Don’t bother calling in with a question about anything, they are clearly way above your needs.

A relic to a simpler time when people acquired their news & information via print. Ahhh, those were the days, right? When there was a newsstand on every major intersection and you could stroll, grab a newspaper and a couple magazines and just relax without the distractions of technology.. .alas, life happens and cell phones pervaded every segment of daily life, rendering newsstands moot, and nearly extinct. Well, the good news is that places like Sherman Oaks newsstand still exist — and the selection is massive. Every magazine and newspaper you can think of is still on the shelves, and the customer service manager has a beard that would make ZZ Top envious. Best of all, he knows every nook & cranny of the stand and is happy to help you out, finding your selection — or something very similar. It’s a great location, and along with Pita Kitchen adds the only half block in the Valley that actually feels like an urban, NYC-like center. The take credit cards as well as cash, and parking can be a beast but it’s best to stroll up afoot; it’ll take you back to those simpler times when you actually read off of paper.

I work on private planes out of VNY and this place is a god send! They are open 24hrs a day and are easy to get too. Wide selection of mags and papers and they take credit cards! If you are going down Ventura it is right across the street from a gas station.

This newsstand is right in the corners of where Crave Café is at! It’s fun coming out of a great dinner and seeing this ginormous newsstand. They have a wide range of magazines… my cravings at 3am were Bridal Magazines for my upcoming wedding in February 2013. My gay husbands was a magazine that Brad Pitt was on. The man that worked there did not speak a word of English though, which kind of weird for me because I kept trying to talk to him… The stand is kept nice and neat, which makes it easy to find things.
