5 years since my previous review and nothing has changed with Yak’s. The chicken is fatty or too tough. The attitude of the woman I always see at the front is not very friendly and she’s often on her phone. My previous notes still apply. I’ve docked a point on my review as nothing has improved in 5 years. Don’t bother with the chicken breast teriyaki either; it’s as fatty and tough as the normal teriyaki. I swear this place is only alive because it’s slightly cheaper than other nearby options, and it’s one of the few lunch options that isn’t Thai food. + Close to my work ~ Average Teriyaki and yakisoba — Expect more flavor for the price — Bland salad dressing

I’ve been here twice. Once with friends in high school and later with friends in college. Those two times our food has been great and would certainly return again soon when I’m in the Fremont area. If you live around here I would certainly recommend it if you’re craving some teriyaki.

This place is the perfect solution to a teriyaki craving. The food is quick, tastes good, and is fresh. Its not all greasy like most places. Its getting 4 not 5 stars because the service and woman working there is grouchy and is never very pleasant. I always ask for brown rice and she told me I didn’t, when it came w white rice. Especially when I did… Other then the woman who works there I love Yaks and will return because the food is so good! And its close to my house.

Really good, and it’s amazing when you consider the value for the money. Order was made quick too. You work in Fremont and want some lunch, this is your joint.

All of my friends enjoy dining here because the teriyaki is delicious. I’ve been told to come here for years but never got the chance to, until recently. I ordered the Salmon teriyaki and it was actually good, but I like this order from somewhere else more. Maybe the chicken teriyaki was better than other shops.(Must try again) The lady who took my order never smiled. She wasn’t friendly at all, and I was told by my friends that dine here often that she never smiled at customers for years.

Yak’s serves good terriyaki, but they probably don’t have too much better terryaki than your immigrant co-worker at a neighboring cubicle. They are priced at around $ 10 per meal and there are a couple tables. It’s at the edge of a neighborhood in Fremont. I had the pork terryaki and it came fairly quickly. The flavor of the terryaki was good, but it wasn’t too distinguishable in a city almost drenched in terryaki and the corresponding sauce. The salad didn’t have much dressing and the rice was minimal. Yak’s isn’t horrific but they are below the bar that other restaurants have set. You can go somewhere else and get lots more bang for your buck while maintaining the same flavor. Yak’s is great if you are in a rush, but Fremont has more places, by that, even more terryaki places.

Yaks has the exact type of food I want when I crave teriyaki. They really couldn’t improve on anything. The service is very fast, the gyoza is crispy, the pork is tender, and the teriyaki sauce is great.

My mum & I used to drive here regularly, to the center of the center of the universe, from Ballard just to eat here. We would get rice bowls, with bbq pork on top, & an orange slice on top of that. It’s one of my yummiest memories. These days, it’s still good, although I’m not sure they still do the styrofoam bowls. Because now, my bf & I like to eat inhouse & watch the people outside pass by. It’s as yummy now as it was then though. Am glad this place endures. :)

Went here for a quick lunch. Saw some good reviews and I agree with them! Food was pretty good! I got the tofu and asparagus combo, with a side of chicken, and was not disappointed. The asparagus specifically was really tasty, and I ended up wishing I got a full plate of that instead. Service was fast, but not too friendly. I got a slight impression that i was bothering them by being a customer. Will come back for the food though.

Just wanted quick take-out today as close to the office as possible and Yak’s fit the bill. I was pleased to see that have a good handful of vegetarian options. Also, they offer the option for brown rice for an extra $.50. I went with the Spicy Tofu and Garlic Asparagus. It was a pretty simple dish: steamed tofu(although the picture on the menu showed fried tofu) lightly stir-fried in chili garlic sauce and a side of asparagus and sauteed garlic slices in a little teriyaki sauce. Good portion sized but not crazy creative cuisine. A-ok for under $ 10. Next time I think I’ll go with the Tofu Mixed Veggies though.

Solid teriyaki place. My favorite is the spicy chicken with gyoza. This place does get busy during lunchtime so if you are in a rush, call in your order in advance to save some time :)

Just about as average of a teriyaki place as you can get. Nothing bad or spectacular about the food. Nothing great or terrible about the service.

Their chicken teriyaki gets drier and drier and not enough teriyaki sauce when you order Chicken Teriyaki bowl to go.

First of all, it should be said that this place is very unassuming. However, dining environment aside Yak’s offers one of the best values in Fremont. Portions are always very big and filling. The chicken teriyaki is very good – the meat is cooked just right(crispy on the outside) and the seasoning is generally good(sometimes a little too heavy, but never too light). I generally spend less than $ 10 and always come out feeling satisfied and with leftovers. I definitely recommend this place to college students looking for somewhere cheap and good, especially if a posh-looking restaurant isn’t too important.

They’re ok. Handy location and free tea, but that’s about it. The gyoza is oily and not crispy(ie. it’s soggy). The miso soup is totally ok– hard to mess up. They have a lot more seating than meets the eye from the street so I could happily slink to the back and eat my comfort food alone like the hermit that I am. I wouldn’t say it’s good for groups though. Any group bigger than 5 wont be able to fit at the same table here, and 5 is pushing it. The wait staff is nice and it’s REALLY cheap. I’ll be back if I’m walking by hangry and in need of quick, cheap carbs to keep me going.

The prices are fantastic and I absolutely adore their wonton soup! I have called ahead to order it for pickup several times and it’s always ready and hot when I get there. The humbow looks tasty and I’ll try one next time I visit, for sure.

Best humbow’s in Seattle! They’re service is a little iffy, only because they don’t speak english very well and always rush you off the phone when you call in an order. The food has always been up to standard take out teriyaki though. My food is always ready in ten minutes or less.

I really like eating at Yak’s. There aren’t too many cheap eats in Fremont, and Fremont is so lucky to have Yak’s. The chicken teriyaki portions are very reasonable and tasty. I like all of the combo platters and the Korean specials! :)

I like Yak’s! I don’t usually«crave Yak’s» especially, but whenever I don’t know what to eat and teriyaki sounds good, Yak’s is really convenient for me to get to — it’s in walking distance from my house! The quality of their meats is pretty good. They will usually choose dark meat to cook with, unless you ask for white meat. I ordered Chicken Katsu the other day and it was all dark meat — next time I’ll definitely let them know my preference. They have delicious gyoza – not too oily – and a small salad comes with each order. They give large portions of white rice, but you can also substitute for fried/brown rice(with extra charge, of course). Prices are decent – I paid $ 8.25 for a combo plate – and the location like I said is very convenient for Fremont/Queen Anne people. The customer service isn’t great, as I always seem like a «bother» more than a «customer» when I come here, but the food is worth it! :-)

I’ve been living in Fremont for 2 – 3 years and just walked or drove on by Yaks. I love spicy chicken teriyaki and always was looking for a good place for my teriyaki fix. I can’t believe I have skipped by this place! What a mistake on my part, Yaks is great! If you are in Fremont looking for good food, don’t hesitate to drop in Yaks.
