Ethnic Hair by Esther

For the past 10 – 15 years, I have been driving from Van Nuys to LA & Hawthorne to get my hair done. Last week, I started going through Unilocal to find a hairstylist here in the Valley. I came across one shop and called. I heard all the riff raft in the background and thought, nah I’ll pass. THEN, I called Esther! She listened to my rant about how I’ve been driving so far for so long and how over it I was. After my rant, I scheduled my appointment. It was raining pretty bad the day of, but I didn’t want Esther to think I was a flake by canceling, since I was a new client and all, so I was going. Esther called me and suggested rescheduling due to the rain and that was a plus in my book. Most people would have let me come just to get the money. I made it to Esther last night. Esther and I talked like we have known each other forever and my hair looks and feels great! Esther cut my ends like they have never been cut before! She told me the products she was using in my hair, showed me how to curl my hair to get the same look, and made me feel like a million bucks when I walked out. I’ve only had 2 hairstylists in my entire life, I have to admit I was a bit nervous, but I have now canceled all of my future appointments in Hawthorne and will be coming back to Esther! There is plenty of metered parking and she’s like 2 doors down from Poquito Mas. I think I’m in heaven! A great stylist right next door to some good food! I SCORED! Big time! Thank you Esther!!!

Esther has been doing my hair for almost two years now, and recently did a great job with my daughter’s hair. My favorite thing about Esther is she really cares about hair health. My hair was super dry after I had a baby and she helped get it healthy and long! I usually just get press/​flat-​iron and curls, but she also does cuts, complicated colors and weaves. She also uses really good products like Moroccan oil brands. The shop she works out of Flux is very easy going, and everyone is friendly and Esther is fun to talk to during my appointments! Lots of street parking (it’s right by Poquito Mas on Ventura in Sherman Oaks).

I’ve been in LA for about a year and still haven’t found anyone who did my hair the way I liked or was use to until now! She’s great at what she does and knows what she’s doing. She knows what it takes to care for relaxed hair. She’s also very personable and professional… I think I finally found a regular stylist!
