Very good food, but very long wait. Don’t go if you’re in a hurry, you wo ‘t be happy. Don’t bother calling ahead either as it does ‘t get done any faster. They cook the meat fresh once you order. Then you wait. I’ve been there 4 times now over 6 months and my average wait time is about 30 minutes. If you have time, the food is very good.

Been to many kabob joints in the area but none of the food seems to compare to this one. We drive past many kabob places from Germantown to eat the goat kahari and chat shala here, Sure, the place is very plain and unpretentious but you come for the food for like to told you. The guys at the counter and the kitchen are quite freidnly and accommodating. A tad pricey but very much worth it. The joint is really clean too so I find.

I’m a Maryland local and this is probably one of my top 5 places to eat. The karahi chicken is spicy and amazing. It’s a hidden gem/hole in the wall type place. The food is always amazing quality and the yogurt sauce is great. We have tried other stuff like the lamb chops and Chana masala there and they are all great too but the karahi chicken is the best. We even got a party catered by them. Would highly highly recommend if you are into spicy authentic desi food.

Food OK, but customer service sucks!!! These guys don’t know how to talk to their customers and when they do, they talk with an attitude. They gave me a side of rice with my Kabob and asked me if I wanted brown sauce on the rice. I told them I wanted the sauce on the side not on the rice. They told me they can’t do that, for that would make it two sides, but no problem putting it on rice. All they did was argue with me about the whole thing and I didn’t even get what I wanted. I’ve been there once since then and its the same bad attitude!!! I love eating Kabob, but I think I’m done with this place, time to find a new Kabob place.

Delicious, reasonably priced kabobs & other Pakistani offerings, friendly staff. Great place to come and try something new! Good for anyone including families since a lot of their food(eg karahi) is served family-style or their portions are big enough to share. The environment was low key(cafeteria-style booths and tables), friendly staff, home cooked food, and great variety of options. You order at the front and wait until your food is ready. Everything we ordered was delicious and reminded me of my childhood friend’s mom’s cooking. Savory, flavorful, authentic, and bold flavored! Here’s what we ordered: 1) chicken tikka: good and pretty standard. Grilled fresh and well seasoned 2) beef stew special: absolutely delicious; tender and flavorful 3) chickpeas: one of their best sides! 4) spinach: very good 5) lamb karahi: downright delicious and enough for at least two people! Served family style. 6) sweet ball-shaped dessert: just ok! A little too heavy on the cardamom 7) naan: comes w/every entrée; hot and delicious Make sure to get a side of their lovely basmati rice if you are sharing or to make a complete meal for your leftovers tomorrow! Summary: I recommend getting the karahi or one of their daily specials if you enjoy unique and authentic tastes. You honestly can’t go wrong trying new things here!

Most South Asian restaurants in the area are Indian. Few are actually Pakistani. Kabab N Karahi is solidly Pakistani. And it is awesome. This modest restaurant does not seek to be fancy but it is successfully in being an awesome family restaurant with authentic dishes from back home. Their Chana Malala is perfect. Various dals are awesome. It is our go-to place to grab a few dishes for dinner and for gatherings at home. Breathe deep when you walk in. That’s the smell of awesome Pakistani food.

Amazing Pakistani food. Apparently, the owner/chef here was the original chef at Ravi, and it showed in the food. The food tastes very similar to Ravi, and I think it was even better. The chicken kabob was juicier and less overcooked that Ravi has recently been doing. The seekh karahi was also really good. Just as good as Ravi Kabob, if not better.

So we walk in and I only see men. And I’m like uhhhh, but then you look around and see a few women scattered around. Not that I care, I’d just feel awkward. My dad and I were starving so we ordered chicken boti kabob and seekh kabob. It took approximately 20 – 30 mins for the food to arrive, so by that time, we were ravenous. The food arrived, and we were shocked. There was so much food! The naans were as big as both of our faces combined! And we ordered two! And the chicken boti pieces were gargantua as well! [specificaly we ordered chicken boti kabob one plate with chole on the side, and seekh kabob one plate with curry on the side. We got raita and salad per plate as well] We began to dig in and quickly realized our likes and dislikes. I liked the seekh kabob, as it was juicy and moist and flavorful. However, my dad and I are Indian, and for us the spice level was too low. Seekh kabobs require a certain level of spiciness which this kabob did not have. However, the curry that came with it as a side dish was another story! It was absolutely amazing! Sour, spicy, all the right things to an authentic Mumbai curry. Next, the chicken boti kabob. It was very succulent, and was scorching hot when we got it. However, since the pieces were so HUGE, their was not as much flavor as well(since all of the flavor is on the exterior). The chole(side dish) was also another story. ABSOLUTELYAMAZING. Although it’s your typical chole that you can get in any typical Indian restaurant, I don’t know… it was just magical. The naans were scrumptious and amazing. We had so much leftover(even though we were starving) that we took food home! Ambience was alright. To kill time there wasn’t much to do except play around with the new snapchat filters :) Plus, the tables and seating arrangements were weird. The seats were so much lower than the table, that it was awkward to sit. Anyways, overall spice level was low, and ambience was kind of weird.

In case you are not aware– curry stains do not come out of clothing. You can try, but it’s better to just say farewell to your stained shirt. My suggestion is to wear curry colored clothing, or to be very careful. This is a classic case of «order to go, and try not to touch anything on your way out the door.» Enough with the warnings! The food at K&K is worth the need for careful eating. The kabobs are cooked to order and arrive hot and juicy. The chicken curry was drowning in too much oily sauce, but was tender and filled with flavor even after I pulled the meat off the bone and ate it with the somewhat crispy naan. The samosas are filled with potato and spice, and are easy to make a meal on their own, especially if you order them as a chat samosa, which I highly recommend. They are also the best way to round out a vegetarian meal here, as it is a bowl filled with crumbled samosa, chickpea curry, lettuce, tomato, onion, and sauce. Chat samosa is my favorite thing to order when I spot it on a menu, and this restaurant’s version is nicely done. Each time I’ve visited I’ve been happy to see to-go orders flying out the door as the tables fill with regulars. The space isn’t beautiful, and isn’t spotless, but it is easy to see why. Every employee is needed in the busy kitchen at all times, and I doubt much thought went into the décor beyond«tables, chairs.» One last word of warning(not that I’m traumatized or anything…) when curry spills on tables it takes more than a few swipes with a napkin to make it disappear. Just pick your seat carefully, be ready to clean up before and after your meal, and be ready to leave with a full and happy belly.

This place is nasty. Save yourself and go to Ravi kabob or kabob palace. The karhai tastes like boiled chicken cooked in canned tomatoes and the owner is extremely rude. I was given half cooked meat and he tried to convince me I was wrong. The yogurt in the chutney had spoiled and made me sick. Def avoid this place if you can.

The best Pakistani food in MD. It’s very fresh, the none is good The gentlemen cleaning the table is very nice and helpful. the only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is they need improvements on the service and they need to be little more happy and polite

Review is for the Karahi only since I haven’t tried the Kabobs here. Tried the Chicken Karahi with sides of alu palak & lahori chole. Honestly none of the food was flavorful and the only taste was the heat component. The alu palak was bland, lahori chole although they look good were okay(I guess I’m comparing it to chana masala) and the chicken karahi was the most disappointing. The quantity was good but once you dig into the curry has barely any flavor(heat is not a flavor). I don’t know if they had a off day or what but I won’t be coming back. The place was pretty much packed on a Monday night so I’m guessing this place is popular with the locals. If you want to try out good Pakistani food, try out Tulip Grill(formerly Kabob n Curry) in Frederick, MD.

This sure don’t look like Silver Spring to me. The address threw me for a loop. What’s wrong with saying it’s in Cloverly? Or even Colesville? If Cloverly is Silver Spring then Rockville is Bethesda. Anyhow… I came on Saturday to eat Haleem and I wasn’t disappointed. Very tasty Haleem. I recommend it. Chickpeas very good too. I would come back often if I lived closer. I’ll tell my niece to go. She lives in the real Silver Spring.

This hole in the wall joint is one of the best Pakistani restaurants i have been to here in the DMV. The food is fresh and the flavors are great. The kebabs and the karahi pots have distinct flavors unlike most Indian restaurants. The portions are large and well worth the price you pay. This place is open late on weekends and that is plus for those of you who enjoy a spicy meal late at night. Of the desserts served, the Rasmali is standout and is a must try I would recommend this place to any and all who want to pig out on good home style cooking at reasonable prices.

Sooo… I go into this review with my nose turned up because, well… I just don’t get this place. I’ll tell ya what I DO get though… the food. BOMBDOTCOM back slash Im a fat fat, 4 stars easy… But the service is a joke. And dare I say it? At times race does seem to play a part in treatment. Yeaaah I know, but it’s true. Okay, here’s the good ish… The food is amazing. I am still trying to replicate that damn Kafti Kabob. The lamb chops are so succulent you WILL commit to them, and ONLY them. NO side lambs. You are DONE playing the field, ok? Committed relationship from here on in. ;) And Idk about you but chickpeas should just accompany damn near everything. Or at least theirs should. The naan is so fluffy, and rich, and they don’t have to foofoo it up by adding cheese and peppers or whatever establishments’ are doing to coerce ppl into eating it who don’t get it. ITSBREAD. Nada more or less and if you’re doing it right, its a great edible spoon, bowl, juices catcher, compliment in general to all the meals. OK…so this service right here, is why I prefer dogs over people. SMH… The ish is SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Like run to China slow. Like get your mom off the phone, slow. Like sitting in 495 on Tuesday @ 4:30 pm SLOW! And it blows my high every time @ how unapologetic the staff is about the complete and utter farce that is that wait time. LOL. I call in my order almost every time I eat here. They say 20 mins, every time. I give them 30 mins, every time. And I get there and wait an additional 25 mins… EVERYTIME! UGHHH! DAMNTHEDELICIOUSNESSOFTHATLAMB! I would’ve been vapor by now if not for it. And I don’t care if some get their panties in a bunch over this next statement but its TRUE so oh well, but on several occasions, regular patrons, or ppl who speak the language will walk in, wait in the same line, place their order like everyone else, chat up the cashier and magically leave with their food before everyone else. Unilocal doesn’t pay me to hold the bullshiz so, I’m just gonna give ya the quick and dirty. While waiting, Ive heard many a shouting match about this between random customers and staff. Its kind of a drag. If they’d just pass out lamb chops to pacify me while I age in line waiting for my food, I’m sure I could pretend I don’t notice. Hehe. That being said… they are usually stoic in face, and very hurried, which comes across rude but doesn’t really irk me personally. So I guess that’s …something? Others take it differently. LOL Anyhoo… the food is amazing. Just take patience, a phone with 100% battery life and a Snickers, cuz you’re not going anywhere for a while, and you’re probably not yourself when you’re HANGRY. :) 3⁄5 tummy rubs.

I discovered Kabob N Karahi on my way to the dentist. Kabob N Karahi is a Middle Eastern-Indian fast food restaurant, where you order in the back of the restaurant and pickup your order when the cashier calls your number(on the bottom of the receipt). The restaurant is moderately clean. They offer daily specials ranging from Lamb or Chicken Curry to Chicken Biryani(on Friday’s, Saturday’s, and Sunday’s). For drinks, you can get canned soda(e.g., Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Sunkist, Canada Dry, or Mountain Dew), bottled water, V8, Lassi, Mango Lassi, or Chai Tea. I’d say that the chicken kabob are tastier and more tender than the ones at Moby Dick’s and Sadaf Halal Restaurant in Rockville. However, the service is slow in the sense that expect to wait at least 20 minutes for your order. I ordered a Chai Tea and a Chicken Boti Kabob. The Indian Masala Chai Tea was served hot in a styrofoam cup and lacked flavor(needs more sugar). The Chicken Boti Kabob consisted of five, large, boneless pieces of chicken marinated overnight in their special house sauce and cooked on a skewer, charcoally grilled to perfection. Each entrée comes with a naan, a side, and salad with chutney. The sides are limited — you have a choice of white rice, chickpeas or vegetables(green beans and potatoes in a spicy sauce). When they say something’s not spicy, it means that the dish is mildly spicy.

This is one of my all time favorite places to go when I’m in the mood for some comfort food. Yes, the seats are a bit worn down and a little uncomfortable, but who cares when the meat is succulent and the chickpeas delectable! Prepare to wait for your food as it is made to order and that includes the naan. ~ Happy Eats ~

This place is absolutely fantastic! My brother raved about this place and I know he has great taste in food so I had to try this place out. Last Saturday after work, I decided to try it out with the company of my brother. Mind you, this place is kinda far from where we live. It takes a good 45 minutes to get there driving the speed limit. Fortunately, my brother drives a little faster. I saw the business and it looks kinda run down. A hole in the wall, run down, generic looking place in a generic looking plaza somewhere in Silver Spring. And Silver Spring has a plethora of generic looking places. I walked inside and it’s literally a hole in the wall. It had tables and booths that looked pretty old and when you see the counter and the kitchen in the back, you’ll see that the place had nothing«new» in it. Except the food. So we walked in, my brother ordered for me since I didn’t know what to get. He ordered the Lamb Karahi(for 2) and a side of rice and an extra side of naan plus 3 water bottles. We sat down on the half booth/half chair table on the side and waited patiently. There was a line before us so it took a little while. My brother told me that when he came here the other day, it was empty until they sat down and waited for their order. Then, the place got packed. Well, the same happened when I came. There were about 4 people in front of us and no one at the tables. When we sat down, the place got packed. And I mean packed. Every table was occupied and there was a line halfway across the building. We finally got our food and it smelled marvelous. Here’s a warning to those of you who are not«adventurous» and even to some, it may have an acquired smell/taste to it. We all had Kabobs before and many of us had Persian, Afghani and Indian food but this place is quite different. It has a distinct smell and flavor to it. I can’t explain the taste or what spices they used to make it different but it definitely seems like it’s authentic. Remember that I said«SEEMS» so don’t get the wrong idea if it really isn’t authentic food. 2 pieces of Naan that were big enough to cover a whole plate, 1 small bowl of rice and a wok-looking pan filled with the succulent Lamb Karahi. Now, we could have gotten more but my sister’s birthday party was a few hours after our meal here. I know we’re fat haha! But I had to try this place out! My brother took it easy while I basically swallowed(#Pause) the whole damn meal. There were pieces of bone marrow littering the dish and chunks of juicy, bone-in lamb smothered in their specialty sauce which was all spectacular. I ate both Naan bread and a spoon of rice when my brother had just the rice. By the time we were done eating, everything looked like they were just washed and cleaned because I swapped every little piece of lamb and sauce with the Naan and breathed it into my tummy! Oh, another warning, if you’re not a huge fan of spicy food then make sure to tell them you want mild because we got it spicy and it was SPICY! But I loved it. My brother on the other hand had to visit the bathroom numerous times that night. I grabbed a menu and while we were driving back home, I saw that the place had LAMBBRAINS! :O I’m planning to come here today after work to try it out! The portions aren’t that big compared to what we’re used to and the prices are a bit higher than usual but in the end, they were well worth the trip and price.
