I have had great food and service every time and the prices are good as really like their panang curry. Pad Thai is also a solid choice.

Good, fresh, dependable, standard Thai food. As good as, if not better than, Charm Thai and after Charm Thai’s recent price hike this place has become my go to Thai place in Silver Spring.

Based on great reviews here, we decided to give this place a try last weekend. Taking into consideration the possibility this was just a «off» night for the restaurant(either they didn’t have a full staff or their regular chef was out that night), their timing of serving food was way off and the food we ordered was *ahem* terrible. For starters, we ordered Chicken Satay and two bowls of Tom Yum with chicken. Due to confusion on the server’s side, my husband got his soup before I did. He had that weird look on his face when he tasted the soup. «Honey, I don’t think you’ll like the soup,» he warned me. When my soup arrived, I was so shocked at how inedible the soup was and quickly asked the server to take it away. I honestly don’t know how my husband was able to take 5 spoonfuls of that soup! Basically, Tom Yum was SO heavy on the red stuff(chiles/chili paste)… Either they forgot to stir the pot prior to serving or added a boatload of chili paste in it. You just COULDN’T get past the taste of chili paste. On top of that, there was also the weird fishy taste. It’s normal to taste/smell notes of fish-ness(is that even a word?) in the soup, but this soup in particular had us concerned about the type of fish sauce they used. FYI — when the server stopped by to take the soup away, we asked her to taste the soup HERSELF. We don’t know what happened after that. As for Chicken Satay — nothing to write home about… Despite ordering two main entrees at the same time, my husband received his grilled beef salad 10 minutes later after mine. His plate was a hot mess. My Pad See Eaw was too salty. I couldn’t eat it all. We didn’t bother finishing both dishes and left the restaurant disappointed. Oh, by the way — despite telling the server the soup tasted awful, she was nice enough to charge us for one of the 2 soups we ordered. LOL. Again, this could be an «off» night for the restaurant(bad service and bad food) — It doesn’t matter because we will not be going back.

Ordered for delivery in August 2015. Had to admit that one more tire restaurant and silver spring didn’t seem necessary but this one may be the best. delivery was very fast. Food was very distinctive and the seafood special was super hot. Very delicious will definitely be going back.

Once again, this little place has made my day. I always get a little side salad with my meal, and the chef remembered I preferred the peanut dressing to the other, when even I had forgotten! This place treats its regulars, and new customers alike with utmost respect, care, and kind service. The panang curry is so very, very good, and I always leave extremely satisfied. The waitstaff is always professional, and personable when they address customers. If you are a social person, I find the friendliness of the staff extremely welcoming and engaging. The staff is more than happy to chat with ya, but also gives you your space if you are busy or with other company. They take time to answer your questions, and are relatively open to changes in the meal should you require such alterations. This place is an awesome little gem in downtown Silver Spring, that everyone should consider when going out for thai.

I really liked this place! I was boring and ordered pad thai, BUT you can get it with glass noodles here so that’s nice. We also got some appetizers that were yummy. And, some of the best thai iced tea I have had! The service was friendly too. It seemed a little quiet for a Friday night, more people should go here.

Came here about 30 minutes before closing and were the only ones there. Service was impeccable, prices were decent and best of all the food was really fast, hot, and amazing! Definitely the best Thai in Silver Spring. We were pleased to hear they have 1.5 mile delivery radius so we will be eating from here often!

Food — 2 stars, service — pretty much perfect(though it could be that we were really the only dine in customers), so this place gets an average rating. We came here on a Friday night and the place was pretty empty. There were some people seated at the bar and then there was us. The service was amazing though. Really attentive staff, food came out quick, and they checked in to refill our drinks often. I wasn’t really that impressed with the food itself though. We got the spicy fried rice and the pad thai. I liked the heat on the friend rice but the meat(we got it with pork) was overlooked and dry. Same with the meat(chicken) that came with the pad thai. The noodles in the pad thai were also slightly mushy. And the pad thai sauce was a little too sweet for my tastes. I also got the Thai iced tea, which was very sweet.

Kitchen Thai is a new restaurant on the Silver Spring food scene, but for me it did not disappoint in the least. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. For starters we had the shrimp in a blanket(?), not sure of the name but it was tasty. We also had the spring rolls for free as they honored the Unilocal check-in deal. The roll was fresh tasting, not too oily and very crisp. For entrees I ordered one of their specials, the crispy salmon. You’re given the option of sauces, I chose Penang sauce. The salmon delivered on its name, it was crispy despite being covered in Penang sauce. It had a nice coconut and peanut flavor. My husband always orders drunken noodles at every Thai restaurant. He could not stop raving about his noodles. He ordered medium spice level and it was quite spicy, but super flavorful! We also ordered the spicy fried rice which was 5÷5… Just delicious. It’s safe to say we will definitely be returning!

This restaurant has limited vegetarian options if you are looking to avoid fish sauce. I ordered the fried Brussels sprout salad and the Tofu pad Thai. The Pad Thai was decent, typical of other ones I’ve had. No lime though, which would’ve been great. However, the fried Brussels sprout salad was off the hook! Fried deliciousness, spicy lime dressing, tomato and onion… I would probably order one of the fabulous-looking veggie entrees from Kaothai and pick up the salad from Kitchen Thai!

Great. Nice people. Good food. Great flavors. Anything else I have to say? Not really. The service was great, the people there were actually from Thailand, so you know that the food is authentic.

Very good Thai food at a reasonable price. We ordered two Thai ice teas, veggie spring rolls, panang curry with tofu, and the crispy fried cashew chicken. Everything exceeded expectations, and cost less than other Thai places in Silver Spring. Definitely try it out, I will be back for sure

Very good Thai restaurant that serves as a counter to Khao Thai just up the block. Started off with the«Sun-Dried Beef» — strips of marinated, deep fried beef served with a sriracha sauce. Very nice. A really good app. Papaya salad was nicely done. Not the best I’ve ever had but competent. I thoroughly enjoyed the«Spicy Eggplant» with chicken, served medium hot(American medium hot, not Thai medium hot. An important distinction.) The«Spicy Fried Rice» was good. It’s a similar dish to the Kaprow Fried Rice at Khao Thai but not as good. But, then again, the Kaprow Fried Rice is far and away my favorite fried rice dish of all. Service was pleasant and the space is nicely decorated. The addition of a second Thai restaurant to the block only mean each will have to stay on top of their game if they want to thrive. It’s a win-win for Silver Spring.

I got chicken basil and beef green curry lunch special and request for extra spicy. It’s just the right balance of spices and very delicious. The price is not over price like the other either. I’ll definitely come back here.

Arguably the best the delivery option in DTSS. I ordered the lunch pad thai, spicy, with cellophane noodles. It was an ample serving of fresh, wonderfully flavored and spiced noodles. There was a good portion of chicken, peanuts, sprouts, and scallions in the mix. This dish was such a pleasant change from the usual overly sauced, mushy noodle dishes I find at most Thai places in the area. I also got the Brussels sprout salad which was another winner. The bitter earthiness of the Brussels sprouts where a great balance to sweet chili sauce, crunchy cashews and onions. Kitchen Thai is definitely my new go-to for delivery and pad thai cravings!

What a mess. Come in for lunch to go. Bill came, they charged for dinner price. Asked the waitress about it. Her first response was because I added tofu. After I pointed out the price different. Her response was they don’t have that in lunch special. Then why it is in the menu, also carry out menu and didn’t state it is not for the lunch price tag as it states. It is the dishonest attitude in this new place makes me never go back and I haven’t even try the food yet.

I really loved Zensai(the sushi spot that used to be here) but was pleasantly surprised with the Thai food here. Received a coupon in the mail and went to check it out. Ordered shrimp pad Thai and crispy tilapia in the basil chili sauce and both were absolutely delicious! Great, quick service as well. Will definitely be returning without doubt.

Wasn’t bad, but wasn’t wowed by the panang either. There’s stiff competition in Thai these days — this urrea has come a long way from the days when Tara Thai was the only option. That said — you need to bring it if you’re going to open a Thai spot. I cannot say that Kitchen Thai did.
