I have been here three times. Each time I ask for NOAOILI on my po boy. Everytime I get all the way back to work(decent walk) and my sandwich is so slathered in aioli the bun is soaked and the sandwich is unsalvageable. I would go get my money back, but it’s kind of a pain in the ass walk and I have work to do. I will never eat at this food truck again, 3 strikes and you’re out.

My boyfriend took me out for a stunning date at the food truck by Chucks hop shop. I had the shrimp and grits which was warm and delicious. Not the best I’ve ever had(a bit oily) but really tasty if you’re craving some creole!

@ Pioneer Sq. the gumbo was bad, and if they take care of their food like they take care of their children we’re in trouble. A two-year-old walking around in the freezing rain with no coat on, sneezing doesn’t say much about the staff

Tried this place because everyone said it was the best. It was seriously overpriced for mediocre food. Dont believe the hype! Jemil’s Big Easy is way better. I was very disappointed.

it was one of the surprises on our last time back, so it was a surprise when we ran into it. got their beignets and nothing was right from the temperature or texture. if they had old beignets they should have said they weren’t ready, instead we got powdered sugared rocks.

Wow, Just Wow. I was introduced to this spot by my dad a few months after we got back from New Orleans and of course the food was crazy fantastic down there, but having a po boy and the jumbalaya from Matt’s food truck was my «favorite spot in New Orleans.» I really felt like I was back in N.O. again on bourbon street but I had found the secret local hot spot you don’t tell the tourists about. It’s that good. From what I heard Matt is from N.O. and man it shows. I think about this food often honestly. Well done sir!

In one word: «blah.» It’s overpriced. Yes, this is Seattle, but there are plenty of food trucks with similar prices and much higher quality ingredients. Tried the chicken and shrimp po’boy sandwiches. Both lackluster. They were slapped together fast — otherwise I might give only one star. The shrimp was fishy tasting – gross, actually. Might have better luck eating at Subway for a few dollars less. Ouch. Sorry if this came across as rude, that’s just«Where I’m at.»

Snagged some jambalya and cheesy grits at the Beast Mode Challenge in Snoqualmie. SOLEGIT. Probably the best grits I’ve ever had, and I have southern roots and have eaten A LOT of grits. Jambalya is packed with meat and has fantastic flavor. Hit this trunk fo sho!

Matt catered a friend’s housewarming. I write the review here because she’s a fan of the food truck and that’s why she hired him. The dinner was a shrimp boil. Shrimp might give the wrong impression, these were huge, shell on prawns and they were outrageous. When we got there Matt himself was standing over a huge pot adding shrimp, veggies and seasonings in full view. It was an outdoor party so it really helped with the atmosphere. Matts serving style is awesome; he scoops up a portion of everything in a metal bowl and heaps it on your plate and then encourages you to have more. As great as the boil was, the deserts were mind blowing. I’m not a huge pie fan but both the pecan sweet potato pies were fantastic. Not too sweet, with a hint of spice and a perfect, flaky crust. Great dinner!

Had the husband bring home an order of WYAM jambalaya from today’s food truck location in Georgetown. He decided on a muffaletta — sure looked good when I unwrapped it to take a peep. Regarding the WYAM jambalaya — still remains a consistent assessment of OMG goodness! Woke up these sleepy tastebuds, for sure!

The last time I was in the area, my sister took me to try Matt and his awesome beignets. And, they’re awesome. I suggest you try them. They come hot and fresh! If you’ve ever had a Muffuletta, then you know these sandwiches are awesome. Matt’s is on point. If you’ve never had a Muffuletta, then you need to order this sandwich. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve been wanting to go eat at Matt’s for three years, but it’s always closed when I’m able to go. I went there today where the truck was at Starbuck’s in SODO, on my way to the airport. DE-LISH-US. I’m gona hit this place when I return… now that my daughter knows about it. Yummy. I had the Oyster Po’ Boy and some beignets. Taking the beignets with me home to California. Linda

I ordered the jambalaya through Peach and had really high hopes for this… I mean, who DOESN’T love jambalaya for pete’s sake? My co-worker ordered the red beans and rice, I had the jambalaya and we both felt like our dishes were missing something. She said the red beans and rice were too bland and could’ve used some hot sauce to give it a kick. The jambalaya had a good amount of spice, but I would agree with the previous reviewer who said the shrimp tasted like it had been marinating in a garden hose. And the cornbread… what in the heck was that? Whatever that was, it certainly didn’t taste like cornbread. I wanted to love my food enough to give Where Ya At Matt a good review, and I’ll likely try it one more time, but this initial experience was lackluster at best.

I’ve never drove to find a food truck until I tried these guys. The food here is always awesome and speedy. My girlfriend goes absolutely nuts about those powdery sugared beignets… they are like crack to her, she is really addicted to them. They tend to pop up at a lot of the food festivals but they also have a schedule that they post online.

I was a bit under the weather, and I wanted something hot. So I got some jambalaya and some gumbo. The gumbo was kind of bland but it satisfied my craving for something soupy. The jambalaya was pretty good, and it had a good kick to it. I’d definitely give these guys another try and try some of the other stuff on their menu.

Wandered over to the Where Ya At Matt truck while looking for a quick bite on a sunny Wednesday. Parked in the lot next to rock bottom brewery, the truck was easily accessible. Tried the jumbalaya(I think they featured it on food network/cooking channel) and was very happy with it. I got a small for $ 5 which seemed like not a lot of food but once I started eating I realized it was an appropriate amount unless you want to go back to work and get that 2 o’clock food coma/nap feeling we all get. Lots of chucks of chicken, sausage, and there were a few decent sized shrimp in the mix as well. Flavors were bold and the green onions sprinkled on top were a nice fresh finish. All I can say is I’m glad I live in Seattle, because if I lived in the south I’d be huge! Will have to try the beignets on a less windy day.

I have a thing for soul food and I love shrimp and grits. I ordered the shrimp and grits here and an order of beignets. I liked the shrimp and grits for the bold flavors. However, there weren’t a lot of shrimps and the small portion was truly small. So you may need to order another po boy with it to get food. I did appreciate the spices. The beignets were warm and fresh when I got them. I enjoyed them but it does have a lot of confection sugar. So it’s not for the fainthearted. I may go back and try a po boy just to see if I will like the place better. For now, it’s a sold three stars.

Love it! I couldn’t decide between jumbalaya or the gumbo to be my first taste of this creole food so I went with the jambalaya. I also ordered the shrimp and grits. I ordered the two as small sides for $ 5 each. It was a pretty filling meal that I didn’t even finish it! I was pleasantly surprised by the shrimp and grits. It was smooth with a nice level of spice. It was the kind that sort of surprised you at the back of your throat but didn’t overwhelm. I liked the jambalaya and thought it was tasty but I just wanted it to be a little more… juicy? saucier? It had the right taste and the chunks of chicken, sausage, and shrimp were of good size. I ended up mixing the grits into the jambalaya to finish my meal! I’ll be coming back!
