I went here the other night for the first time. I didn’t know there was such a delightful, authentically British pub in town. I love the UK décor and there’s a pretty decent amount of seating, though it was a Wednesday night, so weekends might be more crowded. The food is exciting in that they have all the varieties you’d find in the British isles. I got the Scotch pie and love the gravy that goes with it! Excellent selection of beers and whiskeys, and super sweet wait staff. I plan on returning.

My family came here for the first time last night, and we enjoyed ourselves. Dad ordered a Newcastle(he liked it), and someone(perhaps the owner?) gave him a sample to make sure he’d like it before paying for an entire glass. We ordered fish & chips, Sheppard’s pie, chicken curry pie, and scotch pie. All of these were really enjoyable, but the fish & chips and chicken curry pie stood out the most. I tried their(non-alcoholic) Ribena with sparkling water, and it was a perfect mixture of sweet and tart. Service was wonderful, food and drinks were good, atmosphere was nice. I would come back again.

I stumbled across this place last week on my way back to US101 after a meeting, so I came back into town today to try this place. They serve the English Breakfast EVERYDAY from 11am to 2 pm! A couple of places over on Sunset have only limited hours and only serve breakfast on weekends … But this place in the Valley came through with some DELICIOUS food … Some of the best Bangers sausages I’ve had in a long time !!

Best beer battered fish & chips around. Thick piece of flaky cod and not greasy whatsoever! I order the onion rings instead of the potatoes. YUM!

A great casual place to just chill with a pâté or the family — really pleased they’ve got some vegan options on the menu too — their black bean burger is pretty good.

Me and my friends stumbled upon this place one time and we keep coming back! What a sweet find. It’s great because they have happy hour til midnight every night $ 3 wells !! Also the bar is not obnoxiously loud and overly crowded. Me and my friends like to come here when we want to drink and actually be able to talk to each other(unlike many other bars in the area that are too crowded and loud). I think one time I bought 10 drinks and spent under $ 30. Plus it really does have a pub vibe that I love.

Me and my bf went in here last Sunday for the roast dinner and it was delicious! He’s from London, and now absolutely loves this place because of its authenticity. He got the roast dinner, and I got some other appetizers, and then we kind of shared everything. The sausage rolls were really good. The roast dinner wasn’t cheap but came with a ton of food(roast beef, veggies, yorkshire pudding, potatoes, soup or salad). And the fish tacos were… not great, but what did I expect from a British pub? They also have a late night happy hour, which was pretty good. They had a variety of appetizers and drinks on it, so we stayed for another round because of that. They also had a variety of ciders, which I appreciate! The ambiance here is kind of funny with the bright, florescent lighting, but it’s authentic, I guess. I loved the 90’s music playing in the background. They had dart boards and a pool table, and a fancier restaurant seating area, but I prefer the casual pub atmosphere. Our server was friendly and genuine and the manager also came by to see how we were doing. Overall, it’s the most authentic British pub we’ve found in LA so far, if a little pricey. We will definitely be back, my bf’s already suggested it again about 10 times!

An excellent pub in the middle of the valley. They have all the pub food menu items you can hope for. The battered fish and chips was done perfectly every time I’ve been here. If you’re looking for fish ‘n’ chips or bangers and mash this place will fix you up in no time.

Awesome fish and chips! The batter is light and crispy so it’s not a stomach grease bomb,. My English husband says it’s his favorite in the States — head and shoulders above the Kings Head. And I agree. Overall, the pub could be a bit more pub-like and less restaurant-like but since there aren’t too many English pubs in the Valley, one cannot be too picky. We have always received great service when we’ve gone so that’s a plus.

What a delightful place. The two Owners are wonderful, helpful, friendly. The staff is solicitous, on the mark. and the food. terrific. The fish and chips, superbly cooked, Toad in Whole. I love Yorkshire Pudding so this is top of my list, several soups, and traditional British Dishes: Shephard’s Pie Bangers and Mash. all wonderfully prepared. If you need a bit of London… Check these guys out

Awesome place! I brought my dad here and he loved it. Truly one of the best fish and chips I’ve had since London. Even the tartar sauce was awesome and I hate tartar sauce. This place is def a gem in the valley! Awesome hands down awesome place.

I was starving and craving some Irish pub food on St. Patrick’s Day, but of course there was a line out the door at Ireland’s 32. So next best thing? Robin Hood British Pub across the street… or so I thought. They were pretty busy as well and the host couldn’t give me an estimated wait time for some reason. I still decided to take a chance and stay because the ambiance at the bar seemed fun and friendly, but mostly because I was tired of walking around in my heels. We were able to get seated quickly but in a separate dining area, away from all the action. First of all, for it being a «pub» their beer menu was really teeny tiny. Secondly, the fish and chips had some flaws. Although the fish was cooked perfectly, flaky, and fresh, there was too much crumbly batter surrounding it and hardly any flavor in the fish or batter. Lastly, the service was very disinterested. The waitress rarely looked me in the eye and I did not feel welcomed :’(Did I have something in my teeth? 2 stars are for the Steak and Mushroom Pie that my friend had which was actually pretty yummy, but I’d rather go all the way to Ye Olde King’s Head in Santa Monica next time and avoid the disappointment.

Went on a Friday night for a networking event held in the bar area. The bar was packed and not much of a chance to do any real networking. I ordered a drink and I never got it but that was okay. I had a Scotch Egg in London once and thought I would try one here. I know we were in a bar but the egg came out cold and it tasted so differently than the one I had before. This one tasted like they had pickles in it… seemed odd. I think if you like to hang out and drink this is probably a great spot. Lots of regulars and they have various events during the week.

We have been customers of this hidden gem for years. If you love fish and chips then please try it! One piece is perfect unless you have a huge appetite. The Shepards Pie is always a win too and if you love sports then their bar is FUN. You can eat, drink, play darts and watch sports on one of their numerous flat screen t. v’s. It is great for groups, the dining room feels a little old fashioned and in need of an update but it kind of lends to what you would see if you have ever traveled to the U.K. The staff is always on their game too.

This place is very impressive during happy hour which spans 4 – 7 pm and 10 – 12 am. Yes, they have two happy hours, one in which is during prime time hours. If you’ve never tried British food, basically, it’s a lot of deep fried and comfort food which is great every once in awhile or on the weekend. This pub has a dive bar atmosphere, and most of the patrons are older, but by night it diversifies. I ordered this British deep fried sausage with eggs, and this was the first time I’ve eaten something like this and it’s fantastic. The 3.50 Stella or any other happy hour beer is mandatory, and save room for dessert because hey have an array of British sweets!

The food is not bad and service is very friendly. Their afternoon tea was not worth anywhere near 15.95. Their tea was ok, we tried their egg sandwich and the Brantson pickle sandwich. The egg wasn’t bad but the Branston was too strong and sweet, it was served with what looked and tasted like Kraft Singles American cheese. The scone they served was tasty but we wished it was warmed up. Do try their fish and chips and other menu items but don’t do the tea, that was a mistake we won’t repeat. At least we can say we tried Branston pickles!

It’s so chill here its unbelievable. People who you never met chat it up, have fun and enjoy now. It’s a shame that it sometimes takes social lubrication to make us connected. Sure, I’d like to buy the world a Coke and live in perfect harmony. but a pint of Guinness(or 2) and 5 songs on a jukebox will make me a whole lot happier. Do you want to taste my medication? Or are you waiting for the right situation?

My brother is an anglophile so when he and his fiancé took me here one Sunday, I knew I was in for a treat. Absolutely adorable joint with authentic British fare and staff. Loved the figgy pudding, shepards pie, the Scottish egg, and tea served in a beautiful flowered tea pot. I want to try the meat pies next(and perhaps sing a little diddy from Sweeney Todd). Would love to come back so it’s a good thing that my brother-in-law-to-be lives so close!

The British in recent historical times had been good at running an empire where the sun never sets, but for some reason, possibly due to climate or unfortunate invasions by northern invaders, who themselves knew only rudimentary elements of cooking & thus could not pass on a sophisticated culinary legacy to the culinarily inept Brits. You would think that the Norman French invasion of Britain in 1066(Remember William the Conqueror?) would infuse some finer points of cuisine, but this was too early in the history of France since the French themselves were almost as crude in the development of cuisine as the Brits whom they conquered. The French would have to wait almost 500 years until the arrival of Caterina de Medici from Toscano, Italy, who married King Henri II of France & brought in her retinue of kitchen workers who advanced the art of the French kitchen during the Renaissance. In present day Britain, the art of the cuisine has slowly advanced under the influence of especially French, Italian, & possibly Indian cooking, but pub food generally still is not affected by the beneficial influence of more advanced culinary cultures. This may not be such a bad thing since pub food still serves the traditional, conservative foods that have been served for possibly centuries as a showcase for the true native roots of a typical British meal, and not bastardized by Southern European Continental influences. British pub food is not something I would eat everyday due to its high fat, high carbohydrate, lower fresh vegetable content, and usually cooked to death, but more importantly it has nostalgic value of the remembrances of trips to London, Cambridge, Brighton, Stratford on Avon, & beyond. Stepping into Robin Hood British Pub is a treat as you enter a small, unobtrusive brown lacquered wooden door to the left of the building. Opening it transports you about 6,000 miles east to some unpretentious bar somewhere in Britannia. This pub is comfy with dark wood accents, tons of beer pulls lining the long bar that has a back wall full of sparkling glasses & liquors. Singles, families, even kids are here to give this pub a warm welcoming flair. One waitress seemed to speak with a Gaelic accented English while another spoke with what may have been a more southern English regionalism to clinch the«real deal» atmosphere. There is also a large more«formal» diningroom on the west side of the building for larger groups. I ordered the Scotch Egg which is a hard boiled egg surrounded by nicely herbed meatloaf or sausage-like ground meat. The portion is really big so that this can be a full meal for light eaters. The bar-t offered to give it to me cold or hot. I chose cold since I wanted to taste it 2 ways. I found out that cold makes the ground meat mixture rather hard & stiff from the fat that has solidified. Warming up the Scotch Egg softens the ground meat as well as releasing more herbal aromatic seasoning locked up when cold. Unfortunately, it was over zapped so that some of the meat got hard, chewy. leathery & dry. Let the waitress know that you want it zapped about 30 seconds less than the usual length of time. I found the Scotch Egg to be a good deal at $ 4.50 since it is so filling and the flavor beats the scrawny, dried out, tasteless Scotch Egg I ate at the now closed«Cat & Fiddle» in Hollywood. I asked the waitress what beer would pair well with the Scotch Egg. With no hesitation it was the New Castle Brown Ale which was thirst quenching, light in body for an ale, refreshing, little bitterness with a touch of toasty sweet smoothness that bordered on gracefulness. I believe the strength of this pub lies in its libations although the food here seems better than what is found in other British oriented pubs serving food here in So Cal which can be truly horrible. If I were only critiquing for the drinks & atmosphere, Robin Hood earns 4 Unilocal stars. If for the food, then 3 Unilocal stars. So I err on the side of giving 4– Unilocal stars. Great place to pop in for a drink & savour a bit of old England, Wales, Ulster & Scotland.

TRIVIAONTUESDAYS! This was definitely an adorable find. English style pub with happy hour from 4pm-7pm. We went specifically for Trivia, which started at 7pm and went for about 2 hours. I ordered the curly fries and the basket was huge — definitely worth sharing with a friend. Can’t wait to come back!
