Tropical Tan Ballard

I love this Tropical Tan its so nice and clean! The girls are very knowledgeable and friendly and the manager is the best! They have really nice equipment, my favorite is the new Versa Pro, its the best spray booth out there!

Best tanning salon in Ballard. Ive tried a couple others before settling on a membership here. I usually go in the mornings and the girl at the front is so nice and helpful not sure about other staff because I always see the same girl. However IMO these are the best beds in Ballard. Love this place. I have tried all the beds except the spray tanning so far.

Girl behind computer should not have been working by herself. New and spent 30 minutes on phone. I waited more than I tanned. She didn’t help me and couldn’t figure out how to fill a new customer form into the computer. Couldn’t have helped me, but a guy walked in and tanned and walked out in front of me before I even got to tan. Very disappointed in the experience since it shouldn’t take an hour to tan for 7 minutes.
Been here in the past and didn’t have this much trouble. Needs to consider hiring people that can multi task.

I bought a groupon for five mystic tans and have yet to have a tan. The first time I went I wanted to get tan before going on vacation. The person at the desk couldn’t get the mystic tan machine to work for me. The only thing that happened was that the door kep opening and closing whenever I pushed the button, but no spray. It turns out they only have one mystic tan machine so after several minutes of this I finally gave up and went home. Today I went for the second time to give it another try. the girl at the desk told me that they had accidentally run out of the spraying solution and wouldn’t have it in until Thursday. So I am not very happy with this location right now. Luckily I didn’t pay for parking today before finding out that I couldn’t get a spray tan until Thursday.

I love Tropical Tan and have been going to various locations for years! However, the Ballard location is my favorite. The girls here are great, especially Sam! I always get great customer service, friendly smiles, and good advice. I will keep coming back!

So this is going to be a positive/​negative review.
Pros
–Most of the staff is great! Especially the gals that work in the evenings. I get off work later so I usually only see them, very professional and customer service oriented.
–The price is amazing. Most affordable tanning salon in Seattle imo.
–Location. Literally across the street from my apartment.
Cons
–Just one big con. I like tanning, but I typically only tan when I am either going on vacation or in the Summer time. So I have a monthly membership because it is convenient to just go in, say my last name, and tan. I tend to place it on hold every so often when I know I wont be tanning for a certain amount of time. Normally, this works out just fine. This time however, I call a few days before the first as usual to put my account on hold since we will be out of town for a little. The lady on the phone confirmed the hold and she knows my husband and I on first name basis so I figure Ok it’s done, we are good. So woke up on the 1^st to do some first of the month bill payments and budgeting and I notice the charges on y account!
Thats not even the worst, some other charges got posted to our account that we didnt take note of, and left us pretty tight on cash for the next few days. So I walk over to the tanning salon and speak to who I actually always thought was the manager, did not act like one. I explained the situation and she actually said she doesn’t know what i want her to do, she says it says its on hold but she doesnt know why it charged me. So I say, «I want a refund.» and she LAUGHS. More like Scoffs, loudly like what I just said was a joke.
So finally after calling her boss she initiates the refund, but ends up accidentally charging my card AGAIN. Luckily we were able to void it. But this girl is never a pleasure to speak to when we come in. More than once we have discussed her lackluster attitude after leaving the salon during the day. Disappointed, but alas, we will continue our membership as there are no other salons nearby.

I went today after buying the awesome Mystic Tan deal through Living Social. Chloe was so nice and helpful. She went over all of the deals that they have going on for when my living social deal is over. She was so down to earth and welcoming. I totally recommend this location. It’s super chill and clean! I can’t wait to keep going and seeing better results!
Also, i am super interested in the Red Light therapy! After learning about the VIP membership, it seems like such a good deal since it includes unlimited Red Light therapy! (i could be wrong, but i am pretty sure that’s what she said). Anyway, i would recommend this location, you won’t regret it :)

Over the past 15 years I have been to many tanning salons in the Seattle. I really like this location. I want to emphasize that I am talking about the Ballard location only. I have been to two other locations and have not been very happy. I spray tan only and it is super important that there are towels and those shower cap thingys in the booth. I have never been stuck in there without either (this has happened at other locations). The solution they use is really good. The place is super clean and the people that work there are super friendly. I love that they offer me deals when I am running out of sessions.

I am really enjoying going to Tropical Tan’s Ballard location. It is such a calming environment and kept very clean and organized. The staff are helpful and friendly and make me feel like an important customer. The beds all seem brand new and are obviously well cared for. I love the location too!

got a free week pass here and ended up buying a month cause i loved it. the staff was super friendly and helpful. the place was super clean. all the beds were new and comfortable and there was eyewear available for free for each tan. super glad i came!

The first time I went into Tropical Tan I had no idea what I was doing. The person at the front desk answered all my questions about the tanning plans and explained to me the payments and everything. I felt really confident signing up for a membership. I was really glad she was there to answer all my questions (I had a lot) and explain to me how tanning works there. It’s a great environment, and really nice staff!
