I’m a fan of going to any«local» type of café(vs the chains coughcoughStarbucks) because I find the coffee tastes better/less burnt. I love to grab a coffee from here before heading in to do my grocery shopping for the week. Every once in a while I’ve had to wait a while for the barista to get back from break(no sign up or anything) but other than that, service and coffee is good.

Nothing like feeling invisible to start off the day. When it was my turn to be served(after someone who came in after me was served because the line was wonky) without any greeting the barista started helping people in line behind me who seemed like friends of hers. I walked out, Starbucks in a can it is this morning.

I’m a former Seattle-ite, but now a Shoreline resident since 2002. This actual city(incorporated 1995) sorely lacks in a wider selection of independent cafes and restaurants. But due to proximity to where I live and Central Market, this is hands down the one I tend to go to. I can’t count Diva Espresso and Black Rock — because that’s still within the Seattle city limits. The other Shoreline indies are further away like Café Aroma, Richmond Beach Coffee Shop, The Bounty, and Java Jane. I’m definitely not including the bikini barista huts that dot Hwy 99/Aurora. Pros — Punch cards! Plus another CA walk-up at the Colman Dock/Seattle-Bainbridge Island-Bremerton ferry terminal. Cons — Limited hours, sometimes inconsistent baristas(I like my mochas not so cloying), and it’s a teeny tiny location(=nowhere to sit, except outside which is fine only hot summer days).

Ugh. It seems Jamie and some of the other super friendly and personable staff have gone away and what was once a place I would go out of my way to visit, now only gets frequented occasionally by me when I am in the area. Not only has the personality and energy ‘left the building’, but the remaining baristas could use a brush up on pulling a good espresso shot. Disappointing visits of late… dropping 2 stars

The barista here is super friendly in an authentic way. The coffee is really good here too. Sky nursery and this place has the best coffee in Shoreline.

Great coffee and great location! I love to grab a soy latte before I get my shopping on at Central Market. My favorite barista left to take a different job. :-(
