I’m going to start by saying, call ahead and make reservations!!! We showed up without reservations and just so happen to get a table at the front of the restaurant near a window, the people behind me were offered a seat at the bar, so again I say… call ahead. Brought my Hunni here for his birthday brunch, its one of his favorite brunch spots, which is now my favorite spot. This place really has pizzazz and a great brunch menu, not a huge brunch menu but all and all a great menu. They started us off with a basket of bread, biscuits and cornbread with apple butter, and I absolutely love apple butter. I ordered the Southcity breakfast which came with cheddar eggs, bacon and red mule grits, all very yummy… as you can see, I like to play it safe. I also order a mimosa. The birthday guy ordered the jumbo lump crab cake hash which was absolutely phenomenal, he only allowed me to try a little. LOL. They don’t start serving mimosas until after 11:30, so we had to wait a bit, but he brought it right over when the time was right — nice little before noon buzz. I really like this place, and since we both like it so much, looking forward to becoming a regular. FYI: Parking is limited, I’m sure its because of the other restaurants that are in the same building.

Went for breakfast around 9:30 am on a Sunday morning. No wait time to get a table for two. The breakfast options are great and they served complimentary biscuits and corn bread muffins. The biscuits were good, however, the corn bread muffin was too sweet for my liking. We had the Egg White Frittata and the Chicken and Waffles with a side of Skillet Potatoes. All the food tasted good and would like to return to taste other items on the menu.

If there is another word for«incredible», then insert it here because this establishment is winning on all levels. The service provided by «Egg» was on point and the management was great. Very personable with patrons to ensure their dining experience was great. Our food was right on time and the bread basket is amazing(we should have Oprah rave about THIS bread). Came here for dinner because we wanted to see if it lined up with their Sunday brunch. Needless to say, our expectations were exceeded. This was my friends first time dining here so they earned a new customer. Back to the manager… he gave us fresh bread to take with us along with their preserves that’s generally brought out on brunch! If you’re looking for a great and diverse atmosphere, great food, great interaction with a professional and friendly team, look no further. This is your place!

Best. Biscuits. EVER! And everything else is great too. I visited a couple of times while I was in town on an extended business trip and they never disappointed. The atmosphere was very comfortable, whether in a group, romantic dinner, or like me, eating solo at the bar. The bartender was very helpful in helping me pick out good dishes each time and they never disappointed. Being in the food distribution business, I really enjoyed discussing food sourcing with the bartender and he was surprisingly knowledgeable. I liked that so many of their foods were sourced locally, or brought in from wherever was the best source for that particular item. I only wish I hadn’t been sick with pregnancy during my recent travels or I would have gone much more often!

Southern comfort food meets exquisite elegance in the kitchen. The moment I walked in and saw everyone’s dishes it was love at 1st sight or smell not sure but it was to much to take in. We had a party of 8 and we started with the appetizers(fried green tomatoes, chicken livers and fritters) everything was seasoned perfectly and tasted amazing. For my entrée, I ordered the springer mountain farm which is juicy fried chicken with smashed potatoes and collards greens. Talk about heaven! Desert was also incredible we did the same as the appetizers we order multiple dishes to share(pineapple upside down cake, banana pudding, buttermilk chocolate cake and the apple crisp). Again everything was perfect. I truly have nothing negative to write this establishment goes above and beyond to provide amazing service.

I wanted a nice breakfast after church on Sunday and hubby suggested SCK. It proved to be a lovely experience start to finish. We were seated fairly quickly as it was before 11 am. I asked for hot tea and unlike a lot of restaurants, I got a nice pot of water vs the usual mug of water. In addition, the waiter brought over a case with a wide selection of blends. I ordered the South City breakfast and we were brought a basket of biscuits and cornbread muffins. The muffins were delicious. My food arrived and the portion was almost the perfect size — I wish there had been one more piece of bacon. I love bacon. The grits tasted homemade and the scrambled eggs were fluffy. Wonderful atmosphere and wonderful service. I will definitely be back.

The brisket Benedict is one of the best meals I’ve ever had, and I’ve been back for it dozens of times. It’s really difficult to pull that one off at home, and that’s exactly what I want from a restaurant. The coffee is ok, but the espresso is very good. Beyond that, everything is impeccably well done. Chicken and waffles, pancakes, grits… all are amazing. I’ve never been for anything but brunch, but I bet it’s just as great for lunch and dinner. The staff have always been very friendly and attentive.

Went for a Sunday brunch — had the creole egg Benedict with beef briskett(excellent), pancakes that tasted ok,(had a sour after taste) and breakfast potatoes that weren’t fully cooked. Sat at the bar and our server(Randy) was great!

First of all, they have $ 6 brunch cocktails on Sunday, including a cranberry mimosa. What’s the point of having brunch if it isn’t boozy? The free biscuits and cornbread muffins are to die for. But be careful, you may eat too many and won’t be able to fit in your meal. The fried green tomatoes are made with goat cheese, which is a nice twist on this traditional dish. The grits are awesome. Pretty much everything on the menu is delish. I’ll have to come back again soon, especially since my friends and I have declared this our new brunch spot.

Overall, I walked away from this place stuffed and very content, especially considering between my coworker and I, we had appetizers, the fried chicken, dessert, and two beers each, and the total was under $ 50 per. The fried green tomatoes were stellar, especially with the goat cheese inside. Fried chicken was very good, but it didn’t stand out as a unique dish, but basic, great tasting, chicken. The side of collard greens were very solid, and the choc devils food cake put me over the edge. Can’t imagine you’d be disappointed trying this place out.

We went here for Sunday brunch. This place was okay. I ordered pancakes(which were not on the menu) Strange that they don’t offer pancakes during BRUNCH? I also ordered sausage, but chose the sausage patty that comes with the sausage and gravy because they only offer turkey sausage to accompany the pancakes… weird! I think this place is overpriced for the food. It wasn’t that good. I won’t be back.

My first time at this establishment and it was very nice. The décor was warm and inviting, my girlfriend loved the bar area and view of the kitchen was great. We had the SMF chicken and Jambalaya, both were great dishes with good portion sizes. We will be back.

Ventured here for a birthday dinner and was extremely pleased with my experience. Somehow the person who responsible for reserving a table for a group of 8 forgot but the hostess worked with us and was gracious enough to seat us within 15 mins. I’ve been to the midtown location but this was my first time at the vinings location and I realllllly like the atmosphere. It wasn’t a stuffy establishment and there’s were people really just laughin and havin a good time. Our waiter, T. Lewis, was very friendly and had a really good spirit. He explained the menu, joined in on our conversations at times(he wasn’t intrusive or anything), and just an overall nice dude. The drink menu had something for everyone and the wine list was pretty good. The menu was pretty good and there was a catfish dish, porkchop dish, a BBQ sandwich, and a few other things but I settled on the fried mountain springer chicken plate with mashed potatoes, garlic collards, and honey thyme jus. It was delicious! They even brought the birthday girl a huge piece of cake without anyone asking which was really nice. Verdict — good place. good people. try it out.

I’ve been here twice and I haven’t been disappointed. The service here has been great! Our waitress both times were so friendly and very attentive. They always checked up on us without rushing us, even though we ended up dining there for almost 3 hours! For appetizers, I’ve tried fried green tomatoes and gouda fritters. These both are soooo good! Amazing tomatoes and their caramelized sauce complements the fritters perfectly! It’s a perfect balance! For entrees, I’ve tried the jambalaya which has gulf shrimp, mussels, chicken thighs, Carolina Gold rice, andouille, and okra. Perfectly seasoned. Many times, I find that restaurants oversalt their jambalaya, but not here! I’ve also tried the crisped catfish. It’s sooooooo good! Cooked to perfection! It came with dirty rice which was just as yummy. I find that at many other places, there’s too much fried batter or the fish is over cooked. But the balance was perfect and the fish was so tender! Great upscale southern food!!!

I had the longest day ever at work and when I came home, the last thing I wanted to do was cook, so I decided to take my BF and I out to eat. We have come here for brunch a few times, and of course everything was delightful, seriously the shrimp and grits are like going to church, but we had never tried the dinner menu. The moment we walked in we were greeted warmly by the hostess, she even held the door open for us, classy touch. She let us know it was a 15 minute wait, no big deal, we decided to sit at the bar since there was no wait. Randy greeted us with menus and place settings and explained the menu, specials and drink specials. He was so personable and even thanked us for eating with him, which I really thought was a nice personal touch to the experience. I don’t usually order fruity cocktails, but as I said, it was a LONG day at work and Momma needed a beach vacay for a few ;) I ordered the mango cooler, which was made by hand by Randy, it was delicious. Very fresh and not too sweet, and I could really taste the mango. The BF ordered tea… I guess someone had to drive, haha. We started with the scallops and Peach salad. Scallops were cooked perfectly and very lightly seasoned, which really added to the delicious sauce and texture of the scallops. The salad was really nice, the peaches were so crisp and fresh topped with a creamy home made farmers cheese. Please order this when you eat here, it’s amazing. For the entrees I got the Mountain trout and the BF got the Catfish, again both were great. The succotash with the trout was really complimentary to the dish and the trout was perfectly seasoned. The catfish was really tender on the inside and perfectly crisped on the outside. We were both so full from the apps, also their biscuits and corn muffins are to die for! We didn’t get dessert this time, but we will for sure be back soon!

I spent a good 20 min looking for restaurants in the area with outdoor seating and settled on this one. Made a reservation and once we arrived we were seated promptly. The patio is very pretty; I’d love to experience it at night when all of the lights hanging across the ceiling are lit up. Service was good as well. So why only three stars? Well the food left something to be desired. Greatly desired. Also, not that it’s any fault of the restaurant but I don’t think I’ve EVER had a boozeless brunch. I was pretty shocked to find there was no alcohol until 12:30. On to the food… I started off with the crab she soup and the Gouda fritters. I like creamy soup, especially ones with seafood in it but this was just way too creamy. The waitress was kind enough to take it off the check. The Gouda fritters came with a sweet chili type sauce and were pretty good. My sister had the fried green tomatoes in which she said they were pretty good. She cleaned her plate so she must have really liked them. For my entrée I ordered the waffles and guess what??? That’s all it was. Waffles. Three or four overly crispy, very light, almost too airy, waffles. And they are very very sweet. Perhaps I should have read the description closely but I was expecting some sort of whipped cream or strawberries or some exotic butter. Nothing. Just 4 waffles. I ate two of them and gave up on it. My sister had the fried chicken meal. She said the greens weren’t seasoned well but the chicken gave her life! By the way the biscuits and cornbread the give you at the beginning is delicious also. I’d return here when I make it back to Atlanta, but probably not for brunch. I’d like to enjoy the patio at night. My advice? Revamp the menu.

I enjoy this place for brunch, they have the best buttermilk fried chicken of all time. The shrimp and grits are good as well. Parking is disastrous for Sunday brunch, I must warn you.

Food is pretty good(albeit pricey) and the service is stellar! I had the chicken and waffles(their signature brunch item) and they give a pretty decent portion. I am not sure what I was expecting but the dish was pretty good. I guess I was expecting to be blown off my seat based on the reviews. The waffles were lite and airy and the fried chicken was huge and boneless. I guess I was expecting more flavor from the fried chicken. I think I will try something different next time to make sure I’m giving all of their food a fair share since they have such rave reviews. Heads up: the open right at 10AM on Sunday. Not a minute before and not a minute after :-)

I like the South City kitchen a lot. My wife and I always order the Gouda fritters drizzled in honey as an appetizer, they are excellent! I also enjoy the fried springer chicken with collard greens. The main downfall about this place is the parking. Unfortunately there are two or three other great restaurants in the same plaza as SCK so it’s really tough to find a parking spot on the weekend. My wife and I try to visit every Sunday after church but more times than not, we circle the lot for fifteen mins before giving up and going somewhere else. It’s worth a try because the food is decent just dont try it on a weekend during the brunch rush.

We stopped in here for dinner because we wanted some Southern style food. It did not disappoint. It has a cool, semi modern décor. There is good amount of outdoor seating that is screened in for colder weather. The food is priced well. You get good value for your money. For my meal I ordered the Baby Back Ribs. They come in a root beer barbecue sauce. There is also a side of fries with them. The ribs were tender and juicy. The sauce was pretty good. Combined the meat and sauce were very good. You get a good sized portion. It is not overwhelming, but it is enough. The fries were solid. They were not impressive, but got the job done. Our server was friendly and attentive. There is a decent, diverse wine list too.
