I love the fish here… especially the Cajun. Very reasonable prices and specials every day. The service can be hit or miss

We had to drive up to Pottsboro to pick up something out of our boat storage, and were headed back home late on a Sunday. We love Huck’s Catfish, but it’s closed on Sundays. Wendy’s is a possibility, but I’m tired, and I want to head toward Big D, not OK. Lots of discussion about where to go was going on, and no consensus. We were passing everything as we headed south on 75, and running out of options. I threw out Catfish King, and everyone settled out of tiredness, hunger and frustration. I don’t think any of us had been to a CK since they closed in Plano many years ago. We have missed it. We walked in around 8:30 pm and they were cleaning up in prep for closing. they were even cleaning out the fryers in the kitchen, so we wondered if we could still eat. They said sure, anything we wanted. Everyone got some catfish, and some got chicken too. Prices seemed reasonable, be even more so when the food came out. Wow! Huge portions! Everything was hot, fresh, cooked perfectly. Even the baked potatoes were tasty and cooked just right. In our discussion, everyone agreed the food was far better than our expectations and an excellent value. We all had leftovers to pack up and made a nice snack the next day. Reading back through the other reviews here, I’m hoping maybe management got the message and cleaned up their act, as we didnt see any issues. Yes, they were cleaning the restaurant, but hey, at least it was CLEAN. And they didnt clean in our area while we were eating. Summing up, I would eat here again in a heartbeat.

The entire time we were there a girl was sweeping the floor all around us. The smell of cleaner was very strong where another girl was mopping. The girl who brought us our food was the same one sweeping. And without washing her hands. Next the girl picked up a rag off the floor and wiped a table with it! Not again will I come here!

It’s not fast food, so impatient people should not bash them for taking time to cook your food when it’s ordered. A place like this, I get out and go in to order food to go. Doing so today, I had perfectly nice people and service and a very good meal of catfish and sides.

I’m giving one star because it wont allow me to give zero. I went thru the drive thru at 12:03 expecting to wait 5 min or so since I was the only person in line. Ten minutes later I still had no food and no one had spoken to me since they took my money right as I got to the drive-thru window. I honked and the front counter person came over, I told her how long I’d been waiting and she went to check. A lady(I’m assuming cook since she had a dirty apron) came to the window and told me my food was still cooking. I said I wanted my money back because I had to get back to work. She told me it was gonna take longer because she had to call and get permission from the GM. I said fine – call. She did and after a 3 min discussion with someone on the phone came back, asked for my tea back and finally gave my money back along with a lecture on how rude I was and how I should not expect to be told if my food is going to take longer than 5 min to cook – even when in the drive thru. If this is truly the«management» attitude, I wont be back. Any restaurant that is going to have you wait more than 5 min always tells you that in the drive-thru. Any«management» person that will yell at a customer should not be in management.

First you have to take this place for what it is, it’s like a Long John Silvers but for catfish. My wife and I stopped through on our way to Eisenhower State Park a week ago for a quick bite before camping. We hit the drive thru and ordered two combos each consisting of 4 catfish, fries, pinto beans, coleslaw, and tomato relish. For $ 6.99 each there was no reason to complain. The food was plenty, though the filets were a bit small coupled with all the sides there was more than enough. The fish was decent, batter was ok and the fish was moist and flaky. The fries were meh nothing special. We both liked the beans and coleslaw and I love the tomato relish so I ate both portions. Overall worth the stop for a quick cheap bite of fried fish.

A better name would be the«Catfish Jester». When I saw the tiny, unappealing pieces of fish I thought they were kidding me. Don’t waste your time and money.

There are too many disappointments to overlook. The salad is made from the cheapest iceberg lettuce you can buy and is pre-made hours before you order it. When I first looked at the hush puppies, I thought they looked like egg rolls. They were perfectly round and uniform, with an interior that was a completely different texture from the very different crust on the outside. Bizarre. The breading on the catfish was basically unseasoned. The tartar sauce was awful and very unappetizing. The dining room would have been OK, except that the multiple televisions were turned up so loud you couldn’t ignore them. On the plus side, you get a lot of food for the money, the French fries were not bad, and the tomato relish served on the side was interesting — in fact, the most interesting part of the meal.
