I ordered the garlic chive noodles and was disappointed. It wasn’t bad but it was nothing special, and was also a bit greasy. I know that their ice cream is quite famous, maybe I’ll come back for that! But probably won’t come to the noodle bar again!

Absolutley amazing! We stopped in early afternoon before they opened for dinner service and had the kimchi pork dumplings at the front bar-outstanding! Alex was so nice and taught us about the menu as we had never tried Korean BBQ before. Chef Chris showed us around and we came back for dinner later, they remembered us and truly made our last night in Seattle one for the books. Mandy, our server, was outstanding! So nice and very knowledgable of the menu. We sat right at the bar and let Mandy do the ordering for us. I highly recommend this place for a unique, fun, experience! Make sure to go very hungry! Amazing job Trove team, we will be back soon!

Amazing Korean BBQ! The whole staff is so friendly and accommodating! We sat at the bar aka chef’s table and ordered the meat tower for two, kale sprouts, kimchi cauliflower and spicy cucumber salad. The chef sent us out the crispy cauliflower on the house. Everything was off the hook, fantastic! Not to mention the mouth watering parfait for dessert! Oh and almost forgot about the kimchi pork dumplings that lured us into Trove in the first place. Everything was just delectable! The whole vibe is awesome! love love love, will def be back!

Our visit to Trove was a generally enjoyable experience, with decent food and great service. However the food wasn’t so exceptional that I’d want to return any time soon. There are four areas of the restaurant: the parfait window at the door, the noodle bar in front, the bar in the middle, and the Korean BBQ in the back. We made a reservation and were quickly seated in the back at one of the grill tables. Our waitress recommended the«Baller Tower» which is a mountain of meat you grill at your table that is supposed to serve 4 – 6 people for $ 100. But she also recommended we supplement that with numerous appetizers and hot sides, which brought the price up to extravagant levels, so we opted to order individually. We ordered tri-tip, sausage, and prawns, which were all good but not phenomenal. Each person gets a sauce tray with three sauces — red bean paste, garlic sesame oil, and fermented jalapeño purée. We also ordered the crunchy cauliflower appetizer and a side of the warm kale salad with ham, pecans, and raisins. In my opinion the sides were the highlight of the meal with complex flavors and unique textures that stood out. The meat was just meat, nothing special. It was also unfortunate that they don’t provide knives to cut the meat into smaller pieces, but rather bring tongs and scissors for use on the grill. We ended the meal with a $ 6 parfait that, while good, was really just ice cream and brownies. I definitely wouldn’t knock the meal, as I left satisfied and didn’t feel too ripped off. But for the price and effort the food just wasn’t «knock your socks off good.» It was a unique experience but I probably won’t be a regular.

Celebrated a birthday here. The tequila cucumber drink was the table’s favorite. Light and refreshing. Family style lets groups to sample the many side dishes. The kale sprouts and the octopus were good. The room was filled with families(young and old). The service was slow as the restaurant grew busy around 8pm. 2 «Ballers»(assorted meat towers) served perfectly served 12. $ 60/head. Lots of fun, but the music was too loud for audible group conversation. Within walking distance to a delicious to-go pie stop and low key bars. Casual dress for the neighborhood and the restaurant.

Just had a parfait. Chocolate orange was nice. Wish there was less five spice cubes. The guys at the front were nice enough so I’m bumping it up to four stars! Haven’t tried the actual food but would like to sometime.

I like the concept of this place. It’s basically four restaurants in one: noodle bar, BBQ, dessert window, and a bar… all with separate ordering areas. I tried the noodle bar and a parfait from the dessert window, and liked them both. I’d rate the noodle bar a 3.5, and the parfait a 4. At the noodle bar, I tried the udon, the garlic chive noodle, and the kimchi dumplings. The udon and garlic chive noodles were good, but both a little too salty and over-sauced. The flavor combinations were good otherwise. The kimchi dumplings(5 pieces in an order) were delicious. No criticism there! The noodle dishes were all medium-sized portions, enough to feed one person with no leftovers. I also had a «not yo mana’s fruitcake» parfait and my friend had a «popcorn ball» parfait. They were good, and I’d come back again to try new flavors, but not anything that I would be super anxious to go back for. I like the creativity and concept of this entire place, so I will be back to try more dishes.

ONLYHEREFORTHEPARFAIT(NOTTHEFOOD) Saw the reviews about the food and I was UNinterested to have a meal here. However, the parfait stuck out and I had to try it. If you try to Unilocal places in Seattle for«dessert» places you land a lot of cupcake places or the limited places to get dessert(which I’ve already been to). I wanted to find something different, like a place you didn’t expect they would serve something like this. I FOUNDIT!!! There are 6 different Parfaits to choose from. YES, S-I-X. The one that caught my eye had popcorn — obviously popcorn is one of my favorite snacks and therefore I HAVETOTRYIT. POPCORNBALL — Caramel frozen custard, vanilla cake, spicy popcorn, peanut sesame brittle. It is served in a cute mason cup you eventually get to keep. The caramel custard had a very smooth consistency, it was mixed and topped with spicy popcorn and peanut sesame brittle which added texture… you have no idea how big i am with desserts and texture. I loved the popcorn and brittle, it added that sweet and salty flavor that goes well with caramel. At the very bottom is the vanilla cake which is a sweet surprise. You forget that theres vanilla cake so when you are scooping the last bites you get a surprise. I wish they added more vanilla cake to my dessert… it was a lovely addition. Will I be back? YES. I wanted to order another one immediately after. JABAAPPROVED. Until the next review…

This place was good and the décor was fantastic but the food wasn’t so amazing I dreamt of the day I’d return. Honestly, it’s about the same sentiment I had for their sister restaurant Revel in Fremont. My table of 5 girls ordered the regular sized meat tower to share. We also got a few cauliflower side dishes which were definitely tasty. The meat was good and service was really friendly. Perhaps I’ve been too spoiled by KBBQ in Seoul and south Seattle… because this place still left something to be desired. Unless the usual KBBQ experience, side dishes(aka bonchon) were not free here. I didn’t feel happy having to pay for side dishes even though these were obviously more thought out than the regular dallop of kimchi/fish cake/potatoes/etc. I stopped by the parfait truck on my way out(b/c hype, duh). I got the cinnamon toast crunch parfait and it was tasty but sooooo sweet. It didn’t suit my palette that well. I had a couple bites, shared the rest, then pocketed the SUPACUTE printed mason jar for home use. Probably won’t be back but the place is cute.

Hi so. I came here one day at around 4:05 when it had just opened. The server told me as they had just opened they needed to prepare the parfait and it would be ready to be ordered around evening time. So, I did not see any of this on the site? So my boyfriend called about this at night and the server says it is always ready to be ordered when they are opened. Whatever. So I went another time with my friend and ordered ours. To be honest, it was not as good as I thought it was but it was decent. Would not come again.

After craving something sweet after a long day exploring Seattle, my boyfriend and I came across Trove because of the parfaits they serve. I was so surprised at the reasonable prices of $ 5-$ 7. There were about 6 different options, and we ended up ordering the Cinnamon Toast Crunch parfait. It came in a cute jar that you’re able to take with you and bring back at your next visit to get a discounted price on your next parfait. I was also so surprised when we wanted to wash out our jar, but the man just switched it with a clean one for us to take. This place has a cool hipster vibe with succulents placed on the long table counter that faces out towards the street. I had a great experience here and I wish I lived in Seattle to try all of the other flavors!

Howdy doody! Wow. OK, I’m going to apologize in advance for my excessive usage of «wow», but wow. Trove is instantly my new favorite go to. The noodles are out of this world. We started with the dumplings. Wow. Then Ryan had the lamb + rice cake and I the garlic chive + shrimp. Wow. Both are so delicious I don’t know what to do with myself. The only thing that’s not wow worthy is the parfait. It’s just OK. Skip that, but definitely go to Trove!

It’s crazy how I’ve had Trove bookmarked for the longest time, but never took the time to try it out. Anyways, I seriously suggest people to come here for dessert if you’re ever in the Dowtown/Cap Hill area. Trove is completely different from your ordinary Red Mango/Menchies yogurt place. What really sets Trove apart from your average dessert places is that their yogurt is served in a Mason Jar with an X on it, which I find cool because it makeS the business so genuine. As for figuring out what to order, I recommend ordering the Strawberry Mochi Cake! I really enjoyed this one in particular because it had a hint of fresh ginger, with fresh strawberries and mochi cake covered at the bottom. Though the combination doesn’t sound appetizing, it surprisingly was delicious and all the flavors were well balanced. Note: You can take your Mason Jar home after you’re done and bring it back for a discounted dessert at your next visit :)

This review is for the Parfait bar only. Stopped by Trove after dinner to try the parfait. The walk up «Ice Cream Truck» is a cute concept. I ordered the strawberry mochi parfait with ginger streusel topping and basil sauce. The soft serve is similar to froyo like red mango/pinkberry, slightly tart. It comes in a mason jar that you get to keep. The flavors combinations are fresh and different. I love the idea and presentation, but ultimately I didn’t find that the flavors come together. The way the parfait is constructed it’s really difficult to get a bite with everything. And the mochi was not chewy like mochi, but almost crumbly but in big chunks. I wasn’t crazy about this parfait, I would definitely try another different flavor parfait. The noodle bar looks fantastic. I’ll have to come back to try it.

Tried other noodle dishes from their menu: Garlic Chive Noodles(shirmp, coconut red curry, spring garlic). The noodles had a perfect blend of curry and mildness of spring garlic. The shrimps and noodles were both perfectly done. Chow Fun(lemongrass sausage, pea vine, mint, togarashi). Excellent blend of flavors. The ingredients complement each other. The pea vine perfectly cut into the intense flavor of the sauce and lemongrass sausage.

Trove has been on my to-eat list for a while. I think the concept of having 4 different sections in one restaurant is pretty fascinating. When I went, we tried the noodle bar, BBQ and parfaits. Noodle Bar: 4 stars As soon as you walk into the restaurant, the noodle bar is the first thing you will see. You can sit at the bar and watch the chefs make the food right in front of you, or you can sit on the bar seats along the window. I really enjoyed the food that we ordered. The flavors of the noodle dishes were great and I really liked how the rice cakes were slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I would definitely come back again to try other noodle dishes. 1. Rice cake, lamb curry(northern Thai), kale 2. Garlic chive noodle, shrimp, coconut red curry, spring garlic BBQ: 3 stars First off, I have to say, I was very impressed with our server’s knowledge of the food. She was extremely helpful when it came to deciding what to eat. The food itself was mediocre. Everything we ordered from this side(about 5 dishes) was extremely salty. A lot of water was consumed while eating on the BBQ side. I was a bit disappointed with this side because the meat was expensive and it wasn’t very flavorful. Parfaits: 5 stars The parfaits consist of frozen custard and toppings, and they come in a cute glass cup that you can take home. I tried the Coffee Toffee Crunch and Strawberry Mochi Cake. Both were delicious, but my favorite was the Coffee Toffee Crunch. I would go back to Trove just to have the Coffee Toffee Crunch parfait again.

**review for parfaits only** It’s a parfait, it is what it is. Frozen custard and a bunch of toppings. It’s overpriced and its serving size is never consistent! I’ve gotten this three times already, and each time I’m unsure if my $ 6 is gonna get me half a jar of a full jar of the parfait. This is a rotating menu with seasonal additions as well. I like that they mix it up, but I’m also sad that they took out the old school menu. Old school = traditional flavors. New school = Asian fusion/influences(tapioca, Mochi, tropical flavors). While the parfaits are delicious, I’m over the hype! Still giving 4 stars cause they’re good and I will go back if I see a flavor I want to try. I admit I was intrigued mostly because it looked cool and it was in a mason jar(plus I love that you can keep it!). Just saw at Walmart that dreyer’s sells frozen custard and I still have my mason jar from trove… Flavors to try: –strawberry Mochi(skip on the ginger crumbs if an intense ginger taste isn’t your thing, don’t be scared of the Thai basil sauce, it’s really good and surprisingly sweet instead of savory.) –mandarin custard(I’m recommending anything with this custard. It’s really light and refreshing. Could do without the marmalade, it’s a bunch of bitter mandarin peels)

I’m only reviewing their parfaits — which btws was SPECTACULAR. Not only did I love their Eco-friendly reusable/take home«always tasty» mason jars but the soft serve was delicious. I got the old school creamsicle which had meringue kisses and orange marmalade. So good and different than other desserts I’ve had! Two thumbs up, it’s my new favorite and fun dessert spot! I can’t give them a five since I’ve never tried their real food before but it looks promising. :)

This place is cute! I needed to pick up something to eat before my flight back to San Diego and this place was it! I went in, asked for the dumplings(pork kimchi) and that gave me enough time to use the washroom, explore the back area of the restaurant and the built in parfait truck. They packed the dumplings quite ready and after I got through security, I dug in. Bummer that they were getting a little cold already. I should have dug in while they were hot! Because even cold, they were delicious!!! I wish I could go back tomorrow to try their other dishes Hot tip: HOUSEMADENOODLESANDDUMPLINGWRAPPERS! Yum, nuff said.

I’m giving this place 3 and a half stars — interesting concept, just poorly executed! First off, Trove is located in the heart of Capitol Hill and is just down the street off the new Kukai that will be opening up soon and that I’m crazily ecstatic about! The place looks small from the outside but when you go in you realize it’s huge! So apparently this fusion place has different themes — there’s a noodle area, a bar area, a BBQ meat area, and a parfait stand right outside the front entrance. My friends and I sat in the bar area and noticed right away the funky looking artwork around us. Very futuristic yet trendy feel, so props to the creators/owners for building this kind of atmosphere. My first look at the menu and I notice they have happy hour here every day from 4pm to 6pm. That apparently includes Sunday, which is a plus. My group had already eaten, but the fat glutton in me wanted to try a food here, so I got the garlic wide noodles. When the dish arrived, it came in this paper bowl, which I will admit looked kind of ghetto. I know the place probably tried to emphasize being environmental friendly, but for a sit down meal c’mon. Taste wise you can tell the noodles were fresh! Ingredients were okay too. My only gripe(or two) is that portions were small, and for $ 12 I’d rather get some Beef Chow Fun in Chinatown. However, we all were very curious with the parfaits, so each of us got a different one. Here, they divide the parfaits into old and new school — the former is what you normally expect because of tradition. The new school, on the other hand, combines flavors and ingredients you would not anticipate would go together well. Sadly, the new school didn’t work in my favor. I got the new school strawberry shortcake, and while I appreciate originality, the green sauce(whatever it is) does not go well with the parfait. Also, the shortcake at the bottom had a strange texture. On a positive note, though, my friends’ mud pie and coffee-flavored parfaits were alright. Another good thing was that if you keep the mason jar that the parfait comes in(wash out the crap in the bathroom) and bring it back for more parfait action, they take off $ 1 of the total price. My verdict: I would only come here once for a meal and that’s it. For drinks, though, I might come back multiple times because of the location and the cool vibe at the bar area.
