Wonderful bar full of amazing people and great staff! The bartender Heather was very attentive and made us all feel like we were family! Super genuine and adorable! Even if you go for a date this place is awesome! The prices are extremely reasonable especially in West Seattle! An open floor plan with all homemade tables and fixtures, you can literally see The large vats that your beer is being brewed in! I will be frequenting this establishment as it is hands down the best brewery in the whole area! You can tell everyone that works here loves what they do and loves the beer that they serve you really can’t ask for anything better when it comes to a brewery in town!

The beer isn’t good. It’s closed most of time. There are better places right up the street on California Ave.

Hands down the best chili I’ve had since living in Texas. Andrew knows what he’s doing. Go for good beer and food.

I have frequented this bar a few times(some before the re-opening and once since they changed face). The new changes have been what the old bar needed! They now are open with longer hours, espresso bar, beer and cider offerings(Georgetown and their own brew), and have some light food for purchase. The food seems to be contemporary fancy bar fare. A bit over priced, but I haven’t eaten anything so it may be all worth it. They allow you to bring in food! Which is awesome! I was able to eat Buddha Ruska while drinking cider and watching a sounders game. Awesome. The tv situation is a bit unfortunate for a brewery trying to be known as a Sounders spot. One projector screen on the right wall(with MAJORSUNGLARE) and two small tvs behind bar are what you get for your viewing pleasure. The bartenders are nice, but can get a bit overwhelmed with large crowds there. I will definitely visit again and see how it goes!

I wanted to check this place out, so I looked up their website and saw they had happy hour. I showed up just for this and turns out their website is outdated and they no longer have a happy hour. Boool! Pretty good beer selection though if you wanna drop $ 7 – 8 on a beer.

I mean, its ok. I just moved to West Seattle and pass this by every day. It was closed for the first couple of weeks, then seemed to open. So I took a friend there for something to eat and some beers. It seems like they didn’t finish the renovations, the beer list has tape all over it and looks odd in a place that supposedly just got renovated. Whats with the blue electric tape to cover a beer name? It just seems like the remodel isn’t finished looking around the place. The two girls working the bar seemed to be MAYBE21 and were both whispering so low my friend and I could barely understand them. They were speaking like they were in a church, not a bar on a Thursday night. Two people walked out because they waited to be seated, and then when they sat themselves no waitress came up to them… the only small sign written in marker on a piece of paper was on the register and says«order here». They forgot my friends sandwich and when we asked one of the girls if they remembered it she said«oh, I don’t don’t know, I didn’t put the order in» Well… GO figure it out! Don’t make the customer seek out another bartender/waitress/but doesn’t take orders at tables wodnering where their order is after you delivered the other people at the table their food! The food was, Meh. Thats it. Not good, not horrible. Nothing more. Beer was ok selection, but not my taste at the moment, although I know it is changed up often. I don’t get the freezers in the back, they are mostly empty. If they were filled with beer or wine I would get it, but they are 95% empty and it looks horrible. I probably won’t come back again, maybe for a coffee in the morning on the way to work. Can’t mess up a black coffee, right?

Ok, full disclosure — I’ve never been in this place b4 — had to write a review tho — this place opened then closed again then it seemed like it was open once a week, then maybe 2x a week, & at it was never open during peak bar times and this went on and on — i know they renovated — it took a gargantuan amount io time — the place looks like it was pieced together from a scrap metal shop. «West Seattle Brewing» — I If u don’t like my posts stop reading my FB posts then — it’s a free country — in fact I’ll go ahead and block u so u don’t have to ready shit anymore wonder if Mr. Originality came up with that one. I think it might finally be open on a more normal basis now but I’ll never enter this place. Professionals don’t run a business this way… get a grip.

The banner at the top of the page for this place on Unilocal says this place is closed. The last review in June says it is open. I just drove past recently and it is definitely open. How about removing the banner that says it is closed already. Or does Unilocal have some interest in not removing it?

Lack of communication is a major issue. No info on the website/facebook/twitter/google+/instagram, etc. Why post social media info if you don’t use it? I went once last year and the beer was drinkable but nothing memorable or exciting. I’ve tried to go multiple times since but they’re always closed. Bar stools/chairs are stacked on tables… who knows what’s going on? No responses to any of their social media regarding their status and/or what the food menu offers. I was hoping for this to be a cool spot in West Seattle but it’s only been a disappointment.

I heard from a good friend that West Seattle Brewery had re-opened on June 5th, 2015 and it was a lazy Sunday so I dropped by to check it out. They have remodeled and the entire wall facing the street has been replaced by garage doors that opens the place up where you feel like you’re on a patio. They make some sandwiches and I had the ham and swiss on a croissant that came with chips that was really tasty. I paired it with their triple amber and really enjoyed just hanging out at the bar watching the big screen televisions showing some sporting events. I also had their triple IPA and it was really good too. I’ll definitely be coming back here soon as its really laid back, beer is good and they have some tasty sandwiches.

After passing by WSBC many times I finally gave them a try. I wish I could give them greater than 3 stars but that’s the impression the pub left on me. Firstly the place is a little rough. I’m not huge on ambiance. But I’m saying rough in terms of things like the heat was set too low and the seating seems too low buck. It really sticks out. But the bar counter is cool. However starring into the vast emptiness of the cooler gives it a real mom & pop vibe. No music playing gives it a feeling of sterility. Couldn’t find any beers that we liked. The styles were on our list of favorites but they all just seemed to miss the mark. No IPA on tap is a mortal sin in Seattle. On a positive note, they were pouring Imperial Porters and Triples in 12oz pint glasses at $ 5 instead of scooners which is a treat given the high Gravity. This place may need a woman’s touch and the addition of a large selection of guest bottled beers to keep it interesting. Better coordinated food service from nearby restaurants might help. Hope it survives. Will certainly give it another shot.

It’s an «ok» little place off the bridge, great location, my only whines are for the crappy tables/chairs, and the place looked and smelled dirty when I was there– I’ll probably give them another shot– the beer was ok, the food truck outside was really great though

The beer is quite good, although some of it tastes young. The atmosphere is casual. Service at the bar was friendly and helpful. They don’t serve food, but you can bring in your own. A barbecue place down the street has a stand out front and you can buy brats and stuff. I’m vegetarian, so not much for me. But I love the open clean space and that we could taste 9 beers for $ 12. I hope they keep this up!

Place has great beer and the people that work here have always been good natured and knowledgeable about the brews they sell. Not to mention their food truck rotation outside each week is in point. El Animal Cuban sandwiches and an IPA? Yes please!

West Seattle Brewing was a place that held great promise for us but it seemed to fall short. I have no complaints as to how the place was set up or anything like that. The bartenders were friendly, knowledgeable and the atmosphere cool. As another Unilocaler pointed out she mentioned that she felt the beer tasted flat, having little carbonation to it. That is kind of what we ran into here as well. I got a wheat beer and Steve got a pale ale and we both noticed it. Now to my knowledge this brewery was not a place that specializes in cask beers where it is intended to not have much carbonation. Maybe there are other types of beer that have less carbonation too. I don’t know. Besides that being pointed out the actual flavor of the beers were not bad at all and in that sense they did taste good.

I’m not quite sure if the folks leaving a review about the great beer have ventured outside of crappy domestic suds, but it was highly overrated in these postings. The beer is not only flat, they lack all complexity of a craft beer. The bitter is the same on every style, IPAs are lacking any hop flavor or even a note of hop, and they all seem to be watered down tasting as well. Let’s not exclude the fact they bought their merchandise at value village and had it branded, trying to pawn off $ 1 used wares at $ 15 or so a pop. Not the best branding direction. All and all, I’ll be surprised if this brewery makes it through the year. I commend all the people out there opening craft breweries, but it takes more than a few bucks and a space to make a killer, memorable, and flavorful beer. On a positive note, the space has a ton of potential and the bathroom is really well done.

I’m really a 4.5, on the fence for perfect(after writing the review I updated the star count). We accidentally found this hidden gem after trying to eat at Buddha Ruska(it was packed!). After placing a to go order with a 30 minute wait we opted to head across the street to try out a beer. The ambiance is enjoyable inside — plenty of seating with groups sharing a beer and playing games. It took a moment to get served, but once we were our bartender offered some great suggestions and tasting. I went for the Tripel, which was amazing! So good in fact, I went back for a few more! We ended up playing a game on our phone(Heads Up) which caught the attention of other patrons and turned into a fun group game. Apologize to others who heard us screaming and laughing! :) It became quite contagious as other tables joined in. The family style environment was a lot of fun, which warrants the high star rating. In fact, we had so much fun we picked up dinner and ignored it for a few hours(although you can bring food in to eat). Hands down West Seattle Brewing Co led to the best evening of my deployed other half’s visit to Seattle. Why 4.5 stars then? –No food(very friendly about bringing in outside food) –Ran out of the Tripel :(Although in the end this might have been a good thing, at 8.0% another one would have resulted in a hangover! –Service can get a little slow, but on the plus side it’s really because they focus on each customer to make sure you’re happy. In fact, the bartender was very concerned about our ability to get home, which was sweet(we weren’t obnoxiously drunk, he just asked a few times if we lived close or were taking the bus home). –Wouldn’t be as fun if they get too packed, the small town crowd makes the ambiance amazing. Hmmm…I may need to give them 5 stars after all.
