Love this little spot! The gals at the counter were so friendly and genuinely happy to let us try some ice cream flavors before deciding. They have a wonderful little seating area in the back. Nice selection of coffee drinks, pastries, and Snoqualmie ice creams. We’ll be back, for sure!

Walter’s is my favorite coffee shop in all of Seattle. It’s become such an important part of my life, my Fiancé and I are having our engagement pictures taken here!

Very cute neighborhood business. It’s fun to have a beer there and I like to watch the adorable children coming in for some ice cream(not that it’s just them I’m planning to get some ice cream myself soon).

Love this place. My family and I came in for a visit after wandering around Ballard. Not expecting Snoqualmie Ice Cream! The best stuff on Earth. Not badly priced at all considering it is a very small business. $ 6 for a milkshake and $ 3.50 for a kiddos scoop. Clean café with lovely scoopers/baristas. Glad to support this kind of business in Ballard, I hope they make it. Word on the street is beer soon?

I love this place a lot. The ice cream there is probably the best. They are a bit pricy though.

I like this place. Not overly expensive, always had really friendly service and decent coffee. Nice little independent store in a great neighborhood.

I love Scoops. In the winter, it’s a cozy neighborhood spot where you can enjoy great coffee next to the fireplace. In the summer, it completes that summer feeling of sunshine and ice cream with families and friends crowding in for delicious Snoqualmie treats. The baristas always know me and my family, always know what we like. We’re new to the neighborhood, but it feels like one of the best little community spots ever, a great place to get to know our neighbors. Only con is that they don’t make drip coffee, but the Americano a is pretty great alternative.

Great local coffee shop and ice cream parlor in the middle of our neighborhood. The coffee is the best I’ve had in Seattle and the ice cream is amazing. Weekend(and weekday) morning coffee at the scoop is an institution in these parts. Love to have it near by!

The best coffee and ice cream served up by the friendliest folks in the neighborhood.

Here’s the scoop on the scoop, it’s darling. Have never visited but a friend was having an art show here(super adorable for this 60-something year old’s first show) so we stopped by. The place is tiny but service is great and they make excellent coffee. We weren’t in the market for ice cream but we will definitely try it next time. Happy to discover this neighborhood gem!

Really great Ice Cream and coffee. What makes this place even better is the community/family feeling of this small neighborhood gathering place. The only down side is that it’s a bit small, but there’s seatting outside as well.

Omg, so expensive. On the plus side, the servings are large and the ice cream is scrumptious. I got something with«mud» in the name that was a really rich chocolate and had tastes of the blackberry and salted caramel, both of which were also really tasty.

My bf and I biked here on a Sunday afternoon and each enjoyed our cones. It’s a great little spot in a cute family neighborhood. PROS: 1. Friendly service 2. Good location 3. Outdoor seating 4. They also sell Top Pot donuts and other pastries 5. Decent flavors CONS: 1. A bit overpriced. $ 8.50 for two single scoops. Prices could be lower. 2. Awkward location of ice cream. The freezers are high up and behind the bar, so if people are seated at the bar, you can’t see a darn thing. I had to wait for a kid to get up and hop on a bar stool in order to peek into the freezer and see what the flavors were.

Been going to Walter’s for a dozen years now. Got kids now and they enjoy going to Walter’s as well. The coffee is extremely good. The«Top Pot» doughnuts are so yummy. The Snoqualmie Ice cream is very delicious. I’ve noticed the same faces in the shop. I think that to me is a good sign of a great place to get good eats and coffee. The young staff has always been friendly and also the«middle aged woman» that others have noted here on Unilocal

I haven’t encountered the Walter which might explain my high review. We go there with our daughter every week and the woman behind the counter is always charming. The ice cream is good though you can get the same stuff at the grocery store but it’s just not the same. I do dock them one star for not taking debit cards. I realize interchange fees are exorbitant but there are ways around that these days and even then it’s probably worth it to suck up the fees in exchange for more business. I know that half the time we’d like to go there we end up not going because we don’t have any cash on hand and the nearest ATM is too far away.

Well the place seems to be filled w/local old men… don’t expect amazing service, but adequate. They do serve Top Pot doughnuts… help’d with the star! Coffee was good, and they open’d early good to know!

Stopped by in the midst of OMGZHEATWAVEOFTHEMILLENNIUM for some ice cream. I left extremely satisfied and will absolutely be patronizing this establishment in the future. Plus: Snoqualmie Ice Cream! The best! Lots of flavors Friendly helpful staff(middle aged woman) «Regulars» hanging out(in no A/C…it must be a friendly joint) NOPLASTIC. Only cash/check. Won’t overdraw my account here! Minus: All the way over in that part of Ballard? Ugh. I’m so lazy. NOPLASTIC. Only cash/check. Recommend: Salted Caramel. Seriously. Sooooo good.

I love this place– it brings ‘neighborhood’ to the neighborhood. Great ice cream, good folks. It’s interesting to read people getting their feathers a ruffled by Walter and the staff. Hey, passive-aggressive Seattleites:(yeah, you know you are) Walter kicks it from Beantown– he doesn’t want your kid climbing on the counter, and he’s going to tell your kids that. I have always had good service and I’ll keep bringin’ my own chilluns to this place.

Terrible service from the same young woman twice in a row. Several weeks apart. The first time the gal didn’t even acknowledge our existence after us standing there(with no one waiting, I might add) for a few minutes. And she was right in front of us. Never cracked a smile or issued a word out of her mouth. So we left. Finally got some ice cream on the 2nd visit, but there were 2 folks working, and the rude one was there. Same terrible service, but the other gal(the brunette) was nice and friendly. So while the ice cream is good(but shakes are VERY expensive), and gets a star, the service is crap. So no more stars for this place, and we will not ever be back. It’s just not worth it. I’ll buy the stuff somewhere else.
