I love Pita Kitchen! They’ve messed up my orders a few times, but the quality and flavor of their food completely makes up for it. The meats are amazing and taste fresh, and you HAVE to try the falafel wrap.

This restaurant is a small hole in the wall restaurant with a few tables inside and a few outside the restaurant. Street parking takes a bit of patience but it is available. I had the falafel plate which came with 10 falafel balls on a nice warm bed of rice along with tabulleli with a lemon, hummus and tahini sauce. The food was absolutely superb. The hummus had a nice savory flavor and the falafel was crispy and well seasoned. There are lines out the door and the food takes at least 10 minutes to cook to order but it is worth the wait.

My favorite place to grub! Get the filet mignon plate so good. Sometimes I get tired of eating American, Mexican, and Asian food. Change it up and come here and you won’t be disappointed! And they’re not stingy at all… Oh and a little tapatio on your steak won’t hurt

Found this place by Unilocaling food places nearby my home. I seen they had pretty good reviews so why not stop by and see what the hype was about. In different occasions I’ve tried the chicken shawarma pita and the beef shish kabob pita with a side of fries. Both types of meats have great flavor and probably just depends on what you feel like eating if you had to choose between the 2. The portion of the pita could be enough for 2 people seriously. Pretty stuffed pita with a cucumber type salad inside with hummus as well. Very well seasoned pita and the fries aren’t bad neither. Also make sure you ask for the garlic spread, put it inside your pita sandwich for extra flavor and thank me later ;) they have a sign that says max you can have are 2 packs of the garlic spread and 25 cents for each additional which is a steal but 2 should be more than enough. Only think that sucks is parking around the area but I’ll still come back :)

I’ve been wanting to check this place out since moving to Sherman Oaks, and I’m glad I did. I had the chicken shish kabob plate with rice, salad, hummus, drink, and it was great! The service was excellent, the food was good, and prices were just right for Sherman Oaks. I definitely will be back… And the guy that took my order behind the counter was a cutie!

I’ve never had a bad meal here. The food is so good! Parking can be annoying, but if you get there early enough, there’s plenty of street parking at a meter.

Am I the only one who gets excited about left overs before I even start eating? No? Ok cool. Pita Kitchen has literally captured my heart. This tiny, unassuming restaurant in the heart of the valley has some of the best Mediterranean food I’ve ever encountered. On my first couple visits I indulged in the chicken shawarma wrap an it was divine. I was sure that’d be my go to order BUTTHEN I got a taste of the steak plate and nothing was ever the same! Only $ 11.50 for what seems like a full sized chopped and grilled ribeye, rice and two sides(always cucumber salad and tabouli for me) you seriously can’t beat it. I mean that’s less than what I pay for a steak from the grocery store! The service is always awesome and fast and the food is consistently delicious. This will definitely continue to be on the list of go o spots for my boyfriend and I. While there are plenty of similar spots closer to us, it’s definitely worth the 15 minute drive out of the way for the quality of food they serve.

Quick and easy would definitely try again. The chicken shawarma plate with salad and hummus is tasty! Everything goes tougher deliciously. Came with pita as well.

If you blink you might miss it. However, if you’re familiar with the venerable newsstand on the corner of Ventura Blvd and Van Nuys Blvd, then you’ll never miss it because it’s right next to it. Let me just preface and tell you that this inconspicuous hole in the wall is well worth scouring the surrounding area south of the busy intersection of Ventura Blvd and Van Nuys to find parking for. If all else fails, just call and order to pick up. As for the food, I can’t comment on the various plates or salads because I’ve never ordered those. All I know is that the chicken shawarma wrap has been my go to item for as long as I’ve been coming to this place and it has never failed. However, tonight I decided to change things up a bit and got the Chicken kebab wrap which turned out to be just as delicious. Highly recommended!

Portions: GINORMOUS. Flavor: GINORMOUS. This is a really tasty place for your Mediterranean fix. They have A LOT of different sides to choose from but you can’t go wrong with whichever one you decide. For my sides, I opted for the eggplant salad(so good) and the cucumber/tomato salad(again, so good). I also am a sucker for ground anything, so ground chicken, spices = Lulah kebob. SIGNMEUP! The meat was served like chicken patties rather than the long ground up skewers that I’m used to, but you know what? I liked it that way! It actually tasted so bomb dot com! LOTS of meat served over a bed of rice with my two sides and fresh pita bread. The place is simple. You order at the front, and you find a place to sit. No hassle. Price is right cause the freshness and the size of your plate! Man, place is GOOD!

Great meats /sides and nice hole-in-the-wall vibes. I eat here at least once a week and usually get food to-go. Never had a bad experience. I recommend chicken breast and schwarama mix

Went here today because I was starving after a college tour. I got the chicken shawarma on a wheat pita and a side of babaganoush. The pits was amazing and the chicken was so juicy. I ate the entire thing, and yes it is huge! The baba was good but not the best. The service was amazing, I highly recommend going back!

And another bookmarked location, checked off. I will start off on the positive; their customer service and pita, that’s all. The workers were kind and greeted you, one star. The other star was for the pita, which was actually the only thing I found myself eating more of, crispy to the bite yet soft on the inside. We ordered the steak and chicken kabob plates with fries, rice, hummus, tabouleh, and Greek salad for our sides. The steak was tender and the chicken grilled to perfection! But there was absolutely no flavor to them. Had there been seasoning I could taste this would have been winners. Sadly, their hummus was the same, no flavor to it. The tabouleh wasn’t too bad, it was okay. The fries were nothing special, it’s French fries from a bag, no complaints. And finally, the Greek salad was just masked in cheese, and I love feta, but this was a feta cheese salad with cucumbers. I truly wanted to love this place and have an alternative to California pita. But California has the upper hand in this one. I won’t be returning again.

What a hole in the wall, but a good one! This place is packed and for good reason. The food is great! Generous portions, well prepared and good service. They have a very small eat in area and sidewalk seating. They also deliver to certain areas nearby and have take out, of course. The hummus is delicious and they have some of the best babaghanoush I’ve eaten.

The food is OK for the price. It’s a hole on the wall, so don’t bring a date here! Customer service sucks. Really sucks… Finding parking is hard.

Not to pit local businesses against each other, but we were driven here by the end of the Falafel Friday special around the corner at California Pita. Both of these restaurants are tasty, but Pita Kitchen was definitely the more popular of the two, with a really steady stream of people the whole time we were there. The question is, were the people right? I dug my Pita. California’s are well-prepared and taste like what you think they should taste like, but Pita seems to be doing something a little different, more of a smoky, crunchy-granola taste to the falafel. There are places I like more than either of these two, but Pita may have the edge in the Sherman Oaks-Ventura Blvd stretch.

The Great Garbanzo. Part of the Fantastic Falafels. Sounds like a new superhero, right? You can just imagine him or her, using the boiling oil from their fingertips to deep-fry garbanzo beans then spitting tahini from his or her mouth. OK, sorry, went too far there. Suffice it to say this is the great, reasonably priced middle-eastern food. Love the falafels. Perfectly cooked. Only lightly spicy. Tasty! The pita version is just $ 6, the wrap $ 7 and the huge plate is $ 9. My friend got the chicken shish kabob which seemed more like schwarma. He thought it was a little overcooked and bland but I thought it was good, so what does he know? The place is a small little hole in the wall, low ceiling, next to the newsstand, but it’s totally authentic and charming in its own way. You can eat inside, in the small dining room, or outside in the plastic tented area with heat lamps in the winter. Lots of takeout. Even delivery. Yum

This is my favorite place to grab a quick bite when I’m in sherman oaks. Their chicken is so tasty(both shwarma and shnitzel), and their salads are awesome too. love this place.

Pros: + Tasty Gyro and Shawarma Wrap + Cool staff Cons: — Small spot, not ideal for big groups during lunch rush hours. Had the gyro and the shawarma wrap. The shawarma is basically breaded chicken and it goes great in a wrap although my co workers prefer the plate because they say you get more meat that way. Both were pretty tasty! Have been here a few times and the meat is consistently good. Parking isn’t too bad. They don’t have a parking lot, but we never had problems finding street parking nearby. I also liked the grape leaves there.
