Fun vibe, a little pricey, open late, great pizza.

Hands down some of the best pizza in Seattle, the service was quick and Chris the bar tender is absolutely awesome! The pizza itself is crazy good, we had the Dante with fresh Prosciutto and Arugula that was sooo good and the Salsiccia that we added mushrooms to and it was worth every penny! The Chewy and Charred crust is amazing!

The pizza is very thin crust with a dash of cheese and the other toppings. Tasted fine, but felt more like a «take» on pizza than pizza itself. Not something I will ever find myself craving or wanting to eat again. Our table ordered the $ 9 caesar salad thinking it would be enough to share before the pizzas arrived. The salad was RIDICULOUSLY small. Six pieces of lettuce, a sprinkle of cheese, a dash of croutons. Could not taste any dressing. I literally ate one piece of lettuce. TOTALRIPOFF for $ 9. This size of salad should be $ 4 max, especially as their pizzas are fairly reasonably priced. The restaurant itself is pretty cramped and VERY dark with minimal lighting. Our table was lit with one tea-light candle and we had to get out our phones to read the menu.

This was on my list for ages and I was excited to finally go because I am a pizza fiend. It was a little disappointing. I had the happy hour margherita pizza and shared the seafood salad. The pizza crust was so soggy that it couldn’t support the toppings. I kept having to adjust and semi-fold it in! It wasn’t crispy at all. So sad. *sigh* P. S. This restaurant is soooo dark! :(

Via tribunali is a nice, relaxed place to grab pizza with friends right in the heart of the hill. Their patio is really nice to sit on when it’s nice out, and their happy hour selection is small, but solid. My friend and I got all three of the happy hour pizzas and a half carafe of the house white, and were really satisfied with it all. If you love garlic like I do then you’ll love the marinara pizza with its generous layer of delicious sauce and sprinkling of minced garlic. Just pop a breath mint after if you’re worried! Also, I’m not usually a huge fan of pizza crust, but via tribunali’s crust is so nice and soft that I actually quite enjoyed it. Friendly service rounds out a great experience, and I’ll definitely be back to try their other pizzas.

Recently hosted my friends Bachelorette Party at Via Tribunali, and was amazingly impressed by the level of service we received during dinner! Prior to guests arriving, the person taking care of us(forgot her name) walked me through the order they were bringing food out in and our wine preferences. Due to our large group size, we reserved the large back room in the restaurant, which easily accommodated our party. We also had some last minute changes to our guest numbers and the event host was kind enough to change seating accordingly. Which I’m glad she did because the space would of been a little tight had everyone shown up. We started out with a charcuterie board and salad, and then enjoyed a variety of pizza — my favorite had to be the pepperoni, which supposedly is made in house! The charcuterie board was served with what appeared to be naan(indian bread), but was delicious and had a variety of cheeses and meats. The service was quick, and they never left an empty plate on the table, and filled our empty glasses with wine when needed. Overall, this was an excellent first experience at Via Tribunali, and cannot wait to be back in the future. There music selection is awesome as well!

Popped in for a late lunch this past Saturday with the husband and ordered one happy hour salame and one regular salsiccia. For two people, this was the perfect amount of food, however, note that the happy hour pizzas are smaller than pizzas on their standard menu. The pizza was cooked perfectly and on par to the pizza I devoured in Florence, Italy. The crust was gooey, the toppings were flavorful and there was just the right amount of cheese and sauce. I could eat at Via Tribunali everyday and be the happiest person in the world. Also in true Italian style, the pizzas were served uncut which would normally cause me to spew profanity but alas, an XXXXL scissors accompanied our pizzas which made chopping up the pizzas super easy and no profanity was needed. The only fault I can find with Via Tribunali is that they do not open until 4pm! Why? Why? Why?

I recently ate at Via Tribunali for my birthday dinner with some friends. I love the pizzas. Our drinks were delicious and the server was good at answering any questions we had regarding the menu and changes we could make to any of the pizzas. The only downside is that it’s a tiny place. I was able to make a reservation for 6 people and they put us at the largest booth and it was TINY. We could all sit okay, but using our arms to cut pizza was impossible to do at the same time without elbowing each other in the face :) Overall — food and drinks are great — not great for parties.

Seriously one of the better pizzas in the Seattle area. We went for late lunch and it was quiet and peaceful — a lovely way to enjoy a much needed pizza fix! Especially loved that the pizza crust stayed firm and didn’t get soggy(sometimes the case at Tutta Bella, my other favorite pizza place.) As a native New Yorker, I do love my pizza. And since I long ago made peace with the fact that New York pizza just can’t be found out here in Seattle, I tend to now go for the pizza more closely aligned with what you get in Italy instead of NY. So I’m good with that. Via Tribunali’s offerings certainly fit the bill!

Our waiter was the one of the best wait staff I’ve ever met. He was so knowledgable about the menu and the wine and this is a place for wine snobs for sure. The cocktails were great, the service was quick, and our food was delicious! I couldn’t recommend this place more. If you’re looking for a great appetizer, I recommend the burrata!

Although the food was delicious and the service was quick, I think the prices for the food and portions were a bit unsatisfying. Also the boots had a bit tight of a seating and not enough lighting. Having seating areas in front of the bathrooms was not the most appealing experience, as we had people going in and out frequently, which was quite distracting. Overall, my friends and I had a great time! Will definitely go back there, but will ask to be seated in a different spot.

I go here every time I visit Seattle for some delicious Italian food/pizza. Their portions are perfect for sharing. Would definitely recommend sharing a pizza or 2 depending how hungry you are with about 3 – 4 people, with a nice appetizer to start(the Burrata, meatballs or meat board are my usual go-to’s). They have so many choices of pizza, it’s hard to go wrong with any of them(I’ve tried almost every kind they offer). Their pizza dough is great, perfectly chewy with a delicate crisp; it brings me back to when I was in Italy.(Yep, it’s that good!)

Seated in cold drafty garage area by electrical panels and half way through the dinner told they needed to reseat us and put us right by garage door with heat lamp but still cold. Food was delicious and service besides besides being reseated was good. However for the $$$ spent the garage drafty table reseating program did not work and was not the high end resturant it looks like on some sites. In addition the area resturant is located seemed run down and a bit dirty.

This restaurant is in the Capitol Hill area of the city. The sign above its door says«Vero Pizza» and I can truly attest that it’s comparable to true Neapolitan-style pizza. I lived in Naples for 2 years and always missed the fresh pizza with the D.O.C. Mozzarella de buffala. If you’ve never had it before, you will never want any other type of mozzarella on your pizza! Takes only about 10 mins to cook in the open Italian brick oven. I loved that they also had the Nutella calzone pizza as dessert! They also have a late happy hour from 10pm to close(which is 2am) and I will definitely be visiting this place again!

Came here last Saturday night. We had reservations which I guess is helpful for this place. We got a booth for the four of us. The décor and ambiance are great here and it’s a great place for a date. Our service was prompt and the food came quickly with no problems. Everything we got was top notch. My friends raved about the meatballs and they are self proclaimed meatball experts. I am a pizza expert, if I do say so myself, and I have been dying to try a true pizza margherita and this didn’t disappoint. It’s amazing how good it can be with top notch ingredients and the right oven. The only knock I would give them was a fairly limited selection of beer. I was hoping for a slightly better selection of beer but that is really a small nit pick. Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely! I wish they would open one on the Eastside!!!

Via Tribunali on Pike is my go to place for Neopolitan Style Pizza in this neighborhood. The atmosphere is rustic Italian with wooden tables and chairs in the front and booths along the wall in the back facing the bar. They have a great wood-fire oven in which they bake their pizzas, which are true neopolitan style and that I think are up among the top 3 or 4 in the City. The late night happy happy hour is perfect for me because I can get a decent glass(or half caraf) of wine and one of their individual sized pizzas for about the cost of a Quarter Pounder Meal Deal, and really. who wants to eat that anyway?

Came here for pizza on date night and there was a bit of a wait. We were quoted about 45 minutes on a Friday night, with no reservation, but there are lots of bars in the area so we went across the street to grab a beer. We had probably taken 2 sips of our drinks before Via Tribunali called to tell us they had a table ready. Yes, I was glad they had a table ready so soon, but it was kind of annoying that we had just ordered a drink. Being more accurate with times would be helpful. Our server started off great, but by the end of the night it was nearly impossible to get him over to our table. There was also a small cocktail table next to ours that started off as 2 people, and ended up with 4 or 5(there was definitely only space for 2). Felt a little crowded, although not really the restaurant’s fault. I got pizza, that was tasty, but they kind of looked at me like I was crazy when I mentioned my pizza wasn’t cut. Apparently you are expected to use your fork and knife, or they will provide scissors with which to cut. Not a big deal, but unconventional, and I assumed they had just forgotten to cut it. All in all, we will likely be back, but it’s not at the top of my list.

As I write this, I am nearly bed-ridden with a bug that won’t go away. There is a pizza box stuck in a tree right outside the window of my girlfriend’s apartment. The cold and the pizza box simply won’t go away. Maybe it’s just me. Maybe every time I’ve worried about the state of this country, it’s just me. Maybe when I feel like all hope is lost in the world, it’s just me. Maybe the weather is never as rainy, arid, hot, cold, stormy, or oppressively clear as I want to believe. Maybe it’s just me. Maybe sometimes a pizza doesn’t have to round with crusty edges if a photo depicts it that way. Maybe it’s just me. Sometimes a body needs pizza and in moments even more rare, you know there’s a pizza out there with your name on it – a pizza that so badly wants to be touched, masticated, and devoured. That’s what became of me last Saturday night, when even one early dinner, I felt it in my very bones. It was pizza time. It was time for two souls – one housed in flesh and blood, the other dough and toppings – to be fused together for all eternity in holy pizza union. So I used my phone to call up Postmates, an app likely familiar to us all and out of sheer laziness, my go-to option whenever hunger stirs in my belly and a general lack of fire prohibits me from jumping off the couch and seeking out my own path to action. I ordered what appeared to be a delicious«House Special» pizza from Via Tribunali, one so laden with toppings that I suspected my pizza jones would be slaked and then some. I was a little bewildered when Postmates informed me that my pizza would be delivered by a madman on foot, dashing through the inclimate night, galloping up hill and through the darkness, but above all else, I was stoked. This pizza was going to really settle my stomach and my life. It would make everything whole again at a time when I so badly needed life to feel that way. One hour later, it arrived, which is to say that he arrived, which is to say not that He himself arrived in human form to beseech upon me in His good name to forsake all that is evil and unclean, but that a man carrying a pizza box showed up like a vision of excellence. The box itself was exceptional, a tiny thing that sported a folksy image of a buxom woman, tits falling out all over the place, cradling a tiny pizza somewhere between her boobs and her slutty Mona Lisa face. I could not have been more outraged as a card-carrying male feminist but I could also have not been more hot for pizza. Then the box opened, or rather, I opened it and what I saw was ungodly. It was rectangular. It was tangled. It had some toppings on top and some in the middle. It was too chewy to bite, too hard to chew, and structurally incapable of supporting its own weight or snuggly making any known journey from hand to mouth. We gamely stabbed at it with utensils and hands and nails for a while as our disgust mounted and our appetites diminished. Finally, in a fit of utter malaria, I stabbed the whole thing violently with a nearby fork and threw it out the fourth story window, box and all. I was beyond angry. I felt sad, scared and betrayed – not just by Via Tribunali but by pizza itself. I did the unthinkable, calling up the establishment to possibly WTF had happened and why the pizza I ordered had failed to thusly materialize. A nice young lady answered the phone, moved to a place where she could hear me better, and informed me that if I had wanted a round pizza, I should’ve ordered from them directly. If I ordered through Postmates, «it would be a different shape.» As best as I could tell, she meant that I was being punished for using a third-party service. Well, mission accomplished, toots. I hate you all now and vanquish I shall. I wouldn’t say I blame Postmates, actually. But it would be nice to believe that they have normalized relations with the businesses they frequent, so that the relationship was cooperative and not merely transactional – or in this case, outright confrontational. Who knows, maybe I heard her wrong or made the whole thing up. Maybe it’s just me. Either way, I tried to get a pizza and instead I got a square map of doughy dysfunction. Today as I write, I’m looking clear at the box, lodged in a tree too high for any human to dislodge it without a significant groundskeeping. I feel terrible about that and I feel terrible for anyone forced to look at this box from eye-level especially bc as discussed earlier THATBOX. But above all else, I feel bad for myself. I have to stare at this pizza all afternoon, or at least for as long as I plan to sit at this table and work. Maybe it’s just me, in which case I have to live with myself even more vividly than usual. Maybe that’s it and I’ll learn a lesson in this case, one that should’ve sunk in ages. Then again, maybe it’s not me. Maybe it’s you, Via Tribunali. Maybe sometimes a pizza should just be a pizza. Maybe there is no self. Maybe there is only pizza. And when a pizza is not a pizza, somebody must fall.

I came here with my boyfriend and we really enjoyed our dinner here. Good food, good service, exposed brick, and an open restaurant front. I think the building was previously a chop shop because the front«window» is actually an open garage… somehow having dinner in a renovated garage felt romantic, never thought I would say that! There’s a long list of pizza and an even longer list of wines. I opted out of wine that night, but our server seemed very ready to talk me through the wine list. We got a caprese salad, pasta, and a pizza to share. I shouldn’t have ordered pasta at a place that seems to specialize in pizza. The pizzas here are baked in very high heat and very quickly, leaving the crust cooked, but not crispy. I’m usually a huge fan of crispy crust, but these pizzas are so good that I didn’t mind at all. However, $ 18 for a pizza that is suppose to be «personal size» is pretty steep. One pizza on its own feeds about 1.5 people, not necessarily enough for 2 people and too much for one person. I’m really looking forward to coming sometime during their happy hour. Marinara, margherita, or salame pizzas for only $ 6 and they also include desserts on that menu. Count me in!

Good pizza, but nothing extraordinary — we tried four different varieties, the special fig and prosciutto was the best of the lot. Major nit to pick for me is always the crispness of the crust on Neapolitan style pizza and Via Tribunali was lacking in this regard. Nothing wrong, just not exceptional — if you’re in Capitol Hill area worth a try but don’t make a special trip.

Molta deliziosa! Gourmet Neapolitan pizzas are the main event here at Via Tribunali, along with an extensive list of wines. Prices are on the steeper side, but the fresh meats, cheeses and vegetables justify it. I dined here with five of my friends, so our server recommended ordering at least four pizzas. We decided on the margherita, prosciutto e funghi, salsiccia e cipolla and misto salumi. My favorite was the salsiccia e cipolla(Italian sausage, caramelized onions and mozzarella). Instead of a traditional tomato based sauce, it featured a creamy, olive oil base. Unlike many pizza joints, the Italian sausage was homemade(I think) and in generous sized chunks. Each of the pizzas had a thin, soft and lightly charred crust. Split between 6, each of our checks came to be around $ 10(before tip) which is an awesome deal! Otherwise, each pizza is pretty pricey($ 16-$ 18) if you plan on having your own. Their HH seems to offer some pretty kickin’ deals, so I’ll definitely be back then! And beware of the restroom! It’s extremely dark in there… I couldn’t even find the garbage bin without using my phone flashlight! 00

This little place is in a convenient location, it’s dark and intimate, it’s for the budget conscious, it’s super quick, and it has chocolate calzones!!! As you enter the place, you’ll notice large stacks of fire wood on the sides. This is an important detail, and not merely decorative. Let’s talk about their pizza. The slim crust is perfect, allowing for a crispy outside, and a thin layer of fluff in the middle. Remember the wood you saw when you came in? From the first bite, you can taste a delicious woody hint in the dough. This flavor is fused in thanks to their wood-fired oven. Hence the stacks of wood :) Around Seattle, I only know of another place where pizza tastes this good: Veracci. By far, my top pizza choice is Margherita, and Tribunali makes it really well: a perfect blend of basil and mozzarella. It’s so good, I even forgive them for using pomodoro pasta instead of fresh tomato slices :) But even if I don’t end up having dinner, I never leave this place without feasting on a Mezza Luna for dessert. This is the calzone equivalent of the all-too-familiar crêpe with Nutella. It’s true, I love me sweets, but don’t you be afraid of a sugar overload, the slightly sour pizza dough balances perfectly with the hazelnut-chocolatey sweet, to bring untold happiness to your mouth. It’s like ebony and ivory living together in perfect harmony :)

A consistent staple This restaurant has withstood the test of time. I’ve been here many times over the years and they have consistently good pizza. I forget about it and a friend will invite me here. Since I’m on an anti-inflammation diet and gluten free, my last visit was a torture chamber. I love pizza so much I could eat it every day and being surrounded by pizza and pasta made me want to cry inside. Please make a gluten free pizza! I had the sausage and it came out as a patty. It wasn’t that satisfying even though it had pretty good flavor. The server was nice but a bit out of it since we had to ask him a couple times to bring scissors for the pizza and other things. I’ll have to remember to come back after I go back on gluten. For now I have to stay away from the yummy pizza places.

Happy hour here is decent! $ 6 for a little bit bigger than personal size pizzas and $ 5 Prosecco and wine. I really like that their pizzas are thin crust and their sauce are pretty good. The past weekend was my second visit here and just like the first time 2 out of the 3 pizzas we ordered came out soggy in the middle. We came in after 10pm and was able to grab a table right away, although it does seem like a very popular place so reservation is recommended. Ambiance wise Via Tribunali gives a hip, rustic, and seductive vibe. The whole place was extremely dark as there was barely any lighting other than some small candle lights. I wouldn’t say it was a romantic place or a good place for dates, unless you don’t want your date to see what you look like. I’d say it’s a good place for friends to hang out.

Do you like eating pizza in the dark? Then, Via Tribunali is probably the place for you! After singing our hearts out for a friend’s birthday at Rockbox, we debated on what to do next. You know that feeling: You want to do something because it’s only 10 pm, but you don’t know what. Plus, going home early meant we were getting old, and we couldn’t admit defeat! Next thing I knew, my friends pointed out that Via Tribunali had pizza, a bar, and a picture of a cat outside the building several floors above it. We were sold! When you walk into this place, be careful where you step. It was way too dark, and I could barely see in front of me, including the menu. Lucky for us, happy hour was 10 pm to close, and that’s where you get the biggest bang for your buck. However, your choices are limited unfortunately. We ordered($ 6 each during HH): –Salami pizza(6″): Yummy pepperoni pizza with crispy salame cooked using their brickfire oven. –Margherita pizza(6″): Good, basic standard but soggy in the middle –Anti pasta plate(olives, proscuitto, peppers, cheeses): Salty and briney, just the way I like it. The plate was a little small though. I’ve been here previously outside of HH, and I wasn’t terribly impressed based on quality versus the price. The 13″ pizzas are pretty big from their regular menu but the crust was too thin and the pizza was soggy. I still prefer Tutta Bella’s a little more than Via Tribunali, but my happy hour experience was much better than I expected. Overall, I give Via Tribunali a(3) star rating.

Via Tribunali is like a miniature cathedral dedicated to the God of pizza. The décor and the flavors will give anyone who has been to Italy a tiny piece of that visit back with dim lights, chewy flavorful brick oven baked crust, and an old world European style of décor. My boyfriend and I sat on the patio on our recent visit and enjoyed the sights and sounds of the passers by on Cap Hill while we waited for our food – which, incidentally, wasn’t very long. I’ve never seen a pizza cook so fast. It was amazing; almost as fast as a Little Caesar’s Hot ‘n Ready. But the flavor is what took this experience to the next level. I had a pizza with mozarella and ricotta and cherry tomatoes and it was exceptional. It isn’t the pizza to end all pizza, but it’s definitely in my top 5. My boyfriend had one with pancetta, and was delighted to admit it was very similar to the pizza he had in Sicily while visiting his Italian cousins. The style of this pizza is very old world – it isn’t the crisp kind you can pick up and eat; it’s meant to be eaten with a knife and fork. That said, if you’re a foody, you will not be able to help being delighted by the mix of flavors and textures dancing on your palette. It was complex without being pretentious and filling in the way only a comfort food can be. The ricotta on mine was particularly appetizing – I’d never have imagined anything could go better than mozzarella, but I am proven wrong, and happily. Another thing that made our visit spectacular was that our server was fast, friendly, personable, and capable. He had all of the qualities you want a good server to have – he was able to answer anything we asked without making it uncomfortable and he did an excellent job of explaining the product with enthusiasm. When I asked for extra sauce(I really love tomato sauce), he brought me a little dish full of it and I dipped pizza delightedly for the rest of the meal. When my boyfriend took the forgotten leftovers out of the fridge almost a week later, he ate them regardless of my warnings about old pizza, and it reheated so well you’d think we’d just picked it up the day before. It didn’t get dried out and nasty like pizza you order from a chain, which is a great credit to the quality of ingredients Via Tribunali is using. For an excellent pizza experience complete with a European cathedral-esque atmosphere, excellent service, and a location mere steps from every bar or night club worth your time, Via Tribunali is the perfect beginning to an unforgettable evening.

I came here for dinner with my bf on a weeknight. They take reservations, but I don’t think it’s necessary. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. Here’s what we got: Hand-made veal meatballs — recommended by our waiter because they didn’t have clams like we wanted. This ended up being our favorite dish! There were two large, flavorful, tender meatballs in pomodoro sauce and parmesan sprinkled on top! Perfect appetizer for two. 5 stars. Misto salumi — another appetizer. This offered a sample of all four of the cured meats served at VT. Portion was pretty good for $ 16. It came with olives and fancy cheese too. 4ish stars. Salsiccia e rapini pizza — just okay. I liked the sausage but I guess it was our bad just choosing this pizza and not knowing what rapini is. It’s a green stem and leafy veggie that just overpowered the pizza and was probably what made it soggy too — no good. I guess it made me feel like I was getting a more balanced meal though, which was good. It’s funny though because of all the items we ordered, we liked the pizza the least. I thought this was a pizza joint! Haha. 3 stars. Panna cotta — yum! Perfect sharable size and served with fresh berries on top. I loved the carmalized sugar on the bottom. I haven’t had panna cotta very many times, but this might be my favorite I’ve tried. 4.5 stars! As for the ambience, the«patio» was cool, even though it was just a view of the street. I walked inside the restaurant to use the restroom, and it seemed really dark. Romantic, I guess :) Now for the service — it was pretty bad. Our waiter came probably twice while our waters were empty, and didn’t bother to refill us. Also, after we were done with our meal and our table was cleared, we weren’t offered or given our check. just sat there for ten minutes, confused. We finally got our waiter’s attention who came over, and asked us what we needed — um, water and dessert menu please, thanks. It wasn’t busy, so I’m not sure why we were neglected and/or forgotten. Oh well, the food was good, but it wasn’t great enough for me to want to go back anyway. Four stars for food, two stars for service.
