This place has huge potential of success. The masala sliders, fries, and the chicken tikka biriani are unique and fun dishes.

I love Khana! I feel like they have given people«not so regular» Indian food. And they make it very friendly to eat in terms of being able to choose what to eat. They«K.I.S.S» it(keep it simple stupid) and I love that! My favorite meal is the spicy chicken wrap as well as the chicken tikka wings!

Food is very average. They used the same base for channa masala and malai kofta(2 dishes that are radically different for the uninitiated)! Further the curries felt weird. My wife and I found ourselves feeling sick for a few hours.

so I commented somewhere about this place about it being decent but the old guy who runs this place im guessing, is completely rude. not many people(who don’t know the language) are going to understand what a chicken tikka masala is when it doesn’t have the description that it’s basically butter chicken. my boyfriend thought it was good so we came again with his friend. he was asking what they meant and the guy started getting smart raising his voice saying«its butter chicken SAMETHING» i don’t care if the food is decent, I don’t wanna spend money somewhere when the manager is a complete jerk.

We have tried this place twice and disliked the food both times. It really isn’t up to par with real Indian food. The wraps are especially horrific. Disgusting! The food takes forever to be prepared and staff are not very friendly. The prices are also high and amount of food small.

Finally got a chance to try this place out and I’m glad I did! Tried the tandoori chicken, chicken Tikka masala, and chicken korma. The tandoori was perfect! The Tikka masala and korma was tasty, but not nearly enough spice, even though I said medium heat… maybe it’d be better to get«hot» next time. Also got the veggie samosas and they were delicious as well. As for the service, no complaints! Will definitely be back to try out some other things.

The space is almost industrial, high ceiling and exposed ductwork. The hard surfaces would be a noise problem if everyone wasn’t either using their mouth to eat or head down on their device with the free WiFi. The menu is short, barely more than a food truck, I went for the Friday special, fish curry for $ 11.99. Nice complexity and«medium» was right for me on the heat, good kick but not quite a scalp sweat. It was cooked just a little past what I like, but not mush, and left a layer of oil on the bottom of the plate when I was done. Solid basmati rice. Fresh hot naan. The mango lassi was so thick it barely got through the straw, good balance of sweetness with the yogurt tang. I might have gone 4 *** on the flavor, but the quantity/price did not compare to Sapphire’s $ 9.95 lunch buffet. OK if you are in the area and get a curry crave, wouldn’t make a special trip.

Lamb kelbob very tender, and flavorful. Light airy atmosphere near Giant foods. I have asked for very spicy and it is about a 6 out of 10. Chickpea and jasmine rice are always well done.

Khana is a complete jewel in downtown Burtonsville. The area is slowly revitalizing and Khana is part of that. The food is traditional Indian fare from different regions and is always prepared above and beyond. Everyone I have interacted with there has been amazingly friendly and enthusiastic. Their biryani are simply beautiful and use fresh ingredients that you can taste — whole apricots that have slow cooked to give the biryani an amazing savory flavor. The flavors are so very well balanced and aromatic, you can even choose the level of heat spice and they have delicious desserts to cap your meal. Definitely try the gulab jamun and the mango lassi. My wife and I were so excited to see it open and it has easily become one in our top three near us. Traditional fare, wonderful staff and they are working on setting up delivery. Simply phenomenal for quick service, go there now!

I had some cravings for Indian food and I found that this restaurant was close to where I live, so I decided to give it a shot. As soon as my friend and I entered the restaurant, we knew that we were at an Indian restaurant as the odor of various spices were strong. We didn’t mind it’s just we knew that the smell would stick to our clothes. I ordered the chicken tikka masala as suggested by the worker. I also got a side of masala fries. The chicken tikka masala came with rice and a salad. However, the rice to chicken ratio was bad; there was barely any rice to complement the chicken. In addition, the salad was a basic lettuce and ranch dressing salad. The chicken tikka masala was flavorful and the chicken was made just right. My friend got the chicken kabob, which came with a small portion of rice and salad just like mine. These meals also came with naan bread, which was okay but not the best. I got the chance of tasting the chicken kabob and it was really dry and bland. My friend also got the mango lassi, which I got the chance to also try. It was not my type; it was not that sweet and the yogurt overpowered the mango taste. The worker who was at the register seemed as if he didn’t want to be there. He didn’t greet us or ask what we wanted to order. He kept disappearing to the back even when there were people coming in and trying to order.

It is about time Burtonsville got an Indo-Pakistani restaurant, even if it is just a quick eats style. We ordered the malai chicken wrap, the lamb wrap, and the chicken tikka wrap. The wraps were all very good, except they were overloaded with sauces, that made it very hard to eat and the naan wrap ended up falling apart. The service is meh, and could use a little more attention to detail.

Attention Owner: The young African American lady who works there is a severe slacker. She never answers the phone for carry out orders, always hangs out in the kitchen while customers wait and on many occasions has closed the restaurant early Please do something about this immediately!

Ordered the Chicken Biryani, and the Chicken Tikka Masala for dinner last night, and chose the medium level of spice. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious! Definitely exceeded my expectations. There were generous portions of chicken in each dish, and the level of spice was definitely a nice surprise. If I’m ever in a daring mood I’ll try the spicy level next time, though I may regret it later. But its worth a try. The one thing that was slightly disappointing was the plastic compartmentalized dish the chicken tikka masala came in, which included a small portion of white rice, and salad. I would much rather have a heaping portion of chicken tikka masala in a single dish but I’m sure there is a business reason for doing this. I’ll definitely be a repeat customer to Khana, and am thankful for a local Indian restaurant.

Khana is an interesting place. The signage, décor, and menu make the place look like a chain or franchise, but I can’t find any others so they must have designed all of this and the décor themselves. It’s very professional looking. The high ceilings, sky lights, and painted interior are all very nice and relaxing. The food? It’s okay. The lamb korma was quite pleasant. The sauce was delicate and the meat was very tender. The Chicken Tikka Masala was ordered«medium hot» and it was pretty damn hot. So be careful about your spice-factor when ordering. There was also way too much sauce in relation to the small amount of rice that they give you. The meat was a little over cooked, but not so dry that it was hard to get through. Both dishes came with micro-salads which are a complete waste of time and space. They’d be better off filling that space with more rice. Both orders came with ample servings of naan which I must say was quite excellent. Next time I’ll be trying the garlic and cheese varieties to see if they’re as good. They had several other things on their menu which looked appetizing so I’ll be headed back to see if I can find their«wheel house.» I’ll update this review once I’ve had another sample. For now, I’m giving them 3 stars.

I think this place scratches the Indian craving perfectly and inexpensively. Is it up to par with Royal Taj, no — but then again, it’s a no frills, plastic cutlery, order at the counter type of place. An older gentleman took our order. He was pleasant and the food arrived with hardly any wait. The veggie pakora was crisp and spicy, accompanied by a spicy green sauce and a sweeter brown sauce. The samosa was fat, fried hard and stuffed with a warmly spiced concoction of potatoes and peas. Both were good. I had ordered the«medium» spiced chicken tikka masala and boy, did that pack a powerful savory/sweet tomato punch. Portions are ample, plenty of chicken in the masala — accompanied by warmed, chewy naan, rice and a small salad(shredded lettuce).

Burtonsville is on the up and up. You can’t beat the new options that are popping up all over the area. I mean good food within 10 minutes is beyond clutch. Khana Grille opened up in the past year I think and as a lover of all Indian food I was excited to give this place a try. Especially if it could save me from the 20 – 30 minute drive up to Columbia. My go to meal has always been the spicy lamb vindaloo. I’ll usually wash it down with some mango lassi and maybe pick up some gulab jamun. The lamb vindaloo is good, the curry has a nice flavor to it and the lamb is tender. The basmati rice is good and the regular meal comes with a small side salad. For a couple more dollars you can get channa(chick peas instead). The overall meal is good, nothing exciting IMO. I still come here from time to time whenever I’m craving spicy lamb vindaloo though. The naan is always good. The couple times I’ve picked up the gulab jamun it didn’t seem fresh, maybe they make it in batches, I’m not sure but it was only okay for me. It’s also just a little pricey with the lamb pieces on the smaller side and a couple pieces less than I’m used to. Yes I know Indian food tends to be on the expensive side but I feel like you get just a little less here, just my opinion though. The customer service has always been great and I’ve never really seen this place packed. The wait is usually 15 – 20 min if you walk in and order so I’d recommend calling ahead instead. I wouldn’t risk life and limb for this curry but it is a good convenient option.

I really wanted to give Khana more stars. I appreciate the concept and the food. It really is a unique atmosphere and a great idea. BUT… it took 50 minutes to get my food! I didn’t have a huge order, just an individual order of Chicken Tikka and an extra side of Naan to go. I tried them out for the first time on this particular day because I was in a rush and under the impression my food would come out relatively quick. I was there on a Friday before the lunchtime rush, placed my order in person at 11:30 and did not receive it until 12:20. There were a good 3 tables of people sitting at tables without food who must have ordered before me and another 5 tables of people without food who ordered after me. After about 30 minutes we were all looking very desperate, perhaps on the verge of eating a straw. The employee at the register did the best he could apologizing to all of us but that only goes so far. Maybe bring out some naan for us to munch on if this happens again? Some people looked ready to leave, others looked like they just wanted their money back. None of us looked happy that’s for sure! I think a major problem was the number of people who waltzed in having ordered huge orders online. Their orders were all ready the second they got there while the food we ordered in person came out at a snails pace. Hopefully they can work on how they streamline the online and in person orders. The food was good but I’d never risk it again having had to wait so long. Sorry Khana :(

Khana has a beautiful clean atmosphere and their food is incredible for that price. I have been here twice. Last night I had the chicken tikka masala with mango lassi and gulab jamun for dessert. Today for lunch, I had the paneer masala with garlic naan. The«mild» curry is what wimps like me would call«medium,» but it was an excellent balance and very flavorful. The side salad left much to be desired. It’s a cup of shredded iceberg lettuce with hidden valley ranch on top. I’ve had the plain naan and the garlic naan, and both were very warm, fluffy, and delicious! The mango lassi is lovely. It’s refreshing and not too sweet. The gulab jamun is very good but it is served cold in a to-go container next to the mango lassi and rice pudding in the fridge. I highly recommend taking the gulab jamun home and heating it in the microwave! I’ve read several reviews of people complaining about the wait time. I have never waited more than ten minutes for my food. Maybe I got lucky? Or maybe they were unlucky. Who knows. I’ve had two very positive and delicious experiences here. Highly recommend. I would love to see this restaurant add saag paneer to the menu! It’s one of my favorites as well.

Bright warm welcoming décor! Lots of selections in this«each order made fresh» menu that includes vegetarian options! We shared the«Korma», «Paneer Masala», and«Lamb Biryani» meals! With sides of fragrant gently spiced rice and crisp salad with rich creamy dressing! A fresh basket of naan accompanied our meal! We shared and consumed everything with gusto!!! We were happy to learn Khana restaurant caters and look forward to enjoying this marvelous restaurant’s amazing cuisine!
