had the wrong phone number… I should’ve had the guy read it back to me. The food is still a little warm and it looks alright. Staff was apologetic but not overly so.

I don’t even want to give this place a star that’s how bad. We ordered chicken salad which showed up as cut grilled chicken on a sub roll. We called and they said«yeah we don’t really do chicken salad because not many people order it so that’s it.» THATWASTHERESPONSE! Well then don’t advertise you have it! I wouldn’t feed their food to my dog, but that’s because I care about my dog.

Stay away from the subs! A «large» is about 6″-7″ and will set you back $ 9. Not only that, the steak and cheese I just ate was flavorless and did not taste fresh at all. Pretty poor overall, especially for the price. After reading the other reviews on here, I think it’s pretty clear their subs are no good… I did have a pizza a while ago that was pretty good, a bit lacking on the cheese, but I did like it. I would definitely order again. Bottom line: give them a shot if you’re in a pinch, but stick with the pizza and forget about the subs. If you have the choice, there are much better places in the area

It’s been an hour since I inhaled my $ 7 sandwich/chips/drink and I’m still palm-in-face smirking over the entire exchange with Top Speed. They rock the seemingly infamous tagline, «Pies With Bling.» 14k pepperonis all up in ya grill. Get that chedda. MeatBaller. Completely rando say wha? Called to place a pick-up order, which they took without needing my name, phone number or, well, anything. I swear, the whole conversation took nine seconds. Within minutes, I’m counter leaning in a ramshackle storefront awaiting a very mediocre chicken bomb(two mass-produced«grilled» chicken breasts, American cheese-like foodstuff and peppers/shrooms straight from the can and in to the micro). On its own, this thing somehow rings in at $ 9. But, taking advantage of a handy dandy deal, I tag teamed the ‘wich with Lays and a Dew for $ 7. Yet even with the heavy discount, the food tasted cheaper than it cost. Props to the dude who worked there for upgrading my canned soda to a 20oz bottle! In his words, «You’ve got to earn customers somehow, right?» Right.
