I have just two words to describe why I love Salon True: Abdon Vargas. Abdon has been my hair stylist, confidante, and friend for many years. I have always been happy with the many hair styles I’ve asked Abdon to create, even when I really never had any idea what I wanted. He can interpret my feeble ideas of what I want and consistently deliver a style I love. When I first met him, his expertise was as obvious to me as it is to this day, not just because of his natural talent, but because he’s continued to adapt and evolve in his profession by furthering his own training as well as teaching new stylists.
Not only is he a creative and seasoned pro, he is a warm and caring person, always treating me with respect, humor, and graciousness. If I could have dreamed up my own personal hair stylist, Abdon would be that guy.

Ive been getting my eyebrows done by Nicole Burg for over a decade now! She is a eyebrow and make up expert!!! She always makes me feel my most beautiful!!! I highly recommend her! She is such a talented artist!!! BRAVO NICOLE! YOU ARE THE BEST!!!

New to LA and was looking for a salon in Sherman Oaks. Tru Salon had great reviews and the styling products I love (Kerastase).
I’ve now visited twice and had my hair done with Ever and he is AWESOME! He is great at cuts and color. He listens to what I want/​need, makes thoughtful suggestions and is patient and friendly.
I’m also impressed with the price… Not sky high like other upscale salons, very reasonable!

I went to Salon True to get a trim. I saw Heather. My haircut looked fine from the front, but from the back it was awful! I was never shown with a mirror what my hair looked like from the back. (pretty unusual, I think) So I paid and left thinking it looked fine. A couple days later I went to get my hair dyed at Butterfly Lost Salon and the stylist was shocked at my cut and asked me if I did it myself. She showed me the back of my hair. It was very uneven and the layers were all over the place. There was a gap cut in the middle of my hair too? I had to get my hair re-​cut to fix it. I had to make my hair shorter than I originally wanted it. I’ll attach pictures. That was $ 75 +tip out with window. Service was not too friendly either. She kept making faces as she combed through my hair. Not exactly a comfortable salon experience. I was going to use this as my salon for balayage, but went to another salon instead. First and last time here.

E. V. E. R. I’ve been going to OC to get my hair done and it’s just too far of a hike (I live in the valley) so I was in dire need of a new stylist. 4 miles away from home I found True Salon. Made a consultation appointment with the owner, Eli. To whom he referred me to the color specialist Mr. Ever Flores «) Got me in the next day and I am super happy with the results. We achieved the goal of getting me light and I love it! Already got many compliments and made another appointment. I’ll be going to him for EVER!

I came into the salon today with the intention of getting my usual touch up highlights and a light trim. I hadn’t been in any salon since March and my regrowth was nearly 6 or 7 inches. Needless to say I was long over due for an appointment. I was encouraged to see Ever Flores and I gotta say, I am so pleased I did! Ever recommended I try balyage on my hair since with my natural color and current highlights, the effect would give me the lighter blonde look I was going for, but nonetheless keep my hair looking natural in appearance. I’d seen videos of balyage being performed on women with hair similar to mine, and I thought «why not?» I don’t know that I’ve ever been as happy about my hair post salon visit as I was today! It’s absolutely gorgeous! Not only does my hair look perhaps the best it’s ever looked, but my overall experience in the salon was excellent as well.
I was kindly greeted upon arrival and offered several beverage options through out my stay. The salon gives it’s clients the ability to change into a robe during their appointment so that any chance of product landing on/​staining a garment is none existent. For me personally, I sometimes find it awkward to have consistent conversation with my stylist, even if I’ve met with them before, but I had excellent and carefree chatter with Ever for my entire visit. I could sense he was really passionate about his practice and he was just as excited, if not more excited than I was, about the outcome of my hair! As if my experience wasn’t pleasant enough, Ever also made me feel good about my hair even pre-​color and cut. Sometimes, when meeting a stylist for an appointment, I feel as if they look down on me for the current state of my hair and often times insist on styling it in a way I’m not comfortable with. Ever made sure I got exactly what I, the client, wanted.
If you’re in the Los Angeles area and looking for a salon that provides not only fabulous hair care and styling, but also a «put your feet up and stay a while» experience, then please make an appointment with Salon True! And if you’re able to, I highly recommend you see Ever and tell him Lauren sent you!

I had the pleasure of meeting Abdon at my friends wedding last year and I routinely drive sometimes an hour out of my way just to get an appointment with him. You won’t be disappointed.
Trust me, if he can make my dumb thinning hair look good he can do wonders for you. Worth every penny.

Okay where do I begin… Yesterday, I turned 30. As a birthday gift, a life changing decision, a leap of faith, I decided to TRUST a complete stranger (to me) for the first time with one of my most precious possessions; my hair!!! ALEX, was an angel sent from HEAVEN! I HAD long curly hair and I’ve never cut my hair this short in the past, EVER! I loved her professionalism and her COMPLETE honesty! She was kind and caring, which helped with how nervous I was! I was crying and shaking when I arrived lol
When it was time to pay, I was SHOCKED how reasonably priced my hair cut and do were! Freaking GREAT!!!
DEFINITELY returning to see Alex and to this salon in general! Love love love it!!! Thank you Salon True!

I’m not the average customer walking into Salon True. I happened to know the staff from a photoshoot they hired me on for their salon. BUT while hiring me to shoot for their posters and front desk TV, I fell in love.
Eli, the owner, was the one who has done my hair twice now. He is very talented and does everything you ask for plus more. I normally get highlights but he introduced me to the famous balayage and I trusted him. Not only that, but since I model I am always needing to look my best. I had very long hair that was fine, and he just mentioned my hair would be much fuller and healthier if I trimmed about 4 – 5 inches off the ends. The first time, I said noo way! I love my hair and refuse to cut it. The second time, I was considering it and just closed my eyes.
Every girl knows the struggle of getting a trim and your stylist chops off all your hair… but I will genuinely say when Eli trimmed my hair, he made it look far better and only did what needed to be done. He kept my hair long and layered it since it is thin to give it some volume. Nobody even noticed I cut 4 inches off because he made it look so good!
Since I have worked with this team in and outside of their workplace, I can tell you they are incredible. Every single one of them is passionate about what they do and want nothing more than to make you feel beautiful walking out of their salon. They encourage each other and learn from each other non stop!
I came in once to be their model for a hair styling session from Avik. He is seriously so talented. They did complex braids, updos, and elaborate styles that are perfect for homecoming, red carpet events, weddings or just a photoshoot!
This salon possesses nothing less than perfection and I love them all. I highly recommend trying them out.

Svetlana… best hair colorist I’ve ever had do my hair, and I’ve been through many. This girl knows her stuff! That. Is. All.

I came across this salon through Unilocal while looking for ombré hair magicians, the reviews were pretty great and I now see why. The staff is amazing, so friendly and courteous. I made an appt with Ever Flores and I truly can’t say enough great things about him. I showed him a few images of the style I desired and my hair concerns and he paid mind to every detail and offered really great and knowledgeable suggestions. I’m obsessed with the end result.
This place is a gem and worth every penny.
